- The decade-long finals drought is almost over for Brisbane, but only after North Melbourne gave the Lions the fright of their lives.
In a see-sawing final quarter that saw the lead change hands four times, the home team kicked two goals in the final minute to escape with a 12.15 (87) to 12.3 (75) victory.

Two shocking calls in that last quarter for both teams. The ruck infringement that awarded Ben brown a free kick and the block on Oscar Mac. Both decisions ruined or spoiled a great game
As an Adelaide Crows supporter, it’s good to see Brisbane back in the top 2, and in the finals. Umpiring was crap I must admit, but nowhere near as bad as the ANZAC day game.

To think that this time, a month ago, that with Port Adelaide and Fremantle on the Lions tail, that they might not even make the top eight.
A month later, at this present moment, their leaders have stepped up and the masterful and wonderful mind of Chris Fagan gives them the edge to an improving North side. Brilliant.
As a Fremantle fan, I can't help but admire the way Brisbane are performing right now. They are the most watchable team in the competition right now, and I could honestly see that there's a good possibility of them winning the flag this year.
The umpires are ruining this beautiful game. Nonetheless what a brilliant game. Well done to both teams.

Was a disgrace. Never seen umpiring like that in the 2nd half. Umpires are slowly going to ruin this great game. That dive in the last should of been a 50m against, but the umpire wanted to be a hero.

@@Benjamin-ix2hl more freekicks cause they had more footy and went harder at the contest. No denying the free kick at the end was a joke, but so was the ben brown one. The better team won on the day.
a lot of unfair calls were made for both teams that night, it's a shame that those decisions are overshadowing what an amazing game this was....
Regardless of what happens in the last five weeks of the season even if the Swans win the next five and the Lions lose the next five (though both scenarios won’t occur) the Lions 🦁 will finish above the Swans 🦢 for the first time in a decade since 2009.A great effort by Brisbane and Chris Fagan and his men deserve all the credit as do the fans for sticking by the club in the tough times personality I hope Brisbane go all the way and win the flag I’ll certainly be barracking for them in September and I hope Lachie Neale wins the Brownlow too good on them a fantastic effort by Brisbane
