Tip: you can put two tennis balls in a sock to DIY that peanut thingy!

Those are great tips. If only people took it seriously instead of as a joke they’d get the results they’re seeking.. these balls have helped me greatly with pain! Total life-saver for fibromyalgia and other conditions I deal with!

I am only able to continue to exercise at some level of intensity by doing all of the exercises Dai showed except the foot one which is now added to the list.

This really works ! I had horrible shoulder and arm pain just a few minutes of using the spike balls on my back and gently gliding them over the area that hutch relaxed me so much and the pain left ! Awesome !

I am four years late to this party and what a great video! Before I go and look at his store, I'll copy the link so I can share it in email. Love that he mentions self-care which is really essential. Nice lightness to this, and he makes it all look very reasonable to do. Wish TH-cam took us to his next video and not somewhere else, but at least I can subscribe.

Without knowing been doing this for a couple of months, with tennis balls, I was a little concerned that it'd make the pain worse, so didn't do it too often, now I'll do it everyday, every time I have done it it feels amazing how it releases a lot of pain.
BTW, every time you said "ahhh, that's the spot!"
I was like, I know what you mean man!
For people that suffer with (in my case lower back left leg 24/7 pain) pain, try it out just go slow it takes a little adjustment every time to find the "spot".
Best wishes for those who will try, it's not fun to live with pain.

Thanks for that Dai. The foot is the one I have been neglecting and it will now be added given that my sole seems to be one huge trigger point at the moment. I bridge onto my traps these days. I also just discovered sitting on a hard chair or bench with the lacrosse ball on my hamstrings and extending the leg. My hamstrings had been hurting me for a while and not responding to stretching.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I'm afraid to do these releases because my joints might become a little more loosey-goosey and I don't really want that. So it's really difficult to know what to do. But when I watch these releases I think...ahhh.... that would feel so good...what a conundrum.

Hi There, a little more understanding of anatomy would help you be a more effective guide. The muscle you were working in the butt area was actually your Gluteus Medius. The big ball will not allow you to access Piriformis as it is very deep. You need the lacrosse ball and some time to allow access to this very important structure. It lies in the center of the lateral glutes. If you draw a line from the PSIS to the tailbone then to the greater trochanter back to the Posterior Superior Illiac Spine you will have a triangle. The center of that triangle is where you will find the Piriformis..

How do you know if you have adhesions? By pain? I have been told have periformis issues and possible psoas spasms on my left. But my right side of back top hip area is sore. Okaynfound sore spots. Can you ever further harm a situation with using a ball? I am assuming it may cause tenderness for awhile? And how many times a day is okay?

Myofascial release is an alternative medicine therapy claimed to be useful for treating skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles.

'Need' is something that MUST be done. I have 41 years of a quality athletic life and I've never done what this video is talking about. I need oxygen. I need food. I wish people stopped using words like this. It's like the millennial disease with the word 'literally.' I literally don't NEED to do this.
