NEW Bushcraft Basecamp - Dovetail Joinery Pot Hanger & NEW Fire Pit (Ep. 2)

- BACON WEAVED BREAKFAST TACO VIDEO: • Bushcraft Camp : Bacon...
The bushcraft camp shelter construction is back! Today, in this video, i show off a new element of the bushcraft camp site: an improved fire pit and cooking area. I try my hand at a dovetail jointed pot hanging system and i make a new fire pit using stones. Due to a lack of resources in the area, it will make expanding the actual shelter a bit difficult. But, i will continue to have fun, creating new ways to make my time at the basecamp more enjoyable.
I hope you all are doing well and i hope that my new videos can give you all a little break from the tough times we are in. Please reach out if you ever have video ideas or questions.
Thank you all, stay safe and i hope you enjoy the video.

COOKING CAVEMAN STEAK VIDEO: th-cam.com/video/9b6npT7UwX0/w-d-xo.html
Scram FAM! Thanks so much for the warm reception back to TH-cam. Hopefully you all enjoyed my last 2 videos, they were both campfire cooking videos, but i felt it was time to get back to the bushcraft camp and do some work to improve it. Hope you all have a nice weekend and enjoy this video as well.
Heck yes I enjoyed them.
You da man Isaac! 🤜🏻🤛🏼
Tell us the story about what happened to the tip of your Gomboy. Enquiring minds want to know. Glad you are back man.
The last two videos were great my friend. Always interesting and entertaining to watch. Keep up the great work.
They were cool boi..... How about scrambled eggs, buffalo chicken, and watermelon
what he's doing is actually quite tiring from moving numerous rocks, it may seem a simple task but the amount of rocks you gotta move around. and still making sure to film the best shots and edit them. thats a lot of work ! much respect! just wow :)
The element of this video that was the most work, was honestly moving all that dirt. I had a 4'x3'x2' hole dug out worth of dirt i had to move. Boring to do and film. :(
Please keep up this momentum. Loving your vids during these trying times. Thank you so much for taking us outdoors. Everyone has a bad case of cabin fever.
I agree
Making a good hanger shelter looks fun

Welcome back Martin been waiting for you to turn up again lad
Thanks buddy. 😀😀😀
Good to see you back, in this time of confinement.. Always stress free video
Glad to be able to get out to make em. Glad you tuned in Chuck.
Time for a small draw knife and maybe a spoke shave. I found these items at a flea market, but they are not too spendy otherwise. I started making handles for tools (hammers, shovels, axes, etc) right away and it also speeds up the process of making spoon blanks. Thanks for the content at just the right time. I am inspired to dust off my back yard bushcraft camp get back into it...
Thanks for the comment. I will hit up a flea market as soon as I can. 😀
It works, That is a great project.
Thank you Bob
Nice one Mr O its bloody awesome to see you again lol
Keep em coming
More to come!
That is a very functional fire pit. Most people build a fire ring based on the concept of keeping warm and then try to figure out how the heck they're going to cook on it. Nicely done.
In the beginning I stumbled upon this dude thinking it was survival not just for the fun of being creative with cooking, and ways to live a lil off grid. Now? I know and enjoy the content. If it was myself with property a fort would be sweet to build. Cheers Scramble.
Thanks man. Glad you are enjoying the videos.
Anytime boss. Hope this crap blows over so can get on with life.
Another one! Love the grinding man!
Lugahdat mad wood skills boi
Your video is great, I really like you👍👫
The ol mora garberg booooy, lookadaa
That's a great idea.
Glad you think so!
Hey, added in audio editing. Nice touch.
. . . . .
If a full pot pulls down too much, maybe add a counterweight on the other side.
Look'n forward to see'n the new fire pit in action boa!
Great to see u again Martin! Love the clips ur doin... Keep it up!
The notch wasn't pretty... but still functional, that's what matters!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed 🤗
Stay Safe! Love your videos. You make me laugh. lol lol

Scrambled O if u ever get time on let’s say a Tuesday night would you want to hope on my Bushcraft podcast as a special guest have people like Joe robinet Zachary Fowler and really bigmonkey1 on we actually was just talking about u me and joe on the podcast
Your video caught my eye as I was reviewing the posts. I started using the dovetail setup you showed about 45 years ago; except I put the notch in the ground post and triangle the crossbar. I think it makes a stronger joint since the ground post is a larger diameter. Also you can put a few notches in the post to adjust the height when needed. Just don't put the notches too close together or they might split out. With the notches on the post, you can hammer the post into the ground without fear of damaging it. I don't know if you tried it, but you can rotate the post to adjust the pot temperature.
Good ideas. Thank you.
Good video. Nice skills. Ta.
Great stuff sir ..
Just found your station. Enjoy your videos very much
Thanks buddy. Glad ya enjoying them. 🤗
Great video! Thanks for sharing!!! Maybe try hanging the pot from a chain... You could lower it to boil faster and raise it to keep warm! PEACE!!!
SO SMART! GREAT IDEA! YOUR THE BEST
Always an awesome video... camp looks good buddy... keep up the great work 👍👊
Thanks tank
Haha it reminds me of an old shiners camp
Great set up, never would have thought of the dovetail. Wish there was some land near me I could build a base camp. I've thought about making a camp on that backside of my yard by the creek. Still in city limits but it'd be a place to go.
Gaaaaw! Glad ur back Mr O. You seem happy and having fun. That’s what it’s all about!
Yea buddy. You are right about that!
Hey Martin: You are still a wizard of the hatchet & knife. Looks like it will work fine, so be proud. Camp looks more usable. Thanks for the video in this lock down time you are an important connection to the world I love. Thanks Brian 79
Awesome I enjoyed this one👍
Glad you enjoyed it
GAW!!!!!!
Diggin the camp kitchen man! You should make it so you can rotate the pot hanger.
Good idea!
Fooooolks Scrambled Ooooooo he’s quiet agaaaaain. 😜

Odie
Thank you! Hope that each video can give you just a slice of the outdoors. 😃
Looks like a rocky start for the day. Have fun thanks for the video.
😂😃😂
Good effort mate I've tried the triangle effect first time I made it two long but learnt from my mistakes great to use though
Yay another video from O. Decent looking pot holder, I'm sure it will hold still. Post more camping videos Martin. Always fun to watch you.👍🤘
Thank robbie. I appreciate you tuning in.
Scrambled O never failed to tune in you Fantastic 4 if you catch my drift....boaaaa!😂
That does loook like it would be tricky to do in the woods but yours turned out great. Nice work - I might have to try this someday. 😊 good stuff O
Love when you say ‘boooooohy’ 😂😂😂
First off, GAW!
Secondly, that was great Martin 👍
I thoroughly enjoyed this
Thanks buddy
Great video buddy, glad to see ya back, loved the pot hanger and the nature intro. Stay safe my friend in these trying times. Atb Stuart (UK)
You too man, stay safe!
Haven't been seeing the best tube entrance ever. WHY? WHY? WHY?
Loogehdat bushcraft carving skills bo!
Nice video, glad I found your channel. Have you considered a "keyhole" firepit? You can keep your main fire going strong and pull coals into the narrower portion to cook. You could have your pot hanger over main area to heat water and use your grate over small end. Just my thoughts. Look forward to more videos.
Yes, i had one at my old campsite. It really is a good idea. The last one i made wasn't great, because i dug it out, so it stayed flooded or moist alot. But keeping it at ground level would be good.
GAW!
Yeeehaaa GAW
13:03 Loogadat wedding band Boi! 😍 it's b-e-a-utiful!
😀😀😀
You should start measuring everything in cubits lol.. Tip of fingers to your elbow. Approx 18 inches. ;) it would be fun and you'd have a little Egyptian in your shelters!
Next weird food should be, Sauerkraut, Grape jelly, Shrimp and Corn.
Fooooooollksss
