Taito is maybe my favorite Arcade developer. So many hits! I've heard the F3 is very fickle on supergun setups so playing on a cab really is the only way. Some day I'll get a Candy Cab myself!
yeah its amazing how influential they were back in the day, fingers crossed for you mate, I hope you find a good candy cab such a great hobby as long as you dont mind a bit of tinkering and maintenance ! thanks for watching ... laters !
yeah you are correct, it came out a few years before the gnet and both are very similar being based on the PS1 - whats cool is that you can play all the games from the FX-1B on the Gnet if you update the bios, you can even play other games from similar hardware like brave blade (but with sound issues) ! laters thanks for watching !
Cheers Marcus, I would definitely recommend looking at getting some multis for your cabs - maybe the sega system 16 one or Cps2 - they are pricey but 100% worth it !
Cheers Tooty, Lol, yeah you needed to maximise your game time for those 10p ! I use to play alot of Gunsmoke and Commando, but back then you would also do a lot of over the shoulder gameplay watching too, so that you could work out the patterns and could at least get a bit further !
Great video that Nick and really well put together Another great collection you've got there, some top games and some I've not played Puchi Carrot is great, only played that recently on the Egret Layer Section is great. Great we got plenty of these on the Saturn and PS1, I bought Arkanoid off Craig actually bit find it very tough with the pad Played Gekirindan once on the Saturn but remember not being keen, it looked good hear so I need to play it again now as can't remember it really, I'd got in my head it was a yoko vertical game on Saturn but I must be mixed up with something else 🤣 Kaiser Knuckle looks great, never played that Think you've already decided you're buying that multicart by the sounds of it 🤣 All the best mate👍
Cheers James, Puchi Carat is a fantastic puzzle game, have you got the spinner for the ergret that looks awesome and wondered if it worked as well as it looks ! I think you are right that the saturn has a yoko version of gekiridan, I havent played it but I heard that its not a great port. yeah I reckon I talked my self it getting the multi 🤣🤣🤣 take it easy mate
Great overview of the system, some really good games were released on it. I was going to ask about a multi cart but you answered that in tip 3, just wondering if it's actually affordable though for mere mortals unlike something like the cps2 one 😂 I watched that kaiser knuckle dev interview recently too, interesting stuff and a game I'd really like to have something for in collection, there's a set of 5 acrylic standees on ebay I keep looking at but there's one missing, should be 6 in the set and it's the main man missing so have never pulled the trigger, definitely going to add in the ost though for it and possibly a poster as I definitely need a nod to the game in my setup. Puchi carat is a game I've really enjoyed over the years on the psx, great little puzzler, like the look of the space invaders type game. elevator action I used to love the original bitd and was pleased to play the sequel many years later on the ps2 or saturn, can't remember which it was first but I definitely didn't see it in the arcades, you just said it was a Japanese exclusive so that's why lol fun game especially asking you said with the rolling thunder type elements. Toaplan tingle 😂 great game gekirindan though, nice to see it running and receive praise and a high entry in your list, I think it became a bit lost in the saturns excellent stg library, you said it wasn't a great port though which is a shame. Top entry at numero uno, sounds like you've gone all out with the artwork too, will be good to flash up one of your cabs with the games artwork, stick a goldfish bowl beside the cab and your all sorted 😂 Interesting stuff Nick 👍
Thanks Craig, its a great system. The Multi is around USD 450 plus an extra 50 is you want a screen to choose the games, but of course you also need to find a motherboard and get those region locking tabs of the board, I am serious y thinking about it just for Dan-ku-ga and the extra version of Darius. Its a really great interview with the developer, fascinating insight into what went on ! its a shame Kumagumi only has t-shits and hats, cant see any posters for you, I think Eddie will never forgice you if you get those Acrylic standees 😂😂 Definitely give the space invaders a go - must be on one of those Ps2 collections. Elevator action 2 is just pure fun - didnt realise it also got put on the PS2, i need to look out for that ! Gekirindan definitely needs more love ! i havent played the port but there are a few complaints online, I think it also suffered because the name is not easy to pronounce or remember ! Hahaha - might but the goldfish bowl in the blast with the necked monitor if I cant find a replacement soon !!!!!! Take easy mate and really appreciate you checking it out !
@@red7even52 Eddie has a bookcase full of toys in his gamesroom so not sure he's in a position to offer any sensible advice 🤣 I just looked at them again, if the general was included I reckon I could find room for them in a drawer then so not to cause offence 😂 Just realised re ele action returns, it's on one of the taito compilations but could have been a bonus game on the xbox release, definitely on one of them, I'm old now and can't remember things like I used to 🤣🤣 I've got to get my finger pulled out regarding something arcade related this year, I keep getting sidetracked by statues and tat, have an immense snk related statue about to leave japan 👍
Ball or mouse. Set -X , +X for arkanoid I found to work just right. Otherwise, stick or controller sends a maxed out signal and it is harder to play with it.
All the game review footage were captured from the actual PCBs (the actual carts or boards shown before the review) and with my poor gameplay :). But the montage of games I dont have during the intro was captured from a TaitoX3 using mame to play those games. thanks for watching
@red7even52 no ive only played Kaiser Knuckle (on fbneo)...but if its similar then i must check it out....theres something perfect aboit the cadence/timing on this game it just feels right. Weirdly a modern beat em up that also simply feels good was the under night in birth game (shame about the name)

Taito FX board was I think their first foray into 3D, and the hardware was very similar to PS1. Raystorm was pretty much arcade perfect on PS1.
yeah you are correct, it came out a few years before the gnet and both are very similar being based on the PS1 - whats cool is that you can play all the games from the FX-1B on the Gnet if you update the bios, you can even play other games from similar hardware like brave blade (but with sound issues) !

yeah its good fun ! thanks for checking out the video.
Loved that Nick.
I feel so much more invested in this stuff now I've got a cab.

You ate with this ranking! Slayyy
cheers for Watching !
Enjoyed that Nick, outside of space invaders i cant say i ever really played any shooters in the arcade my money just didnt last long enough lol

Taito is the best among arcade game producers. Who else but them can create both cute & exciting games?
Totally agree with you, they have some amazing IP and were OG pioneers in the Arcade industry !
