Lying underneath Yellowstone National Park is one of the world's few Super Volcanoes. 2.1 million years ago it erupted, spewing ash and debris across most of the continental United States. Today, millions of people visit Yellowstone National Park every year to see beautiful scenery, majestic animals, and awe-inspiring geysers. So what if the Yellowstone Super Volcano erupts today?

Not to point out a little bit of a hole in your research. But Yellowstone also erupted 1.3 million years ago. I agree that this doesn't necessarily mean that we're overdue or anything. But three eruptions in the span of 2.1 million years as opposed to two is a very different deal.

I am far more worried about extinction events like Yellowstone or meteors hitting the planet than global warming. We all know yellowstone can erupt at any time....and all you have to do is look at all the craters on the moon to know extinction events are real. Global warming is the least of our worries.

You must not know about the runaway greenhouse effect. That's much closer than Yellowstone. It takes years for the magma viscosity to change to super eruption levels which is easily monitorable, so it's not appearing to be any kind of threat at all. The greenhouse though. It's being constructed with every passing day, another nail gets hammered in uwu
