    I was just scared that he might crash the switch with full force. But thats the hydraulik guy. 😅

    Hello! Can i use this product on garden lights? There is a mechanical legrand timer but it brokes every year. Can i use this to control lights open at 18.00-6.00 for example?

    Do you have to activate leave home manually on phone?

    Excellent Video - I had to wait until the end to get the bit that I wanted - I think it will do what I want.
    I want to always have the power to the bulb on and just want the switch to toggle it. In that way I can have a smart bulb and control that through alexa - but strangers coming to my house can just toggle the bulb on and off but the bulb remains connected

      hey , did you manage to set that up? can the switches be used to trigger alexa routines to control the smart bulbs? ( as i dont have tapo smart bulbs , there philips wiz soo to control them i would have to use an alexa routine )

    • @CheeseLovingGuy
      @CheeseLovingGuy 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LNprod12yes it works well now. When I first got it it did not have the trigger any routine but it does after a software update. That said I did not then fully install the switch because the depth of the switch mechanism meant I would have to replace the pattress box and that was a hassle to far for me to be bothered

    I'm curious why there are batteries in that switch when there's already power in there.

      One wire is not a circuit lol. Beforehand: it is one line cut which is connected either a dumb switch or a smart switch. Dumb switch is powered by human, smart switch is powered by battery.

    can you use the switch through google home

    • @davidlei6930
      @davidlei6930 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, it supports alexa and google home, and you can also set up Siri shortcuts on your phone.

    • @hansr370
      @hansr370 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidlei6930 Do you know if you need to have it connected to something? I wonder if it can just be a dummy switch and be used as a trigger for something but actually no wires connected to it.

    • @davidlei6930
      @davidlei6930 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hansr370 S220 needs to be used with Tapo Hub (model: Tapo H100), and the two of them are connected through a low-power wireless protocol. H100 is connected to the router through Wi-Fi, so that S220 can use Internet communication, and you can control S220 through voice assistant.
      S220 is a smart switch that can control ordinary light bulbs. It uses battery power, but it can control the circuit switch behind. Because there is generally no neutral wire in the wall light box, it is impossible to fully power the S220.

    • @davidlei6930

      It is supported, there are instructions on how to set up Google in the Tapo APP, and I have succeeded.

    • @quantisedspace7047
      @quantisedspace7047 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hansr370You don't need to have it connected to anything mains-wise, no.
      You could just carry it around in your hand, as long as it maintains contact with the necessary hub. The switching would be an event which /may/ be processed locally, but you'd probably want to set up an autonation based on a state change.

    I’ve got a Tapo smart bulb. I can say Alexa turn bulb on or off. So why would I buy this switch?

    • @davidlei6930
      @davidlei6930 ปีที่แล้ว

      Put the Sensor near the hub to setup, and then install it to the desired location. If 40m is an open distance, there is no problem for Tapo, because Hub and Sensor use 868Mhz or 922MHz for communication, which covers a longer distance than zigbee and other 2.4GHz wireless communications, usually over 100 meters.

      @quantisedspace7047 ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably wouldn't. Voice control can be a bit of a pain for some people though: I turn my smartplugs on/off 70% of the time with the little switch on the side because it's too much of s faff to say 'hey Google..' or start up the tapo app.

    Caution!: I bought that S210, but it can't be linked to the H200! The reason is that the frequency communication codes of different countries are different, so it cannot be linked to H200 922 MHZ (US) S210 868MHZ (EU).. The conclusion is that the code is linked according to the country! Ordered H100 again :(

    So many questions and so FEW answers... Why bother in making these videos if you won't engage with potential customers??

    Meanwhile there are smart light power switches that don't need the NULL by no means; instead with the live wire coupled with a capacitor that must be connected in parallel in the circuit so the continuity in the electrical circuit is ensured permanently exactly for the inner electronic circuit of the light power switch itself, which with the TAPO switch is insured by the batteries! And for these kind of light power switches mentioned by me there is no need of an extra device - like this hub since the power switch is Wirelessly connected straight with the router - and not only that but the inner power switch electronic circuit doesn't run out of power being permanently feed with electricity from the connected power grid! Besides one more advantage of using the ones mentioned by me: not only that you don't need a HUB, but there's no need of any interim devices - like the TP-Link hubs - since these switches connect with your own home Wireless router and can remotely be turned on straight away from their dedicated application!

      @vla2uv 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@michaelm2704 Google is your friend! Seeing you so amazed, you certainly have not heard of these types of intelligent switches with no NULL wire needed! But in order to find them, you will have to look for them yourself! And just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they don't exist or you shouldn't trust what I was saying!

      ZigBee caused me too many issues

      You lost me at capacitors... I wanted to automate several motorized blinds at home. So I realized I have to first install a bloody capacitor in each motor?? And that motor is installed up in the ceiling, so I don't have easy access to it. That's stupid.
      I very much like this solution. I can take care of the batteries. Quick installation, little bothering. I can do it myself.
      Who tf wants to search for contractors, get offers, pick one, wait for them to start the job, be let stood up because they are never on time, then weeks or months later I can finally control things with my smartphone. That's an odd experience.
      Batteries. Quick installation. DIY. In a day I'm done. This is a perfect solution for me.
