- The Sims 2: Open for Business let you run your own restaurant. I've never managed to make a profitable restaurant no matter how many times I've tried. So watch me try again!
I use The Sims 2 to try and make as much money selling food as I possibly can. I still don't know if this counts as me making a profitable business but I'll let you be the judge!

Not me getting excited for videos about a 20 odd year old game 😂
But it’s still soooo good
@@ryanplaysthesims it really is!
20 years old on September 14th and still better than the most recent game of the series
@@agwardddYes, hotel business in Sims 3 is disappointingly unrealistic 😂
It's a good game so it's nothing wrong about it. I have been playing it since it was launched and so do many people!
the fact that I'm more excited to see Sims 2 gameplay videos in 2024 instead of Sims 4 lol
This is so accurate lol
- Vampire dude told me this restaurant has free drinks!
- Yeaa,- throws drink into his face
Running a restaurant in the Sims 2 OFB is the HARDEST among the business types. You need a lot of workers, customers are demanding and money is hard to earn. I used to lose thousands of buck before turning a profit later.
@westanimesims I agree wholeheartedly with you. I do have a few tips to get on the fast track (well, from a snail's pace to a turtle's), to success with restaurants. Start the business after you succeeded in all others (with the same family); make it a family affair with household (meaning keep those grandparents around, and make certain that your live at home children are teens+), and always go to work together (allows full control of all workers); add in lots of entertainment items, and use the ticket machine (for the entire establishment or high entertainment rooms); have a food counter, where you sell food items (can just be desserts if you prefer); amongst the entertainment items, poker tables do generate a steady flow, as well as a DJ booth, manned by a household member. While the restaurant part itself will barely break even (if it even does), business will boom with everything else.
The businesses I love the most, are clothing boutiques (having a gold badge sewer making all the outfits), to succeed in outfitting the townies with clothing of your choice, as well as salons, to makeover all the townies (even at lower skills, the makeovers can be comical), and for my magic occult, selling reagents and items, to help build up supplies (and these establishments could remain open, days on end, if your entire staff has thrones to regenerate, unless you use mods to sync time).
I was never able to turn a profit
@@CocoaPuff01 Try adding in a gift shop. That might help.
@@TheMya1988 ty I'll try that
I ended up using the flapjack+other eatery shacks from the bon voyage expansion just to make it bearable. Adding in entertainment items and a ticket machine.
My best eatery had a night club with those eatery shacks but my heart belonged to my flower shop and I'd use University as the time to level up those time consuming badges lol.
“This is going alright” famous last words
Would love a video of you running / renovating the isla paradiso hotel in sims 3!
put more of bigfoot in your games - they make any business easier to handle, particularly to start with
I think I have as much fun watching you play the Sims 2 as I do playing it myself.
I'VE NEVER SEEN A WITCH GHOST BEFORE damn that's so cool!! She's sparkling!
This was hilarious, as always. Your videos always makes me laugh 😂 thanks!
Love the video, as usual! Rewatching all of your old lives while daily cleaning, it makes me calm 😌you need more lives because I’m running out of them 😭
i’m here so fast you haven’t even ruined your life yet
I wish Sims 4 was as random and good as Sims 2.
ahhh i loved making sims 2 restaurants as a kid...never had a successful one tho!
so glad you showed up on my algorithm because I've been looking for simmers who play older versions. i'm soo done with the Sims 4 😂 i remember seeing some of your vids on ig too!
Ryan you need to make a hotel in the sims 3! It's super fun with all the reviews and stars.
MY FAVORITE PACK! I was a 16 year old grocery store bagger when I bought the Sims 2 with my hard earned money. Such memories ❤
Never dabbled in the pack, but you're kinda making me want to play Open for Business after this and the Malcolm Landgraab video.
I also think I found an easter egg in this video since your hands were flopping around way too much this time. For the risk of being rude and audacious, I'll just shut up. If my suspicion is right, though, I'd gladly wanna be the first viewer to congratulate you! 🥳
I'm in shock right now about how similar I am to this guy! Both the same kinda age, neurodivergent, live in the Midlands, have an Irish grandparent, grew up playing the sims, have the same sims interior design tastes, hate fish, even look similar and have the same humour. So weird haha
Make a hair dresser next time :D
Also; I had the Sims 2: Pets for console back then. This pack I never tried; and it looks better.
I just know this is gonna be chaotic 😂
TS2 is so iconic!! Happy 20 year anniversay guys 🎉😂❤
SPOILER:
Fire burns the business down and kills everyone.
"I'm going to call this a qualified success."
Maybe next time spring for some sprinklers...
The dead witch being decoration omfg
bro ur always stressing its so funny
Excellent video, loved it!!
NOOOOOO IT BURNED !!!
It was all a blur, who even knows what happened?!
I love food :D
