Unboxing the Incredible Gozney Roccbox Mantel - What You Need to Know!

In this video we unbox, fit, tryout and fully review the incredible Roccbox Mantel from @gozney.
This is my first unboxing video, the packaging is so good it means that I can't get into it, so it's chaos from the offset. I show you how to fit the Roccbox mantel.
Then we then move to examining the mantel wow this is a thick piece of metal, you can see why the Mantel is priced at £59.00
The mantel is beautifully designed to fit the the Roccbox, its design simplicity is the key. There are no lips or dips between the mantel and the Roccbox. Unlike other similar products you can find, this has no drilling or or using screws.
The fitting itself is quite simple, just a case of offering the mantel to the edge of the Roccbox, ensuring that the hooks of the mantel fit behind the Roccbox front plate. Once in position its just a firm push down and the mantel clicks into place.
We now move onto the weight test. The instructions say don't use anything that has a weight of over 5kg.
We use one heavy duty cast iron pan and a cast iron griddle plate.
Both are placed on the mantel which is no issue for this fantastic piece of kit. No bending or dipping. The mantal remains flat and true to the Roccbox.
Now onto the main event. Let's get cooking.
What can I say. The next set of words I don't use very often. This official Gozney product is "a game changer."
If you cook more than just pizza in the Roccbox you'll now love the fact that lifting hot pans out of the oven to turn food, is now a thing of the past. The robust design and the thickness of the mantel, gives you the confidence to slide the pan onto the mantel allowing you time to concentrate on turning your food. No more pan stands for me. It's out, turn and back in the oven with confidence and speed.
Now I hear you ask, but Mat what about the pizza cooking? Well having the mantel now means, that you get the extra room to turn the pizza and to look at how it's cooking. Because of the slick design, the mantel surface is level with the Roccbox stone. The turning peel can rest on the mantle allowing turning closer to the edge.
Once cooled off, the disassembling is just as quick, simply push down on the mantel and simultaneously squeeze the hook that goes underneath the Roccbox. Then lift up and pull away from the Roccbox.
As a long term user of a Roccbox, would I recommend the mantel? Yes, Yes and Yes. This is what we have been waiting for since Covid lockdown, and to be honest since the Roccbox first hit the pizza oven market. The only thing that I am surprised at, is it didn't get the Gozney fanfare like some of the other products that they have launched.
To say it again the Gozney Roccbox Mantel is a game changer, at £59.00 it's worth every penny and a must buy for any Roccbox user.
