  • Owned by the Holkham Estate, this very well equipped Camping and Caravan Park is one of Norfolks finest and gives immediate access to one the UK best beaches. We hope we enjoy our recommendation, which is one of our favourite sites at our favourite Coast Line.

    We do love Wells and although Pinewoods is not the cheapest option it is by far the best located for Wells. Let us know where you like to stay in Norfolk.

    • @robnewman6101

      Pages 58 & 59.
      The pirates defeated.
      AFTER FLOURISHING FOR 5,000 years, organized piracy and privateering finally ended in the 19th century. When the century began, privateers were still a dangerous nuisance - yet the navies of big maritime powers no longer needed the help of privately owned warships.
      So in 1856 most maritime nations signed a treaty, the Declaration of Paris, banning letters of marque.
      New technology also helped to end the golden age of piracy. The 19th Century was the age of steam power, and the British and U.S. navies built steam ships that could sail almost anywhere, even on a windless day.
      Pirates, who still relied on sail, were easily trapped by the steamers. By 1850 only small pirate bands were left.

      Hi thanks for watching. I don't think you will go far wrong with this site. I think looking at your profile you have a caravan and car set up , in which an alternative is the White Hall CL (CMAC) the other side of Holkham Hall, 10 mins from Wells and in the village where Nelson was born. Not as convenient for walking into Wells but an alternative to consider. Here is a link th-cam.com/video/pKTHqui_nTs/w-d-xo.html Just to give you another option if Pinewoods is full. We did like our brief visit to Wells last year, as you say ideal site for the town but for me just too big, I’m not a fan of huge sites, very expensive too but that said we’re on our way to Swanage in a few days and the premium for wanting to be within walking distance of the town and railway and castle makes it £50 a night on grass (with electric) 😳 the most expensive site we’ve ever been on! As a man with a father from Yorkshire I’ll be having the heating on with the doors open 😉

    • @NomadicTreks
      @NomadicTreks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We agree totally, you'll be charging your power banks up full just before you home go to no doubt, it's the Yorkshire way. We used to work with folks who on leaving work would boil a kettle in the canteen and fill a flask to save boiling a kettle when they got home. We're bad but it gets worse the further North you go. 😂. It is a big site and we are with you on the smaller site preference , just location location location rules on occasions. Hi Helen & Martin, It is amazing how you keep going to places that we know well. We were at Pinewoods last week. My wife came here for the first time in 1954, after the major floods of 1953. She stayed a couple of nights in a tent with her parents. We came with our first caravan in 1976, with our 3 kids. At that time, the campsite was operated by the council and was awful, but we loved the place and have been going there ever since. Some of the walks are superb, and the coast hopper busses allow you to go further afield, or walk one way and take the bus the other.
