Would love to hear your thoughts on Squarespace vs shopify. Currently debating between the two but I absolutely hate the shopify website builder/interface. I've used Squarespace for creative portfolios and would love to use it for e-commerce, however people online seem to really prefer shopify.
Do you have a projection of how many sales you'll make in a year? Honestly if you are just starting out I would use Squarespace so that you can just charge ahead without learning a new tool. In the future you can always move your shop to a sub domain such as shop.mysite.com and host that on Shopify. If you every really needed those Shopify features. Also, what are you selling?
@@Svaren Thanks for the reply! Trying to start a small clothing and home goods line (not dropshipping) so probably not a huge number since I'll probably start with lower quantities from my manufacturer. I'm hoping Squarespace releases better e-commerce features (like auto tax calculations) to compete with Shopify in the near future.
mmmm I would look for a service that specializes in that. For example, a client has a van rental company and we use Squarespace for the whole website but the booking portion is through a different company. That booking software is embeded on a squarespace page with code. Hopefully that makes sense!

Would you use their commerce features for a vacation/ holiday home rental site?

Sounds like Squarespace is coming after Shopify!
