People don’t realize how hard it is to play Teams like Navy with their option offense. They usually control the ball 40 minutes out the game, and basically your defense has to change its scheme from its normal playbook. It may only look like a 7 point win, but Navy is way better than their 1-6 record shows

Navy was focused and trying to execute to their highest ability and Cincinnati still put up 27 points in a limited capacity. Cincinnati could and would put up 55+ on any “regular” possession time.
How did they have a tough time? They gave up 10 in the 4th by taking some starters out and giving other players a chance. 7 of the other 10 was in the first drive after some scripted trick plays caught UC off guard. after a long kick off return and a personal foul they still only managed 3 points.

Obviously Navy is not nearly as talented as other FBS schools since it's a service academy. But they play with a lot of heart, resilience, and resolve. I just wish they could recruit better talent. I'm not sure what the rules are for fulfilling your military commitment, but I'd guess that's probably a detractor for 4-5 star recruits.

The easiest place to see the difference in a truly great team and a pretender is in the trenches. Navy obviously runs a triple option offense and basically the scheme is to run the ball down the other teams throat. Teams that have NFL talent in the front 7 like Alabama Georgia and Ohio State will not allow that to happen. This is kinda the exact reason why Cincinnati ranking is by default not necessarily because of actualized talent... 5 and 4 star athletes most often are basically only going to a select few teams... Regardless of how Cincinnati playsm... There is a talent gap against teams that are contenders year in and year out.

Oklahoma and Cincinnati don't belong in the top 5 idc wat anybody says. Playoffs should be Alabama Georgia Michigan Ohio State. They are by far the best teams in the best conferences. These other teams don't have to play ANYBODY! Id put cinccy close to top 5 just couz of there coach but they'll get exposed against the big boys

Not gonna lie that would be awesome. Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State. That would be historic. It won’t happen because teams in the same co Terence naturally play each other and eliminate each other, but that would be very fun. It’s just that the Midwest teams barrow it down to only one from the big 10, the southern teams (usually) marrow it down to one team (sometimes two because they’re so dominant). And usually one team from the east coast. Those big names would be an awesome matchup, but they’ll eliminate each ither
Look Cincinnati don’t belong Number 2 in the country. They play nobody the weakest schedule in the country. They beat a weak Norte Dame and that’s been it and a pillow soft schedule the rest of the way. What a pathetic joke just to help keep Norte Dame up there. Michigan State is the true number 2.

The easiest place to see the difference in a truly great team and a pretender is in the trenches. Navy obviously runs a triple option offense and basically the scheme is to run the ball down the other teams throat.
Teams that have NFL talent in the front 7 like Alabama Georgia and Ohio State will not allow that to happen. This is kinda the exact reason why Cincinnati ranking is by default not necessarily because of actualized talent... 5 and 4 star athletes most often are basically only going to a select few teams... Regardless of how Cincinnati playsm... There is a talent gap against teams that are contenders year in and year out.
