Dave, just got mine.... 2022 MDX Advance in Fathom Blue Pearl with Graystone leather interior. I can't say enough about it!!! Although styling is Subjective, the redesign of the MDX is Spectacular !! , More Muscular, enhanced Drive platform /suspension , new 10Speed AT , new brakes, very comfortable seating , a nighttime Light Show, great digital instruments, fantastic 16 speaker ELS Sound system (in my Advance)..... on and on. I'm 70 years old in October, and getting this SUV 2 weeks ago, still feel like a 12 year old at XMAS who just got the Best Bicycle made. I haven't been this excited about my new car( and I have had many of them), since getting a 2007 Infiniti G35 which was the Best car I ever had at that time. I reserve the word LOVE for people not Things... However, I REALLY LIKE this car !!! Very pleased with my purchase (actually a early lease termination of my 2019 MDX which had "equity" of $3K plus the $1K Loyalty $$$ from Acura "pushed me" in this direction). It is just about Head Over Heels a very good 2019 MDX in every way except for the Touch Pad Interface... I am getting used to it, but Acura should include BOTH Touch Screen and a Touch Pad.

And another reviewer said, and the top notch salesman at the dealership emphasized, yiou can control everything from the Steering Wheel too !!! A complete winner would be a Dual System : Touch pad and a Touch screen !!

My family has been a Honda family since 1984. My favorite Honda of all-time was my Dad's 1995 Acura Legend V6 MT. I bought it from him in 2005 and drove it for another 10 years. Sadly it eventually died with 278,996 miles on the odometer. I've owned four Honda's with my current driveway housing a 2008 Honda Odyssey EXL, a 2017 Honda Accord Touring V6, and now a 2023 Acura MDX /Tech.
You just cannot beat Honda products and Acura is just that much better.

Although, from another site - initial orders are going through the Roof. I would do this model , not the S type in a Nano second had they Pumped the HP and torque on the base engine. The HP is actually good, but could use more torque. The S type take it to another level. Something in between would be the Absolute Clincher for me.

I went to see the A-spec yesterday. I had the an RDX and I liked it but wanted more for the price point at the time. There is some specs on the MDX that does not compare to the others in the class...good and bad. I did not test drive the vehicle the visit was purely vision and walkthrough features. At the luxury and price point I expected the power fold-down of the third row, the piano black is annoying, it is kind of cramped on the second two seating and I stand at 5ft 9in. Although it is larger than my RDX I had. Aesthetically it is a beautiful car, the price is not too crazy compared to other quoted luxury vehicles at a much higher price. Acura engineer why must you press to talk instead of being able to say "hey google" button free.

Seats are poor quality and I have the top trim Advance 22 MDX. Leather is worn like it's been used for 5 years after 2 weeks of intended use. The seats are not supportive and mushy. The ride is too rough with a very sensitive bouncy suspension. Other than that it's an okay ride. I'd stick with Toyota Lexus tho until they work out the kinks. My 15 Highlander was a more comfy and better ride but not as modern with all the tech features. Gas mileage also sucks. I'm getting about 17/18 mpg in mixed driving. Not a bad hiwhway cruiser but damn Acura, fix the suspension...it's way to rough and bouncy on city roads!

I drove both last week. The looks are very similar. The packaging is much better in the MDX and more family friendly in the MDX. Exterior dimensions are almost identical but the Acura has more cargo space and better room in all three rows. Things like that reversible cargo floor and removable seat are gold for families. I thought it drove a little better than the Mazda but the Mazda is a much better value with great controls that also drives very well. The Acura does have a more comfortable front seat (for me) as I found some hard plastic that my leg naturally leaned against on the door of the CX9.

I don’t mind the touch pad. Took a couple trips playing with it but doesn’t take long to learn. I am frustrated with Acura however with some of the options they left off the technology package making you drop ~7k to get while competitors include them for less. Not to mention no years of map updates free with purchase. Lastly, can we stop pretending that all these “safety” features are something to drool about when all cars in this class include them and Acura’s flavor is annoying? My 2022 loves slamming on the breaks when the car in front of me moves to an off ramp and slows down. Annoying and dangerous!

No hybrid?! Yeah, Honda is digging a hole for themselves. Instead of electrifying their vehicles, like most car companies are doing, they are actually not producing electric vehicles like their competitors. Why not a plug-in hybrid and all-electric MDX?!? Toyota's RAV4 Prime and Audi's e-trons are a great example of the direction Honda should be taking. Yeah this is the best looking MDX to date, but the engine (as extremely reliable as it may be) is a gas-guzzling dinosaur. This is 2021. Even though we're in the middle of a global pandemic, we can't forget that there's a huge global climate CRISIS going on that we DESPERATELY need to address. And diminishing the amount of electric vehicles in your fleet is NOT the way to go!! Huge thumbs down HONDA!! If Honda doesn't get their act together (and soon) they too will go the way of the dinosaurs. And it will be their own fault. Deservedly so.

    • @trumpisastump9382
