A Tele might be your best option, versatility wise. Well made, practically indestructible, great sound - if I had to own just one electric guitar, it'd be this one. I mean, I own six, but you understand. A Tele will never let you down, unlike Kirk Cousins.

I've been firmly in the Strat camp for a long time. The Tele keeps speaking to me. As I've gotten older my ear is more in tune with the subtler tones from Tele's and single coil Strats as opposed to the all out shred machines that I was drawn to in the 90s. The one thing that turned me off of Tele's were the saddles and fear of fighting to get decent intonation. At some point I realized that if intonation was truly a big issue this guitar wouldn't have survived so long. Not sure what I'll be getting next, a Tele or Princeton amp.
If you buy a Tele, you won't be disappointed. The only regret for me is I'm a lefty so passing it down to my grandchildren would be a problem. I don't think any of them are lefties.

Nope they never made one but Jazzmasters are similar and they made a professional 2 series for that one if you want something to that vein :)

His name is Ryosuke Nagaoka, and he’s a member of a group called Tokyo incidents(much recommended) He also regularly plays for Hoshino gen and Sheena ringo. You can find all of their music on Spotify. He also has his own group called Petrolz, but you probably won’t be able to find their music on Spotify. You can listen to some of their music on TH-cam if you just type in “Petrolz”
You can also just copy and paste “ペトロールズ“
