Pro and indie Japanese guitarists have a noticeably different approach to the instrument, usually well versed in 80s rock, funk and jazz, with a preference for fast staccato rhythms. It's almost as if for them, Nirvana never disrupted the 80s, but was incorporated into it and kept going

This dude is one of my favorite guitarists even though I have trouble finding his material. But Battle Without Honor or Humanity and Bad Feeling are two great, great songs.
It’s amazing how they were invented in the very late 1940’s, and yet Telecasters are still a hot guitar 70 years later. Truly a work of art by Leo Fender.
Tonight I watched an awesome movie from 1998 called "Samurai Fiction" and one of the stars was Tomoyasu Hotei whom I'd never heard of. Threw his name in a TH-cam search and got the theme for "Kill Bill." What? Then a video of him playing with a symphony orchestra, and that led me here. In one night I've become a fan!
Anyone else notice him still "playing" when he is sat talking? It's like the moment he touches a guitar his hands just want to start, like an instinct...truly amazing, at least, I think so...
Man.. I was about to say:"What about Michiya Haruhata who has been fender artist all these years?" But nevermind.. I found his video. Thank you Fender. :)

Saw him play at the Troubadour back in 2016. It was a sold out show, damn near overbooked. Hotei has the best live Stratocaster tone I have ever heard in my life. Ever.
Brain: You don’t need another guitar. Also Brain: Damn, that’s a nice looking Tele. Love that ‘Texas Tea’ colour and that white binding really makes it pop; gives the guitar definition and accentuates the contours. Sexy AF!!! And I love a rosewood fingerboard on a Telecaster (and every other instrument with strings, frets and a fingerboard, for that matter). That’s one nice-looking, yet at the same time, bad-ass guitar. Wish I was still gigging so I could justify the purchase. I would play the living crap out of that guitar. It would definitely be my number one stage/ live guitar. The perfect Telecaster.
What a sharp, cutting tone... but that's what you have to deal with when you listen to MIJ music. Personally I prefer the Finnish sound so much more; still Hotei is a beast!

How have I never heard of this guy?! He’s a beast player!

Binding and rosewood fingerboard make a telecaster a real beauty, not that it isn't already but it adds that extra sauce

Somehow that guitar got 1,637.4% cooler with Tomoyasu playing it. ;-)
Fender should report the gear used in these demos, amps and effects, too.
they only use marshalls and bogner effects for these vids

The Guitar looks great with the binding but I am very happy with my Player Series Telecasters. 👍🏻🎸🎶
