    Enjoying the videos a lot. My dad and I are about to take the injection pump off our R model Mack because when you start it it tries to run away. These videos are like a preview to what I'm going to be doing for the first time.

      It's not as bad as it looks, just make sure you have the manual for the timing spec.

    I’ve just done this job on my Australian delivered ts115a. Everything looks the same, and comes apart the same until you try to pull the pump off. Mine has a plate on the other side of the casting, almost under the cab, remove the plate, and there is a 21mm nut to remove from the shaft, then I had to make a plate to go across the shaft with 2 bolt holes, for a puller to get the drive gear off the injector pump shaft because the drive gear on mine is approximately 120mm diameter and can’t come out with the pump. It all has to be done by feel, I used cardboard to make impressions of the bolt heads to get my puller plate the right size. If you have to do it like this, I recommend you get high tensile bolts, I bent my plate and stretched one of my bolts, if that bolt had broken, I would have been in the shit, possibly need to lift the cab to get it out.

    agree that if u suspect something may have gotten clogged somewhere in the injection system you may as well rebuild the injectors as well as the pump, nobody would want to have to tear it back apart, as well I like how your taking a tractor that may not have had an easy life and giving it the attention that's likely to have been long overdue soo it has a good chance at a long second life

    I would definitely replace that lift pump to I've heard if they start to go bad it will starve the injection pump for fuel had that happen on a dump truck with a Cummins in it one time ended up replacing both.had one go bad on a newholland TL90A with low hrs it just quit running looks like same exact pump. Great video thanks for posting can't wait to see it finished!

    • @GuyinWY
      @GuyinWY  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The gentleman at the injection shop said these are usually damaged by low fuel pressure due to either plugged filters or a failed lift pump.

    • @leebarnes655
      @leebarnes655 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the gentleman at the IP shop already. Our TS110 has an electric lift pump instead. So now I'm wondering if one of those oil pressure shutdown switches could be made to work on the line between the pumps to just kill the engine when fuel pressure drops there? Save the next IP? Cheap insurance no matter what it costs, really. If you are thinking about going electric can I recommend a E8057 subaru pump? It's an on demand thumper with points and coil on one end and pump on the other, when pressure has been achieved, it quits thumping. And thereby one knows you have 7 PSI fuel pressure by instant feedback. 50$ and that will compete nicely with the mechanical at dealer prices.

    Need to use a suitable tool to pin time engine. Maybe a inverted drill bit or rod of the right size. A Phillips screw driver @ 6.26 in your video is not going to get it dead on. Pin must accurately stop the flywheel in place.

    Great videos! I have my own TS 115a issues. It was losing power when working ground the other day and I thought they ran it low on fuel. I fought getting it started, but after bleeding at the injectors I got it started. It will idle for several minutes, but it will not throttle up. Any ideas? I'm leaning toward IP issues.

    First thing you should do is blow all the dirt off the head around the injectors. NEVER EVER bend an injection line. The passage inside them is very small and can be damaged easily. Bending one can even cause an engine miss.

    I watched this video which was great but did not show where and how many oil rings where to be used. There are groves for two but when you removed the injector I only saw 1 O ring on the injector. Help. I just paid 2 thousand dollars for 4 brothers tractor garage to fix my TRactor. They failed returned it to me still not working. They did not put o rings on the injectors Out of money I have a neighbor helping me check there work. I am relying on these videos to see if I can fix it. The garage did not put o rings on the injectors. My tractor is a New Holland T4.75 Powerstar.

  • @Equiluxe1
    @Equiluxe1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have never seen a pump with a locking bolt, all the engines I have worked on have had a drive shaft with one spline that is extra wide so that it only goes in one position. you can pull the injection pump in any position and when it goes back you can rotate the engine or pump to get the spline to slide in and as long as the scribe mark on the engine is aligned with the one on the pump the timing is dead on. I supose it is done different in the US or is that just that make of tractor.

    • @GuyinWY

      +Equiluxe1 it varies by engine and pump. This tractor was actually built in England.

    Man, I'm so sorry you are going through all of this effort to get that machine running again. So I am wondering if this number of problems is a result of hard work by the machine, poor manufacture of certain parts, poor maintenance or cheap materials on the machine. are you sending injectors and pump direct to repair specialist or through someone else who will take a cut and the reason I am asking is I always deal direct with firms and not only diesel specialist but engine machine shops and radiator repairers but I have just thought about something and that is you are probably long distance from these places.

    • @GuyinWY
      @GuyinWY  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Directly to an injection shop.

  • @newjerseybill3521
    @newjerseybill3521 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I stand corrected, in a previous video I thought this was a Cummins. When I noticed the injector pump driven off the back of the engine, I was like, wait a minute!! Turns out it is an Iveco / FPT (Fiat Powertrain) 6.7L It's scary how all the companies are inbred these days!!

      +New Jersey Bill I thought it was a Cummins as well, good to know the real story.

    I bet those injectors aren't cheap

    • @chevyon37s
      @chevyon37s 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Donald Ellett really depends on the engine. Some injectors are pretty stupid expensive, others can be had for very reasonable prices like for the Cummins 5.9L.

    • @GuyinWY
      @GuyinWY  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Donald Ellett I've found rebuilt injectors for around $90 each.

    wooh, 3-4- weeks is going to be long way to wait the final fire-up with the new pump... :)
    .... why don't you drive the tractor downhile in the meantime, where it doesn't need the engine running.. :D (jst kidding)
