- We are using this brand new beach fishing rig to target some BIG fish! This rig can catch all sorts of species and has a secret technique that helps to avoid it getting tangled or snagged. This fishing rig is super simple to tie and helped me land a BIG one today! Have you ever used a rig like this before? What did you catch?
This week, we are camping on the beach in North Carolina and I’m getting antsy. I am still looking to catch that BIG keeper. This new rig in combination with my own Squidy Bits bait is my secret weapon. These two used together caught me SO MANY fish today! Not to mention I get to end the day on a pretty satisfying catch.

One of the biggest reason I watch you besides the information, is you’re not a jerk or a know it all. You’re doing a good job keep it up!
Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed your page over the last two years! Between my health issues and the pandemic I’ve not been able to get on the beach much but seeing you and your family fishing has been extremely entertaining. Keep it up! I look forward to your new posts every week. THANKS!
Thank you two a lot... God bless you always...!!! *From Brazil... I love fishing too...!
I’ve surf fished NC beaches my entire life. This is an ingenious rig. I’d use fluorocarbon for the snell leader. I’ve salted my shrimp for 55 years. I got my first Sputnik’s at Hatteras many years ago. They often come in handy in rough NC surf. Great video. I always enjoy your common sense approach to fishing as well as your sense of humor!
Headed 4 BIP middle of March ! It's the place 2B 4 fun & Fishing ! Glad U found NC !
Brilliant!!
Very nice video mate as always keep it up
Fish flips - Skipper "now that its dead". LOL
Nice rig ,Skipper thank you !
You and your fiancee are the best at surf fishing bravo ☺
I’ve been making my own leader rigs for a long time now. I like this design as you can space your hook links further apart. Even make multiple hook links. I also sometimes use a swivel on the hook to leader connection and don’t see any extra tangling. Great video !
Great video guys thanks again god bless you and your family
I liked the video just bc you mentioned the Sinker Guy. So awesome watching you guys both skyrocket!
Greetings from The UK. Nice Rig, it obviously works so I'm definitely going to give it a try. Thanks for a great video.
I too learn every time I go out and have been doing it for over 50 years. I'm going to try this rig for pier fishing.
Learned that rig from the same guy, it really is so easy to tie and have a bunch of back ups, it’s all I use now
Two hook flapper connected to a break-out grip lead. It's been the standard here in the UK for beach & pier fishing for 50yrs. You had a terrific session. Nice one Skipper. 😀👍🍀🐟
I was just going to say the same thing.
Amazing video, you're so professional....and your truck is fantastic!
Uhuiii fisherman out there.....wishing you have a good day
Its been really fun watching you grow in your skill and knowlege of fishing
Thanks! It’s been a fun journey
Do you have any Rod full set?? To selling? ?
I go down every year and do the same thing with my truck. Hardly anyone on the beach. So peaceful and chill.
What time of year?
@@oatmeal63 June or July usually
Great video and thanks for the new rig knowledge! Chip @the sinker guy is awesome. Best Sputnik’s I own. Y’all are a great team and a blast to watch
Wow I always learn from your channel. Thank you
Hey Skipper, thanks mate for the ideas. from Australia :)
I see you've added the pendulum swing of the weight as you cast! Fantastic! That is vital to getting the longest cast, while incorporating the left handed "pull/snap"!
If your going to continue fishing here,, remember the weakfish that you caught, is the grey trout. The speckled sea trout, is also a weakfish, and both are in the drum family!
The weakfish, Cynoscion regalis and Cynoscion nebulosus, the spotted seatrout are 2 different fish they look different as well.
Definitely going to give this rig a try! Thank you!
I love this rig too
I'm going snapper fishing from the shore tomorrow. I'm gonna try that rig! Greetings from Puerto Rico. 👍
Good luck!
13:15 probably the most important element is location...beach structure structure structure.
Just left south of Hatteras, OINC. Week one lotta puppy d. Next week mostly flounder which u can’t keep, a few drum or two on cpl days day, pampano whiting. ,
Love your videos, and your tutorials are my fix as I’m back to the Midwest.
Thanks.
Great idea, as soon as I saw it, I wondered why I hadn't thought of it.
I learn so much from you and others I watch with rigs and bait and I've used a lot of it
Seafu master with the hard slings 😁👍🏽 learn alot from you! We are all learning for sure.
Wow, one of the coolest rigs I’ve ever seen!
Greetings from the OBX . Another great video. Always fun to watch. Tight Lines!!
Oh my gosh, that’s a really cool
Rig.
Life changing! 👍🏼😊
I made a Mackerel Sabiki Rig using this method. Thanks!
great video. i think the most appreciated thing you said for me was that we didn’t catch anything for 2 days and sometimes the fish just want other bait on a given day. makes a lot of sense with my recent trip to OBX and local fishing trips in MD! going fishing tomorrow AM near the mouth of the Patapsco 🤞🏽
NICE INFOMATION THANKS CATCH MORE
Croakers are tasty even at that size. But they also make great bait for monsters!
Im always watching your video every week, fishing is also my hobby hear in kuwait
the highlow rig and fish finder rig will always be my goto for baiting the beach
Look into using crimps, beads, and swivels to tie that rig. It's built bottom lead clip, crimp, bead, swivel, bead, crimp. then repeat the crimp, bead, swivel, bead, crimp as many times as you want on the main rig body. This allows the hook length to move 360° around the rig body with no tangles and gives you the quick change on hooks.
Weakfish are also called yellow-mouthed trout or summer trout.Great video!
awesome session off the beach hope to see you land a giant redfish in the future!
Awesome episode!!! Thanks!
Man! That new rig is a game changer. Can’t wait to try it! Way to spread the knowledge guys!!
Oh great job by the way. Lots of fun to had surf fishing.
Nice rig. THANKS Skipper
I’m really liking this rig ! Love the video and I’m going try this rig this weekend !
Thnx for the video guys
Wow something we've been using for over 30yrs.2 hook or 3 hook flapper.have a look at UK sea fishing rigs.👍
Hey Skipper. I always make knots wet before I tighten them to prevent heat. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Good tutorial friend.. killer beach fishing rig
You are learning to be a better fisherman. That trick you learned goes back further than my 63 years. Good luck and tight lines friend.
This is extremely helpful, thank you!
Well done man! Good job! I like all your videos!
Very nice! Thanks for the great video!
13:51 you havent caught fish in 2 days?!
Thank goodness, I thought you catch something every time you are out...I thought I've been doing something wrong with my rigs, bait etc...at least I know even the best can go without fish on an outing..
Ive been using this rig for river fishing since i was 7, and every time we go fishing we catch either walleye or goldeye or sucker fish or mooneye. Because the first hook sits near the bottom, the second sits near the middle so any suckers and any walleye or something else will bite. Greeting from calgary
New Truck 😍
I’m a newbie to your channel. Love your vids.
Just answered all my questions from your last video. Thanks
Its new knowledge for me, thanks a lot, love it man
Nice that's where I live, makes it so easy, I have a locked lid on my truck, so always packed and ready to go, just change out ice and drinks. For longer casts give the BC1 breakaway cannon a whirl, great when throwing heavy weight and braided line.
I’m 62 and I’m learning from you. I’ve been fishing since I was a little guy
Nice stuff. Good job.
I live and fish the Massachusetts coastline. It gets rocky around here and this style rig is Sometimes essential
Thoroughly enjoyed your video all the best
Nice video sir. Thanks again.I love every second of this video!
way to catch em up
I like that going to try. Thanks
Amazing rig!
Hella yea dude love the video
Interesting set-up. I've always used the high low rig but not like this. Will start using it the next time I go out.
I've been really just enjoying using fishbites when surf fishing, its super durable and catches fish. I just come with every flavor and try them all out.
Hey Skipper, can u make a video on how to do beach fishing. How to choose the spot. The right time and abt waves.
I still have a picture of a pompano I caught in Destin Fl of a bite in its side. Being somewhat new to fishing, I had to look up what bit it... pretty cool.
I aways like to try different rigs when I go fishing weather if it's lake fishing or sea fishing thanks for sharing your video's I'm sure to be trying that rig this weekend, and nice fishes
Definitely going to try this , this Saturday off the pier
Most part it did fish just wasn't biting
Nice rig. Will definitely try it..
Very cool, thanks for the video. It's not a "new rig" though. It's essentially a hi lo rig, but instead of using dropper loops, you are attaching a separate line with a hook. Anytime I go out on a party boat from Brooklyn, they always tie the rig this way (they do it very fast though, so I never learned it). This is the standard setup for porgies, blues, and anything else that's swimming around the party boat. As for the sputnik sinker, I will definitely have to get some for this coming season. We fish some rocky bottoms sometimes and I hate losing sinkers (both because of the environmental aspect and the fact that I run out).
Wow,, nice catch.
I was watching this and I saw him tie the two simple knots and I thought to my self "Is he tying a helicopter rig". Sure enough he did, a simpler version mind you. But I have been using this rig for carp fishing in weedy areas for a few years. Nice to see a re-imagining of it to use in saltwater.
A thought on knot cinching; a bit of spit on the knot can allow the knot to be cinched tighter, and smoother, without friction generating heat...
I learned this as the Morticians Rig.. from the Fishin Mortician. The way I learned was knots should be figure 8, since overhand knots tend to cut in on themselves. I attach the circle hooks with a rapala loop knot, it tends to let the circle hook rotate faster versus direct tying or snelling for me. Thanks for these videos from a fellow Marylander and Cal Poly grad!
The sinker guy also learned that rig from the fishing mortician
Maybe the idea of the over hand is to purposely weaken the line so if it does break, it’s in a good spot.
@@gibbyrockerhunter smart!
That Mortician Rig is truely a winner as it allows me to throw out a 6oz Sinker without a shock leader providing my main line is up to the task
Love this rig 👍🏼
Man thank you so much. I have learn so much from your videos. Your a special person. To share you experience and knowledge. Give a man a fish he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he can eat for life.
Ur vlogs are very magic touching ...i just watched one video ...then i addicted to watch all other videos ...really nice vlogs brother....best wishes ....
Bites his tag off, then immediately reaches for the scissors to cut line...LOL
Grandiose man , j'ai bien aimé votre vidéo , un contenu très instructif et très bien expliqué
Je vous suis de l’Algérie
This is just my opinion ; there is not a good or bad bait,it all depends on where you are ? and what kind of fish that are you trying to catch? Also the climate has a huge factor too.
I love fishing I hope you all the best .
Great video
I like this rig! Thanks for sharing. You guys are awesome! Hoping to take my wife to the Georgia coast to surf fish soon! Stay safe!
Good luck!
I like those sputnik sinkers. I bought 10 of them in different weights because of your videos
nice video. it doesnt matter how many style hook, rig, size, strong or whatever. the important answer is either fish bite or not bite. 😍🤩
Glad to purchase your product and support the local American. Keep doin what ya doin!!
Maybe I'll run into ya on the coast for the blue & drum run!
Following the reports, people are starting to hook into some big Citation drum!!
Good video!!
Excellent 👍
You should do a catch clean cook for the fried fish sandwich you guys always mention that would make a great video! Love the content keep it coming!
