Gothic Challenge Runs, creative Playthroughs etc. - เกม
Gothic games are some of my all time favorite games, so anyone doing videos on these games and providing information about them gets a thumbs up from me. Heck, anyone of you who still play them and also love them - you're great people with good taste, respect to you all :)

I just started playing gothic 2 and honestly its a bit too addictive; coming from a world of warcraft player with 21 and 14 days played time on my previous characters
@@martynat.8903Yeah,. there's something in Gothic games. The feeling, the environment. Sure they're way old and way outdated by nowadays standards, they have their quirks but still, even after all these years I still play them now and again and enjoy each and every time.
Sideways running counts also as sneaking, way more reliable tgan jumping imo

The title did not lie, theese are some actual useful tips!
I'd also add a few: either when doing the guard skip or doing it legit and swimming around to get the 500 xp from Lares you can get out of the city through the east gate and go back around to the south gate and talk with the guard as if you didn't get into the city yet which allows you to get another 100 xp if you tell him that you have plants for the alchemist. Also there is a way to never take fall damage, you need to strafe off the ledge and start strafing in both directions at once the moment you are off the ground.
Also for really easy early XP you can do the following:
Take 4 fireball spells from around xardas's tower, which will allow you to kill the guard that you need to kill to get the swamp weed package from, you won't have enough mana to cast 4 fireballs but you can do two things:
1. You can get the +10 mana ring from a corpse that has two destroy undead spells, right of the tower with bandits.
2. Simply stand near the cannon on the left of the building, he will 90% of times get stuck and you can eat some weed for mana.
What you can also do is easily beat up the cartographer, you can loot some maps from him, he has no weapons and he gives 300 XP.
I noticed that the 'combat exploits' came natural to me after a while of playing, since the game forces you hard to find viable solutions for staying alive. It was almost second nature at one point (especially after all those fights I had to reload over and over xD) and I really didn't had to think too hard about it and just went with the flow. Now that you explained the steps I can conceptualize it a little better ;)

@@MrSuperProoo didnt knew the humaniod trick my counter was simpy make a double block and sneak in a hit after or for harder enemies like bulco and sentenza i used sleep or iceblock for the duell

what i liked to do was to give myself a "head-start" of the game like this: start the game, collect everything you can, and also you can help Cavalorn with the bandits, but after that, I went straight to VoM (some healing potions and 1/2 snapper weed are indicated), and do Diego's quest. basically, I'm using him to kill a lot of monsters and orcs for xp (the healing potions mentioned earlier are for Diego) on the way to the pass. this way you can start right back from the Xardas's tower (because you can use almost the same trick used to go in VoM in the first place) having lvl9 or more and lots of learning points to use.
yea thats also very effective and also glitchless. I liked to do that Diego quest also at the beginning. You can also lure him into the dragon areas when you hit him. Also you can kill the orc ring around the castle if you lure orcs by and run in circles so he can shoot. You probably know that. Thanks for the comment.

there is one useful tip that misses. when you fight groups of enemies run till you see they stop when they start put back their weapons wait till only one the one in front is left with his weapon in hand, now stop running in this instand and only he will still follow you now let him run a little bit longer so he wont trigger the others on his/your first attack. the most basic but also the most useful tip in this game
While I get the tips for all the gold related stuff, it's pointless when you're working for Harad. Just make a shit ton of swords and sell them, steel is infinite in several ways.
1. Just beat Carl over and over again when he gets to the anvil.
2. Take out your weapon with '1' key after you choose the sword you want to make. This puts the sword in your inventory, but doesn't take away your steel. Even better, it GIVES you one steel.
Also, killing half of the town and thieves for some gold or early militia cuts the experience you can get in the long run - you can join their guild for quests and therefore more exp and gold, AND you don't get the experience from the prophet guy (Abdyuin or whatever his name is).
With Lehmar you can just beat him up normally, give his book to Coragon, buy it from Coragon, give it to Thorben, buy it from Thorben, then give it to Hannah. No need to kill him outright - you can beat him up AND kill him with a bow for duoble exp.
Daron stats don't matter - gold is infinite.
Thats all right what you said, the tips are not for a normal playthrough but more if you really want to rush the game. I really enjoy that double Firerain right after entering khorinis and do it almost every run I start.
Some of these were really handy to know, especially the shortcut to Berengar's farm (that will save me so much time as a Mercenary) and the easy way to wipe out the thieves guild.
I'd like to add that you can get an extra 150-200 Exp (I don't know exactly how much) from entering the City, bringing the grand total to around 800 Exp, if you give the farmer clothes to Greg. If you speak to Lester first and gather 10 healing herbs, you'll be given the option to tell the guards at the gate that you're picking herbs. If you go around the city into the sea (or use the exploit in the video) and talk to Lares to get the 500 Exp, you can still tell the guards that you're picking herbs by going back out of the city (DO NOT talk to Lothar) and letting them stop you like normal, getting you 50-100 Exp. You must not be wearing any armour. Afterwards, talking to Lester again will give another 50 Exp and then going to Constantino and asking to sell herbs to him will get you another 50 Exp.
It's nothing nearly as good as the tips in this video, but for anyone who wants to min-max or wants a slightly easier start, I find the extra Exp quite useful.

Another helpful trick is when you are pursuit by group of orcs, after while they will stop running, andthey will shout on you. If you stop running they will continue pursuit. If you continue running they will sheath weapon and go back, once sheath weapon orc is no longer agro on you. Trick is that they dont sheath weapon at same time so if you look back and watch them you can stop running after part of orcs sheath weapon, only orcs with drawn weapons will continue pursuit.
this works for humans and group beasts too

To get pass the town gate guards, there is no need to use strafe or waste a field crawler to lure the guard away. Just walk to the side of one of the guard facing the town wall, turn towards the guard and walk straight in to the town. The "hit box" for the gate guards to stop you is only on the bridge, so long you don't enter the town from the bridge, they won't stop you.
5:35 You can jump on Adanos' temple, and then on the ground. It is safier. Just climb not on the wall You climbed, but on the one that is closer to entrance to upper quarter sideway.
not sure f the thieves guild one is such a good one, you lose out on a lot of exp from that seer guy that tells you every chapter a bit of what you have to do, you get loads of exp from talking to him every chapter...... also you miss out of free beer, you can basically get an endless supply of it from thedude in the square

To Nr. 18 i usually spam block until get attack and then strike, after one hit wait little bit to be sure second one dont come after two hit combo you can hit straight.

Good stuff. Dunno why you're calling the combat techniques "exploits", though.
Strictly speaking, you CAN counterattack after a single enemy strike. Some strikes are safe, some are not, just gotta recognize which is which. The left-strike is never safe.
thanks and yea, the combat is more a technique then a exploit thats right. Most players dont know tho that there is a pattern
@MarkusRamikin Interesting, mind sharing more about the combat? Like which is safe and which is not.
@@5mwa You really have to learn it by observation, but for the most part, the left-strike is unsafe, while a downward attack, if not *immediately* followed with a second one, is safe. Still, there are subtle differences in behaviours between certain kinds of opponents, so you gotta pay attention and do some trial and error.
If I use the early Valley of Mines and try to clear everything there (except dragons, of course), will those enemies respawn in chapter 2? Just thinking of ways to maximise the EXP

How do you do that super high jump on to the town wall? What keys do you use?
I just do a normal climb with ALT.
also thats the absolute maximum height from wich you can jumo without dying.

That's not true. And it would be wring anyway, imagine if you legitimately went to town through back gates, then reached Lares yet he still wonders how you get here and gives you 500 XP for swimming.

Nr 4 works just fine without pulling the mob first. Just jump to the point you jumped to anyway and walk behind the guard.

I remember a simple exploit that allowed you to cancel the animation for picking up objects from the ground, picking them instantly, but I don't remember how it was done. Anybody remembers?

die Standard Gothic 2 einstellung bedeutet, dass du mit gezogener Waffe nur linksklicken musst für Vorwärtsattacken. Schau mal in den Einstellungen. Anderweitig ist es aber nicht belegbar soweit ich weiß. Vllt gibt es dafür mods aber ich gehe davon aus das es nicht funktioniert.

I lire all the orcs that gather around the old camp and then I kill them all with the fire rain. I have to save multiple times during the run because orca elite can kill you with one hit.

i cant replicate trick number 5. any advice?
All you need to do is hold left or right, nothing else. The NPC will first start talking to you once you stand still. But Gothic 1 & 2 are very buggy and can act different when you have old systempacks/not all patches or extra patches.
Doesn’t killing innocent people for tip No. 9 prevent you to hire avatars in the end as a crew?
no not at all. Only Vatras can get mad, be the first time he warns you. But he is replacable

ich denke das ist zum einem etwas Zufallsbasiert, aber man kann ja neuladen zur Not. Zum anderen würde ich mich einfach in seine nähe stellen. Der Dämon triggert auf das dichteste Ziel und der Mord wird dem Dämon angehängt ^^

Is that normal that i am at Chapter 4 and I still cannot kill an ork? I have 89 str and almoat 500 hp and I am in knight armor. I use one handed with 50. Can someone help? It is quite annoying...😢😢😢
Orcs always stay hard. Its the easiest if you dont Level up anything else then one combat skill. So no sneaking, stealing etc. Try to lure them 1 by 1 and use some scrolls. You will get many Level ups. It should get easier with more strength. Maybe 33% onehanded would be enough and rest in strength

There is another problem. My saves got imported to another pc. And it strips me from my one handed skills. I was able to move my sword in circules. My skill is 50. But i cannot do that no longer. How am I able to manage this :/
@@milanjazbincsek155 transfering these files either works or does not. So they are either are able to load correctly or not. Thats atleast what i would think. Also i dont know if there are versions of the game wich change that animation stat threshold. I also think its 60% needed for one handed master moveset. But its a long time i played gothic 2 melee. Maybe you used a weapon that increases the onehanded skill, like a rapier.I played it mostly with a bow and then everything in dex, thats the easiest way to play the game cause the bow always crits.

Hallo, are you going to have more letsplays in german/english from gamese like Ghotic? I'm recently lerning deutsch as my 3rd language, so Its very usefull to watch some stuff I know to comprehend lack of knowledge in new language, just to improve lerning curve. I did this with my english years ago, and so I will try with deutsch right now. Would be nice to know if its worth to subsribe you. :D

it doesnt got patched really, should work in most version, espacially if you don't use any mods, cause the mod creators often like to remove fun exploits.
how is number 16 an exploit its just normal combat mechanics, and how is it hard?
same with number 18, wtf guys youre supposed to use the fighting mechanics like this normally not just spam mouse clicks
@@BeHappyTo no idea, Nr 18 i just thought i include it. My friend didn't knew it and was glad when I showed him. I also see many streamers having no plan how to fight with any tactics. At Nr 16 you can get like 7 hits on an orc wich can be used very effectively.

i would advice against killing carl the blacksmith. especially if you are a blacksmith yourself, you can get free smithing materials from him just wait until he works and knock him down, loot him and repeat

@@MrSuperProoo Ich gehe am Anfang zu Zuris und kaufe mir eine Untote vernichten Spruchrolle. Dann gehe ich aus dem östlichen Stadttor und folge dem Pfad zu Jacks Leuchtturm hoch zu Niclas.
Hinter ihm auf der kleinen Anhöhe liegt ein Skelett mit zwei weiteren Untoten vernichten Spuchrollen und ein Ring der Erleuchtung.
Dann gehe ich zu den Banditen hinter Sekobs Hof und versuche unbeschadet den schmalen Holzbalken auf dem Zelt zu überqueren, der auf einen Felsvorsprumg führt. Da liegt ein Feuerregen, ein Geschicklichkeitstrank.
Dann hab ich alles was ich brauche um in die versteckte Krypta hinter Onars Hof zu gehen. Ich vernichte die drei Skelettwächter, plündere als erstes die mittlere Truhe.
Wenn alle drei Truen geplündert sind, ohne dass ich von den gespawnten Skelettmagiern erwischt worden bin, renne ich wieder in die Mitte und warte, dass Inubis spawnt. Wenn alle Untoten gespannt sind, wird der Feuerregen gecastet. Der vernichtet all Untoten, selbst Schsttenlord Inubis.
Diese Aktion bringt knapp 8000 Erfahrungspunkte, das sind am Anfang fünf Level, dazu gibts ne Menge Loot und 500 Gold + 4 Lebenselexiere von Inubis. Das ist nicht ganz einfach aber damit hat man einen angenehmen Start.
@@T.K.Wellington1996 oh ja das klingt tatsächlich auch sehr effektiv. Ich glaube aber ein feuerregen ist nicht immer genug für schwere Gegner. Ork Eliten halten ja auch 2 aus. In speedruns sieht man aber, daß der Regen manchmal doppelt oder sogar 3x hitten kann, hat was mit den frames zu tun also sehr random.
Ich habs sonst auch oft ähnlich gemacht. Alternativ kann man auch mit 2x Untote vernichten und paar feuerbällen die gruft hinter dem schwarzen troll clearen. Man kann übrigens Trolle mit einer riesenratte Verwandung totspammen, geht deutlich schneller als mit dem Helden. 😉 also gibt viele Wege 💁♀️
These combat tips against orcs / animals / humans - these are good tips but I wouldn't call them exploits. This is the combat system, You have to learn opponent's moves and how to react to them the best You can. Orcs charge mindlessly, You sidestep and punish that. Humans above 30% fighting skills are much more careful and won't charge, You have to wait for the window when they combo.
What I'm trying to say is - these are great combat tips, I just wouldn't call them exploits because this is how the combat is supposed to work in this game. Exploit would be something like learning 5 points of the skill on 29 to avoid paid more lp per skill point.
Gothic 1/2 could have been a kill app on the first xbox, fable is just a shitty clone in my opinion.
these are more like cheating by abusing bugs. You might as well use the proper cheat codes.
OMG N 12 IS AWESOME AND PRETTY USEFUL. But with my copy of Gothic 2 Night of the Raven there's a BIG problem with dragons. I don't know why (someone tells me about a problem of fps cap) but Dragon's Life is very fast regen and I cannot kill them fastly. Can you explain me how to resolve?
Yea i can tell you. Its become the regen is connected to your framerate. The game is intended to play in 30fps. You can cap the fps with External Tools.
