Coke Studio Pakistan songs are performed live so there's only a single final take. They obviously practice endlessly before to synchronize but the final product is recorded live in a single take. That is important to mention considering the fact that it does all come together so flawlessly in a single take speaks volumes about the professionalism and sheer talent and skill of these musicians and singers. It's unbelievable.
Hey guys, traditionally in coke studio they do two takes, one as a final live rehearsal and then the main final take (other than chaap tilak which was so good in the rehearsal that they didn't bother with the second take), so 5 to 6 takes means that they had to fine-tune the glitches before the final live take, I personally think its because Faris practiced with everyone for the first time that day so it took longer than usual. Karakoram is the band, Talha Anjum (the skinnier rapper) is one half of a duo called Young Stunners and Faris Shafi is also a famous rapper (brother of Meesha Shafi, she has also performed in several coke studio songs but it's his first time). They are all famous in their own genre and fans that follow their work but Coke Studio brings them all to the masses on a larger scale. They don't have to prove anything, but as you heard in the video, they just had to improvise to cater to the general CS audience. Javed is the violinist and he has been with coke studio since the very beginning. Xulfi is the main producer for this season, CS always cycles through different producers every season or two, Rohail Hyatt was the original producer and because CS is his brainchild, he produced at least 8 seasons. BTW the BTS has been a tradition of CS from the very beginning but they were a lot shorter as each episode had 3 to 4 songs, this season each episode is one song and the entire episode focuses on the detailed introduction of the artists and the entire journey.
The guy with the beard, glasses and black p-cap is Zulfiqar J Khan (Xulfi,) the producer of this season of Coke Studio. This song, like ‘Tu Jhoom,’ was written by Adnan Dhool (the lead vocalist of ‘Neray Neray Vas.) This season is, by far, the most diverse and exhilarating one.
Switching between languages is super common if you are fluent in both. It basically becomes its own separate language in your head and comes out without having to think about it. I do that all the time with French and English.
I am not sure about this season, but in the past they would rehearse and do many takes, but the whole point was that the video they put out has to be done in 1 take...it's not edited together with the other portions, instead you get the final 1 take with different angles
My first ever comment here. First thing u both are very humble down to earth ppl and yeah teachers are like that as u mentioned in ur song reaction. So this happen too first time as I woke up 12:30 noon. Just checked my cell saw ur reaction and that was awsome the way u explained the massage of the song. The moment song reaction got finished ur BTS reaction was there. Consecutively two awsome reaction videos thumbs👍 and yeah super song
I had watched and commented on your reaction on the song itself a couple of hours ago when this video dropped and what a pleasure it was. Talha Anjum is based in Karachi, and Faris Shafi is from Lahore. So yeah this is probably their first collab. I am glad you guys enjoyed it all as much as I did. Blessings.
The whole switching between multiple languages is a common phenomena in many countries where people are either bilingual or multilingual. I guess I never realized how strange it must be to non-multilinguals to hear people seamlessly switch between languages. Personally, I speak 4 languages and am constantly switching between at least 2 (sometimes 3) at a time in a single conversation, which is something I've seen in Pakistan also. Also, you pronounced duniya [meaning world] correctly (they really should have spelled it with an "i" because you're supposed to mildly pronounce it in there). "Ye" is pronounced kind of like the Ye in Kanye, and means "this." So..."this world." Also, Karakoram, to my knowledge, isn't really a well known band. They were featured in some songs from Nescafe Basement. The most famous of the 3 musicians would be the skinny rapper (Talha Anjum), who is one half of the duo Young Stunners.
all of them are well known and famous all across Pakistan talha anjum(young stunners) have a huge fanbase but the others are the pros of their field and are praised whenever they release a song or rap.
I really love how you both would usually react on Coke Studio. It was even more great since you started behind the magical moments to get an idea behind the whole magic they are keep producing ♥️
Guys absolutely great reaction... If you guys are interested in rock performance where Xulfi sir playing an electric guitar then you must check out the song name JILAWATAN by the band name CALL... And the other song I would recommend you nescafe basement show which is also produced by Xulfi sir and you can listen karakoram playing one of the best song of all time which was a great hit in it's time LARGER THEN LIFE... I bet you guys really going to enjoy these two songs. I would love to see your reaction on these two songs... God bless ya'll! Peace up. ✌️❤️🙏
Talha Yunus (the first rapper) is part of a duo rapper band called Young Stunners (other guy is named Talha Yunus and he is also v good) and they are Pakistans best rappers without a doubt and they are still v young, si he is the most humble one but the most famous. Faris (otehr rapper) on other hand has become more famous recently (he is brother of Meesha Shaafi who is v famous singer/actor). While Karakoram has got fame on mainstream TV via Nescafe Basement few years back but still growing in fame mostly famous among underground bands.
People in Pakistan usually speak a few language majority can speak Urdu but also speak the local language which can be either Punjabi Sindhi Pashto balochi or Kashmiri except Karachi where majority speak only Urdu English is though in every school and all science subject are thought in English
Zulfi the producer and director of the this season is a great musician and had 2 rock bands 1st was EP and the 2nd was CALL and he himself is a great singer .. he has produced some music for Bollywood movies as well. He is a man on mission to produce some great music 🎶
Back and forth with going from Urdu to English is a habit with us . The British left their influence behind, and so it's become a part of our vacabulary.
Hey guys, Love your reactions. Jodi really adds an extra flavor to your reaction videos... Though I agree with you that Atif Aslam is a great singer but I think I need to team up with Jodi in general. 😇 Team Jodi 💪 Pakistan is a multi-lingual country. It was part of the colonial British and Pakistan switched the official language from English to Urdu in 1973. Dialect, accent, or altogether language changes after 15-25 KM. There is a proverb "Every two miles the water changes, every four miles the speech."
Love the reactions. You asked if these guys are famous or if this is their big break. Karakorum is fairly famous but Talha Anjum has become extremely famous last few years (solo and as a part of the duo Young Stunners). While the mixed language rap by Faaris was great Talha Anjum is known for his unmatched poetic skills. His urdu rap in this song could be published as a work of amazing Urdu poetry. The subtitles don’t do it justice. I get goosebumps everytime I hear it.
This season is just phenomenal and epic. If the same team gets to produce the next season also, they'll really find it very difficult to beat this masterclass season. I'm glad that you're enjoying this season as much as we're doing. And I'm saying this again, you may seriously think about changing the name of your channel, its not "BORING REVIEWS" anymore 😉😄. See you guys real soon in the next one, take care, stay safe, cheers!!!
Love the review. Hopefully you guys see this comment. Every season has a different music producer, this year it’s Zulfiqar “Xulfi”. He also worked on Nescafe basement. My favorite is Rohail Hyatt. He was the producer of most of the early seasons and season 12 & 13. My second best are Ali Hamza and Zohaib kazi for season 11 And even though they are last in the list they are awesome as well, The Band Strings has produced many great songs. So you can say coke studio has had 4 music producers over the year and each with a different styles - Rohail Hyatt - Strings the band. (Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia ) - Ali Hamza and Zohaib Kazi -Zulfiqar “Xulfi” (current music producer) Each has their own unique season. Rohail Hyatt has most of the early seasons of coke studio on his own TH-cam channel. “Rohail Hyatt.” The songs even have English subtitles. Miyan ki Malhaar is a great one! I would recommend Aadam from season 12. It’s my favorite.
Love your reactions. Please react to Pakistan Zindabad by Call The Band featuring all the drummers of Pakistan. That's on another level. You'll see Xulfi performing in it.
No the band Karakoram isn’t well known this is a big break for them. But if you like his scream you should check out their song Bekhudi by Karakoram. The chorus is the scream it’s really good and reminds you of the late Chester B.
Here’s what you need Karakoram: new upcoming Rock band..lead vocalist..Sherry Khatak (the whisperer/screamer) is also part of Coke Studio production team this season Talha Anjum: part of a group called Young Stunner which has two Talhas. Hence the reference in the BTS about “are you missing the other Talha”. I might add they are the biggest rap group at t he moment making their way from underground scene. Faris Shafi: where do I begin..he’s an enigma..most respected rapper..big brother of Pakistani hip hop (Bohemia being the father)..hence the swag…his songs always addresses a social issue The fist bump between Talha and Faris will be remembered by their fans for a long long time Oh yes..Zulfi the producer ..he was part of a rock bank called Entity Paradigm.. Rock band in the early 00s..later went on to produce Nescafe Badement sessions..very respected in the music industry.. check em out (Ps google could’ve told you all this lol)
I am pretty sure that he has played the violin in many of the previous seasons of CS. In fact, he is the only violinist that the camera focuses on, even when there are four violinists in the same song.
@@nidaatifkhan2011 I wish that these background musicians can also have their musical journey shown, in CS. Esp as I’m loving the in depth BTS videos in the current season.
You guys should checkout Zulfi’s band ENTITY PARADIGM or EP’s music. They were epic and trendsetters really. You can find the music on TH-cam. Do check them out.
Wouldn't it be nice if coke studio invite you guys or different reaction channels people's to be a part of any song, where you get to see the process, and when you react to it later we all also get to know about it more

FYI Adnan Dhool is the same guy who sung Neray Neray Vas with Butt Brothers and wrote Tu Jhoom as well.
Wow, you are killing it ❤️
Thanks
Jumping to this straight from your reaction to the song. Again love your reactions.
That’s awesome.
That javed guy is the violinist...hes been doin it for 46 yrs now....
OMG back to back reactions, just love it ❤️🔥 Thank you guys 😊
Thank you for watching them both
I have watched all of your Coke Studio reviews and completely love it 💚
That’s so cool and nice of you. Thanks so much.

The other guy is Talha Anjum not Talha Younus
@@shabeebahmed1972 You are right, that was a pure typo, as Im so used to thinking of these two together...lol!
Hope to see Yunus in CS as well.
You’re right, wish they could also show some of the intermittent cuts and other deeper stuff from the process
Great reaction once again. Really like your analysis.
Thanks.
Lovely reaction 👍. And this song is my favorite

It’s not so much weird for us as we are used to it with learning about Asian media but to do it in rap is incredible and that is new to us.
Correct......
Yes, it has become so natural I don't even realize I'm switching languages back and forth while speaking.
all of them are well known and famous all across Pakistan talha anjum(young stunners) have a huge fanbase but the others are the pros of their field and are praised whenever they release a song or rap.
Basically they do 5 to 7 takes to get all the different camera angles. The song is recorded everytime but the best version is selected to be aired
Behind the scenes...they are having a good time ..lots of fun and most of all respect and love.

Thanks for the suggestion. We will need to make a list of these for when CS season 14 is done.
They are all well known artist established independently or in a band
Switching languages from one to another is common in Pakistan also in many other countries
Javed is a violinist (heading string section) and has been associated with CS since very start.
