Been following Coke Studio for the last 10 years and its been such a journey. Its a shame we have so few music programmes in the UK that genuinely celebrate music and encourage collaboration rather than focus more on entertainment and competiton. Feel we're missing a beat here

My understanding is Xulfi is the mastermind behind a lot of the choosing of talent - I’m not sure who does the actual talent hunting though. Ali Sethi actually chose Shae Gill himself I believe. Also there is a really really old coke studio song by Atif Aslam called Channa which I think you should both check out.
Its Xulfi and his team who are the master minds behind all of this.... and ohh my, have they showed up for CS 14.... absolutely turned CS on its head....
Zulfi (or Xulfi) has a knack for seeking out talent and putting people together. Before CS 14 he was the producer of another music show called Nescafe Basement whose entire purpose is to give a mainstream platform to underground or little known artists in Pakistan. He has been doing this for a while.
hasan raheem is from a region in pakistan called gilgit baltistan- this is up near the karakoram mountains. super beautiful, and the people there have their own beautiful culture and language. he grew up elsewhere i think but speaks his mother tongue.
The singer Hassan Raheem is from Gilgit, a region in Northern Pakistan, where the native language is Shina. Most of the song is in Urdu but he added lines in Shina as a way to pay homage to his own roots which is an amazing thing. Shows that one can embrace modernity and have new music but also incorporate native and folk elements. This season of Coke Studio is a masterpience after masterpiece. Of all the reactionns I have seen on Coke Studio Season 14, you guys have done the best vids on it.. So much thought put on it.
Karakoram has some amazing songs but they’re so criminally underrated! I hope you guys check out Alvida and Bekhudi. Would be awesome to see that reaction.
Most people in Pakistan speak several languages. There are regional language and colonial leftover (ahem) English, Urdu, and many other Regional languages shared by the neighbouring countries.
Gilgit baltistan is in the north of Pakistan, we call it the northern areas, Gilgit is the capital, Shina is the spoken language of that area mostly. Central asian origin, white featured, polite, simple and hospitable people.
Master mind of Coke Studio is Rohail Hayat. Search his interview. First couple of seasons he produced it. You guys should react previous magical journeys. Like Jhum, Sajna das na, Kana Yari etc.

Credit goes to Coca Cola for giving creative freedom & liberty to their main producres. Previously, Rohail Hayat was the producer of the first six seasons. Then "Strings" produced next four seasons. Ali Hamza along with another dude also produced one season. Rohail Hayat came back for another season and then they decided to change the whole format and hired Xukfi to produce season 14. Xulfi was a member of a band "Call" and few other including "EP - Entity Paradigm"... Xulfi has also produced many seasons of Nescafe Basement (you must check it out) and Sherry Khattuck was also part of Nescafe Basement. But if I can recommend the best Xulfi song, it has to be "Jilawatan by Call" from Pepsi Battle of the Bands... please check it out, it's probably the best Rock track you'll ever hear. Also check out "Zindabad" by Call and Drum Circle in which all the major Drum players of Pakistan have participated...!
