I'm about as pumped for this as I was for the Dan Henderson interview. This guy is "the other side of MMA" personified.
His record isn't anything close to pretty, but he has some very valuable wins sprinkled throughout all of those losses.

i am way pumped to hear this one. This is a guy with some MF stories, a guy that beat a bellator champion but lost a buttload of times and comes back for more, and shows some great performances on very short notice. Mad respect

@LytesOutMMAHistory I loved the lions den episodes. Any follow up rd 2s planned? A Tra Telligman might be fun. Don't think I've ever heard any of his stories 🥸

    Good to see Jay Ellis.
I never took a penny from any fighter from my gym or any promoter. I never managed any fighters. I would get phone calls from promoters asking for fighters for their shows. I got paid very little for my fights as well.
Jay trained with me for years but he was never consistent. I also remember that in many occasions he just trained for free at my place. I was not making money with my school or fighting. I was working full time jobs to support myself and honestly others.

Man… we need to pick up
      A sponsor to do that
I would like to do 6 a month, but it is a lot of work.
What helps is my job, it takes me out of the house and allows me to research for 12 - 20 hours a week.

@LytesOutMMAHistory I can only imagine how much research you do. I thought I knew my stuff in mma, being a ufc 1 guy at 9 with my dad watching it on the box he'd rent from viewers choice here in canada.. how things have changed lol
But the history is wayyyy more than I can remember. Kotc days with the ufc and pride is too much let alone everything else. You deserve a sponsor. Every fighter ,promoter etc should want to do the pod because it really is like going back in the history books. So many times you'll research and guys will be like holy shit I forgot all about that. The pod keeps everything on record. It's appreciated!

A lot of work goes into every guest
My job allows me to do 25-30 hours of research with the ocassiojal interruption. That really helps out a lot

@@LytesOutMMAHistory I don't doubt it! It's such a great concept and has been done right. Mma has such unique fans; you got the hardcores and casuals. The hardcores stay but the casuals seem to turnover ever 6 or 7 years. The podcasts you've made will stand the test of time. That's what makes it so great and different from other mma pods. Keep on keeping on man! Looking forward to Monday!!
