Mr Clark was one of my Dad's fishing buddies. In the 60s When Mr Clark played the Southern Maryland Circuit, He would always fish out of Benedict Md with my Dad and friends. They would rent a little john boat with a little outboard and have blast catching Blue. When I was little I woke up at 5 am because they were all laughing, telling jokes while stringing up the rods. I had no idea who he was till I saw him again years later on the TV show He-Haw. Then my Dad, also named Roy told me the story. RIP Dad. And Roy Clark.
He was totally amazing it's almost hard to understand how someone could be as good as he is he could play any stringed instruments and he was the best PERIOD!
I grew up watching him on his comedy show & the Grand Ole Opera. My fam are Cajun & from Louisiana & south TX & its huge, hundreds. Many generations of musicians. I spent w/my brothers & cousins, Aunts & Uncles growing up in honky tonks where if they weren't the band, they were cutting a rug!! Back when it was legal. Early 60"s thru 70's for me. My Mom played fiddle, steel guitar, 6 string, & accordion!! All my immediate fam played instruments & sang. One brother toured alot & opened for many A-list musicans. We loved your cousin. He was a master guitarist, so funny & seemed like a really great guy!!! Thanks for sharing!! Watching from Alaska!!
Roy Clark was a great entertainer, humble man & super talented. He was both a singer & musician. His guitar & banjo playing are legendary. A lot of musicians & artists today could learn a lot from his style & technique. Glen Campbell was also an underrated guitarist. But these men paved the way for a lot of musicians today.
I always wrote him off from hee haw. But if he can play malaguena like this! Wow. If you’re ever around El mariachi and they ask for a request always shout malaguena. They all know it and aren’t used to playing it expecting tourists just say something like play something from the top 10 radio
i'm an old, crusty, retired electrician. i probably have more years pulling wire than Da Real Adogg has breathing. but i have noticed a lot of "first time hearing..." videos lately of Roy Clark, Glen Campbell and even one of Queen. And it's nice to know that talent, no matter how old the performers are, is still appreciated.
Supposedly Jimi said that about Phil Keaggy (Glass Harp band and a Christian artist for over 40 years) on a late night talk show. Jimi died a few years before Phil became known nationally.
Maleguena is typically played on an acoustic guitar and very few American musicians have even attempted to play it. Rot Clark is the only artist I've ever seen play it on an electric guitar. He was simply amazing with anything with strings and had a comedic side that was absolutely charming.
Roy Clark has a "Ghost Riders in the Sky" video that he absolutely shreds on a 12 string. There are also clips of him and Glen Campbell playing duets. One more suggestion would be Roy and his cousin, Buck Trent playing "Dueling Banjos". And yes, Roy is just as good on banjo as he is on guitar. He could also play fiddle and most other stringed instruments.
I saw Roy Clark on the Tonight Show as a kid. He shredded Ghost Riders in the Sky. When he was done, he sat next to Johnny Carson. Johnny said ‘I don’t know how many people in the audience noticed this. You broke a string half way through, didn’t you?’ Roy held up his guitar and a broken string flapped in the breeze. Nobody could tell. I wish I could find that video again...
Mr. Adogg, as a kid of the 70's, from Oklahoma, who grew up watching Hee Haw every Saturday night, I wanted to tell you I thoroughly enjoyed watching you enjoy Roy Clark. Watch any of his Hee Haw videos, not only was he an incredible musician, but also a big clown. Thanks for posting
I'm thrilled you found Roy Clark. The style he's playing in is called "Flamincan Guitar." He's playing with a single pick, what the original Spanish artists used multiple finger picks to accomplish.
My grandfather and Roy were friends before my grandfather passed. They belonged to the same Masonic Lodge in Oklahoma for years. I had the privilege as a kid to sit with him and my grandfather at many of the social gatherings put on for families of the lodge members. You would never have known, even then, that he was a celebrity. He was just a regular Joe to everyone else there. So humble and kind. And of course a very, very talented man.
Roy Clark played on Hee-Haw for decades! He played on several shows. My arm gets tired watching him! I listened to him since I was like seven years old.
Roy Clark is a fabulous artist! This was purely guitar, but he has a wonderful voice. (OK, "had"...he passed several years ago.) Listen to him doing "Yesterday When I Was Young" and "Thank God and Greyhound". He was one of the stars (along with Buck Owens) of Hee Haw. (My cousin was in his band during that time.)
I thought hee haw was just a joke show until someone online was pointing out that roy clarke, glen campbell were one in ten million players. shocking good ...roy owned and flew several different types of aircraft as well
Roy Clark does the same song on an acoustic and it's fantastic. Acoustic guitar's don't forgive mistakes and he plays it perfectly. Watch him do it on an episode of The Odd Couple. Wow! Also, Charo plays this song pretty good too on her acoustic.
Absolutely! Roy, in that episode, made that acoustic guitar ring like a bell and sing with a joy that was wondrous to watch. You can see the exact moment when Jack Klugman and Tony Randall go from their characters to stunned and respectful along with the studio audience. When Tony flops back, that's a genuine reaction to the performance....plus his expression too.
It fills my heart with happiness that you young people are discovering and now featuring the likes of Roy Clark. At the height of his success, he was invited onto a show called The Odd Couple which at the time was one of the top rated TV shows in the country. He was also a featured guitarist and invited to play at Carnegie Hall. It is true that Roy along with Glenn Campbell were really guitarist. They also looked up to a gentleman by the name of Chet Atkins. You want to have some fun one night you may or may not have already done so if you want to hear a voice that'll blow your mind listen to Jay and the Americans "Car Mia" or "This Magic Moment". Thanks for sharing
Roy Clark was one of the greatest guitar, banjo, fiddle players of all time! If it had strings he could play it. Plus a beautiful voice listen to him sing Yesterday! Sadly he passed away in 2018 at age 85 he is now in the big mans band with Glen and so many other greats who preceded him. Rest in peace Roy you left us with so many awesome memories.
Roy Clark was a virtuoso on any stringed instrument, guitar, banjo, violin, you name it. He was a good singer, and most of his most impressive work was when he was goofing around, making fun of himself with goofy faces! There's a whole rabbit hole of his work you need to check out, especially if you watch his duets with other banjo players!
Thank you, so incredibly much, for allowing an old man to experience your first time hearing and seeing Roy Clark play, sir. It was a joy to have that experience. I grew up with Mr. Clark playing in the house, as my father was a guitarist, who idolized this man's talent. I hope you find many amazing performers and performances to enjoy as you did this one.
First off, kudos to you for looking past current music to that of the past; there is so much ‘gold’ out there from the past. This was back in the day when you didn’t have autotune or ways to correct timing etc., you either triumphed or fell on your face especially in a live performance. Roy Clark was looked upon as a guitar virtuoso; there are many performances where he was clowning around but the guitar work was both serious and stunning. Again, thanks for having an open mind a giving respect when it’s truly due…
The fact that he’s using a pick is what makes this so incredible for me. Most guitarists use finger techniques and an acoustic guitar. To accomplish this on an electric and with a pick was miraculous!
He could play any stringed instrument and was the master of all of them. Country, blues, rock. He did it all. And was very humble about it and was a genuinely nice person.
Roy Clark was one of the best guitar, banjo - whatever instrument players in his and anyone else’s day! Played with Glen Campbell often who also was a master. Someone picked a great artist for you. Watched it all with you Adogg, thanks!
You should see Roy Clark play this on an acoustic guitar!!! He may that guitar "sing" doing stuff with his right hand (like muting certain strings but not other strings, doing the percussion) at the same time his right hand was a blur!
Thank you! I have been playing guitar for over 30 years, and of course I’ve heard of Roy and remember him on Hee Haw. However, I never in my wildest dreams knew the man could play the guitar like THAT! Brought me to tears! Just goes to show, you learn something new everyday!
I can play anything with strings... Roy seems like the reason strings were invented. The man was a musician in the truest sense. He was a master on his instrument, he was respectful to all work, he was happy doing it and made people happy when he did. My uncle, before he was killed in Vietnam was just making a big name in Tennessee, he played with and was friendly with the Hee Haw cast, lots of the Grand Ole Opry regulars, Roy, String Bean, Jerry Reed, there was close to 3000 people at his funeral. My father and grandfather were also pickers, loved and respected Roy very much.
To my discredit, I never knew about Roy Clark until around the time he died (had never been a country fan). I came to find out that the guy is a frigging legend, who could melt anything with strings. And he gave so many musicians a start. He was a gentleman and had no equal as a musician. Similar to Glen Campbell (another legend), who I also didn't know a lot about until more recently. The rocker Alice Cooper in an interview a few years ago said Campbell (who was a friend of his) was one of the Top 5 guitar players in the world. Both these men were way ahead of their time, on a 6 string or 12 string. Now I've watched a number of both their performances. I sit there with my mouth open, speechless, wondering how they are doing it.
When he was starting out he was known as "Lightening Fingers" for his hand speed on the guitar. His duet with Glen Campbell on Ghost Riders in the Sky is a masterclass on how to play the guitar at the highest level.
Other hand: Not to be negative; Amphetamines and other affects may be in the mix. Just saying. I was alive and kicking then. Would have seen him live on Lawrence Welk. (Cause TV was all live back then) Good projections! ( Postings) Keep being Strong and Positive.
My mom and aunt both loved Roy and had several albums featuring him as well as watching him on "Hee-Haw". His guitar work is often overlooked by his banjo playing (which he seems to be slightly more renowned for. In the 90's I met him at a guitar store and seemed to be the only person who recognized him so I got a few minutes to chat with the master. He gave me some advice and tips to improve my own playing. I was dumbfounded.
Mr. Clark once said that he could not play every instrument and be good at it, just any instrument with strings on it! I believed him!! RIP One of the best to ever do it!!!
Hey Adogg, so glad to see you covering Roy Clark ,he was a master musician with almost any instrument. Thanks again, it's refreshing to see this talented man get some play time ! ❤
I remember watching Hee Haw as a kid with my parents on Saturday nights at 6:00 p.m. every week for the musical guest and comedy skits. When Roy Clark would play any instrument in the setting with everyone around him you could see the crowd around him react is suprise and amazement of his string instrument abilities.
Hello Mate, Roy Clark, was a Maestro on Guitar, Violin, Banjo & Mandolin ,and other string instruments, I'm very happy you love him like us who have known his work for over 60 plus years, Its good that young people get to hear these wonderful country artist of yesteryear thank you TH-cam for keeping them alive so every one can enjoy, Regards & Best Wishes Trevor.W.Bacelli. Biloela Qld Australia
I really appreciated watching your reaction! Roy was a very skilled musician and amazing guitar payer. Thank you for being so open and frank with your reactions!
Lawrence Welk Show, Hee Haw Followed by the Wonderful World of Disney ! We had sunday diner at my grandparents every week. That was the Sunday night line up, typically one or more of us three kids would carried out to the car, already asleep. Good times and great childhood memories. Thanks for the HeeHaw reminder
Roy Clark was the first artist I ever saw 'Live' in concert. He had a special guuest with him: Suzi Quatro, who was equally Brilliant - but i'll never forget the first time (from a short distance away in 1981 at Roy's Travelling Music Show) i saw him play and i mean really 'play' that guitar ... Wow! Great reaction Da Real Adogg, THANK YOU.😀♥
Roy was a master like this on: the guitar, Banjo, fiddle, 12-string, harmonica, vocals and pretty much anything else he put his mind to. Most underrated MUSICIAN of all time in my opinion
Roy Clark passed away in 2018 at the age of 85. One of the best. Check out "12th Street Rag" and "Ghost Riders In the Sky". He also played fiddle and banjo.
And fiddle and anything with strings...and seems I saw him play harmonica once long ago. His family had a band and he'd grab each instrument and mess with it until he figured it out...no formal lessons
If anyone has a recording of Jimi Hendryx doing the same songs in the same style AND TECHNIQUE Roy did, on the same kind of instrument Roy had..,I'll buy that recording, 20 dimes on the dollar!
Roy Clark was an amazing musician. This was one of us his signature songs, that he did several times. He had several great songs, I'd suggest: 12th Street Rag Duelin' Banjos Under the Double Eagle Folsom Prison Blues (duet with Johnny Cash) For singing: Yesterday When I was Young Thank God and Greyhound Probably his two biggest hits. Finally I'd like to second the suggestion that you check out Glen Campbell's guitar skills. His version of the "William Tell Overture" is amazing. He played it on both an acoustic and a 12 string electric, either is mind blowing.
The ability too remember and hit every note by heart especially this song takes a skill few will ever obtain. He was a master guitar player. Besides that he always carried a sense of humor that made everyone laugh. He was a Godly man as well. When you truly love your work and enjoy the benefits it brings you will have a very blessed life. Thanks for sharing brother. I haven’t seen him in over 40 years. This really brings back good memories!
I’ve had the honor of meeting Roy on several occasions at his golf tournament in Oklahoma. The song is pronounce Mal-uh-gwania. It’s usually played by marching bands. I was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Marching band and we played it. It’s a lot of fun and loud!
Marching bands may play it... but it is actually usually played on a classical guitar. You have the pronunciation in correct... as it is the name of a Spanish dance that is similar to a fandango. Ma-la-gena is closer. Roy Clark does a fantastic job with a flat pick and an electric guitar! Absolutely amazing! My favorite rendition of the song is by Charo. it's a masterclass in technique combined with passion.
Malagueña was written by the Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona: it was written for piano and although Roy Clark was a truly great guitarist the best versions of this tune are done by pianists.
Roy Clark- Won his 1st state championship a t 14 playing the banjo and never looked back. Had a near crippling shyness but overcame that through his God given musical talent.
@@angelatucker674 there's no relation. Roy & Chet were my Dad's favorite entertainers, respectively. Both were excellent guitarists. Chet was his #1 picker. Watch Chet's "Mr Guitar".
Roy Clark was a "guitar wizard" he could play multiple instruments banjo, fiddle, electric guitar he was just madly gifted. This piece was written by the Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona. It is a folk song from eastern Venezuela according to google. I enjoy listening to those beautiful Latin notes...makes me want to dance the fandango. Hayy Hayyy 👠🙋♀️👏🔥🎸🎶💞🎸
Great reaction :) Just for your personal entertainment, watch him play this version when he was a guest on the old Odd Couple sitcom, it was amazing because he used a straight acoustic guitar, you will love it too :)
Check out BringBackMyYesterday with Roy playing Ghost Riders In The Sky. He played for years in Branson, Missouri. He played a wide range of stringed instruments, equally well, was a comedian as well as singer. He did it all leaving you speechless. Enjoy the memories.
I am really glad I happened across your channel. I remember seeing Roy Clark on Hee Haw when I was a kid. I remember hearing his name over and over but just thought he was the guy with the big smile on Hee Haw. I never knew he could play like that. Wow!
Roy, along with BUCK OWENS, hosted HEE HAW for a couple decades. Known as a great guitar/banjo/mandolin player, he complemented Buck's lyrical writing, and entertaining well.
Some of the most versatile musicians in the world are country musicians and Roy was one of the most amazing. There is a video of Roy doing this song on an old TV show, "The Odd Couple" using an acoustic guitar. It is even more amazing. I would also like to put in a vote to check out his version of 12th Street Rag. Another amazing musician I'd like to recommend is Gatemouth Brown. One of my favorite performances of his is the funky "Okie Dokie Stomp" from the "Lighting In A Bottle" concert. Is it country, blues, jazz? IMO it's all that and more.
I worked with "Roy" for 2 years and he loved the story above because he knew how it REALLY happened as he was told by "Eric Clapton" himself. This quote came from the 1969-1973 timeframe. Eric was asked by an interviewer, "what does it feel like to be the greatest guitar player in the world"? Eric responded, "I wouldn't know, you need to ask "Billy Gibbons" (guitarist for ZZ Top) because he is the best guitar player I have ever met! Billy was just starting up the R&R ladder at that time but was well-known for his fantastic guitar work even before he was famous. This "quote" has been applied many times to various artists over the decades with much validity. My answer would be, who is the best guitarist in the world? Hands down, FRANK ZAPPA.
Everybody always classifies great guitar players into their own specific genres but if you were just going to make a list of greatest guitar players. I think Roy Clark would have to be in the conversation
It’s been said that someone asked Jimmy Hendrix what it was like to be the best guitar player and he said I don’t know ask Roy Clark. The man could play anything with strings. This is flamenco style guitar that is popular in Spain. Best way I know how to tell you to say the title of the song is molly•grain•ya
Some music pumps you up.... this song locked you up, you quit moving, you were hypnotized at times, that says something about both the artist and the listener. Ty
Yes there's him playing the same song that was played live on the odd couple TV show ,on acoustic guitar sitting on a stool you should see that 1 Also please check out Chet Atkins
Not only was he a master of guitar, he played many other instruments. Humble, and kind. And this piece of music itself seems to written for Roy to come along and play it. It's a beautiful piece in itself, that if you can put his skill aside, and catch the piece itself, it can almost make you weep; a very emotional one. Thanks! Love your reaction ♥️
Two of my favourite Roy Clark songs are diametric opposites - "Yesterday When I Was Young" is a beautiful, sad song and "Thank God and Greyhound" is funny as hell. If you've never heard these, give them a listen. I'm not sure if there were/are videos of them. Thanks for playing this - Roy Clark was such an exemplary musician. When rock stars like Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen both wished they could be as good as him - what more needs be said?
I’m not a country music fan at all, but Roy Clark was the bomb. Plus he is doing all this super incredible playing with a clean tone. Can’t fake it with Roy.
Mr Clark was one of my Dad's fishing buddies. In the 60s When Mr Clark played the Southern Maryland Circuit, He would always fish out of Benedict Md with my Dad and friends. Roy was my cousin. He played his entire life. Great entertainer and humble southern gentleman.
He was totally amazing it's almost hard to understand how someone could be as good as he is he could play any stringed instruments and he was the best PERIOD!
He was the only reason I ever watched Hee Haw! Well, that and the girls of course! Cheers!
@@johnny_fatz it was hilarious at times Roy Clark was always a funny guy and let me tell you what nobody is more talented on guitar than he was.
I grew up watching him on his comedy show & the Grand Ole Opera.

John Denver too!!!
And yet you problee won't find Roy Clark, Glen Campbell or Jim Stafford on a list of greatest guitarists.
I'm right there with you! One of my favs was Patsy Cline, and it goes w/out saying how talented Mr Clark was!!
Great music is timeless!!
Both Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen were asked what's it like to be the greatest guitar player. Both gave the same answer..."Go ask Roy Clark".
Not true. They said the same thing Jimi allegedly said about Johnny Winter. At least with Jiminot sure about Van Halen.
I heard that a few times, this fool Michael Hesler is a complete joke of a man
Supposedly Jimi said that about Phil Keaggy (Glass Harp band and a Christian artist for over 40 years) on a late night talk show. Jimi died a few years before Phil became known nationally.
And Eddie Van Halen made reference to Steve Lukather as being the best guitar player in the world.
Eddy was trying to get lessons from Roy going through a friend. Don't know if he ever did it.
Maleguena is typically played on an acoustic guitar and very few American musicians have even attempted to play it. Rot Clark is the only artist I've ever seen play it on an electric guitar. He was simply amazing with anything with strings and had a comedic side that was absolutely charming.
Look up Chet Atkins Maleguena. He did it on electric in 1963. Roy took it to the next level for sure.

He's one of the best fiddle players I've ever heard as well.
As somebody commented on another video, give Roy Clark a board with 4-12 strings tacked to it, and he’d make music with it.
I was going to suggest the video of Ghost Riders as well and here is the link.

Rick - Yes. Roy and Glen ??? Beyond words.
Intuitive Artistry and Creative Focus.
Nothing is impossible.
Ever.
Knowing is Creating.
Other hand:
Not to be negative;
Amphetamines and other affects may be in the mix.
Just saying.
I was alive and kicking then.
Would have seen him live on Lawrence Welk. (Cause TV was all live back then)
Good projections! ( Postings)
Keep being Strong and Positive.
Yes, I thumbs up my own reply....
LOL
My mom and aunt both loved Roy and had several albums featuring him as well as watching him on "Hee-Haw". His guitar work is often overlooked by his banjo playing (which he seems to be slightly more renowned for.
In the 90's I met him at a guitar store and seemed to be the only person who recognized him so I got a few minutes to chat with the master. He gave me some advice and tips to improve my own playing.
I was dumbfounded.
There’s all the other Jedi, and then there’s Yoda
There’s all the other great guitar players, and then there’s Roy Clark
Amen
Also played banjo, fiddle, and sang. "Yesterday When I Was Young" made the charts.
Roy Clark was an incredible guitar player. He needs more recognition. So underrated. Thank you for highlighting the incomparable Roy Clark.
That is him and a guitar. No effects pedals. That is raw talent.
Not only was Roy Clark one of the best guitarists ever, he was also one of the kindest. Roy Clark is a legend, I grew up watching him on TV.
Love the way you reacted, dude. It's great to see someone enjoy another person's talents.
As a grizzled old-timer, I am glad that the younger generation now has a chance to appreciate the immense talent of the great Roy Clark.
One of Roy Clark’s more serious songs. The man was simply amazing.

The Legend, that was Roy Clark, never has been, never will be anyone better! RIP Mr. Clark!!
I really appreciated watching your reaction! Roy was a very skilled musician and amazing guitar payer. Thank you for being so open and frank with your reactions!
Roy was a regular on HeeHaw, a couny/bluegrass variety show. He came Accross sometimes as a bumpkin, but you've just seen a taste
You know your getting older when you can remember HeeHaw my parents watched all the time that’s how I know about it, l liked it.🙋🏻♀️
He was also Cousin Roy on the Beverly Hillbillies. 🤠
Uh he he he haw haw!
Wow! Great reaction Da Real Adogg, THANK YOU.😀♥
Roy Clark was an incredible guitar player. He did this tune with an acoustic guitar on an episode of The Odd Couple. It was unreal. No editing.
He could play anything with strings that well.
He was in an episode of an old t.v show called the Odd Couple, he played the absolute hell out of an acoustic guitar..check it out
.
Sam song...minor variations
He plays violin/fiddle and guitar on that show as Wild Billy Boggs, before a live studio audience!
Roy Clark could’ve played your tennis shoes if the laces were tight
Roy Clark - the GOAT!
I've never been a fan of country music or musicians, but, Roy Clark was one incredible talent.
Roy is an phnominal string instrument musician! Banjo, mandolin , guitar one of the best erver!
You're gonna love exploring his music....also check out Jerry Reed, Glenn Campbell, and Junior Brown if you're a guitar lover.
If anyone has a recording of Jimi Hendryx doing the same songs in the same style AND TECHNIQUE Roy did, on the same kind of instrument Roy had..,I'll buy that recording, 20 dimes on the dollar!
Roy Clark is a true master of his craft. Check out Roy Clark on the "Odd Couple" video.
Many people only think of rock guitarist. Roy Clark was one of the best.
Roy Clark was an amazing musician. This was one of us his signature songs, that he did several times. He had several great songs, I'd suggest:
12th Street Rag
Duelin' Banjos
Under the Double Eagle
Folsom Prison Blues (duet with Johnny Cash)
For singing:
Yesterday When I was Young
Thank God and Greyhound
Probably his two biggest hits.
I'm 73 grad 1969. Roy Clark is Hall of Fame Loved Musician. From 50s thru 70s. Fast! World wide Fame.
The man was Amazing! He could play the Banjo and fiddle as well! And he had a great voice!
It is very cool that the music played by Roy Clark is still respected by so many people.
This song is synonymous with Spain. It has been played by every great guitarist
Malagueña was written by the Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona: it was written for piano and although Roy Clark was a truly great guitarist the best versions of this tune are done by pianists.
Roy Clarke is the all time greatest guitar player.
Roy Clark actually stated!
Glen Campbell is even better.
I don't know, both were grate!
Listen to Glen play the William TELL😊 overture!
One thing I like about you is that you recognize pure talent no matter what genre it is. Roy Clark is one of the GOATS for sure.
Roy Clark- Won his 1st state championship a t 14 playing the banjo and never looked back. Had a near crippling shyness but overcame that through his God given musical talent.
He was one of my Daddy's favorite entertainers after the great Chet Atkins.
I was hoping to see relations to Chet..I haven't so far
There is a video of Roy Clark on the sit com The Odd Couple and he plays acoustic. It's amazing!!
It’s one of my favorite videos, ❤love Roy Clark ,
Check out BringBackMyYesterday with Roy playing Ghost Riders In The Sky. He played for years in Branson, Missouri. He played a wide range of stringed instruments, equally well, was a comedian as well as singer. He did it all leaving you speechless. Enjoy the memories.
Many people didn’t know how good, he really was.
"Yesterday when I was young" showcases his beautiful voice.
I actually never knew him as a musician either. This was purely amazing for sure
Thank you! Roy was awesome.. very humble, and could play so many instruments...
Everybody always classifies great guitar players into their own specific genres but if you were just going to make a list of greatest guitar players. I think Roy Clark would have to be in the conversation
As a kid, our family watched HeeHaw every week and Roy Clark shredded every instrument he played. Look up old episodes of HeeHaw.
I just said that Clark was a wonderful human being too
@@davidhyde9474 he really was! Just an ole country boy with a lot of talent ❤️
Some music pumps you up.... this song locked you up, you quit moving, you were hypnotized at times, that says something about both the artist and the listener. Ty
He was at the same level on the violin and banjo
Yes there's him playing the same song that was played live on the odd couple TV show ,on acoustic guitar sitting on a stool you should see that 1
Also please check out Chet Atkins
His version of Bury Me Beneath the Willow Tree with Bobby Thompson from Hee Haw is awesome! Great Banjo playing
RIP Roy. You were truly one of the greatest.
Fantastic reaction to a master of stringed instruments. Please try him and Buck Trent dueling banjos, and Roy Clark alone doing the 12th Street Rag.
