Stampin' Up! video tutorial by Patty Bennett.
Patty - I just love the way you used the various colors.. THANK YOU for taking the time to make this video - very helpful❣️ 👍
thank you so much for your kind comment! so glad you enjoyed it!!
Patty, such a beautiful card! Great tutorial also!!
Super cute card. I bet this would be nice with Lovely as a 🌲 stamp set.
Yes, that's what I mentioned in the video but I need to order it in clear mount since mine is wood mount. I also want to try it with fall colors :)
Stunning cards. Thank you for sharing.
so kind of you, thank you!
Hi Patty, Thanks for sharing this great technique. I love your cards !!!
glad you enjoyed it!! I thought I saw a comment from you about how to do the ground.. I just used the ground stamp in the set and stamped over and over. :)
Thank you for this awesome card. What a great video, filled with tips and you've answered so many of my questions. I do wonder though: can I use stampin' blends pens that are new...or do you only use markers?
Thanks, Janice.. so glad you enjoyed it! No, do not use your Stampin' Blends on your rubber stamps. They are permanent markers. Only use the Stampin' Write (or other water based) markers on your stamps.
Thank you, thank you...I had no idea about this! :-) I'm all set now...thanks a million.
Love the card, will have to try it.
thank you! have fun.. let me know which set you try out!
Have you tried it with fall colors yet? Absolutely gorgeous
that's a spectacular idea!! I actually did this a couple months ago, and just never shared it.. so i was thinking more summer.. but yes, fall would be amazing!
Very, very beautiful. I've taken a few of my stamps off the wood blocks and they work great.
thanks! but then can you put them back on? I prefer wood mount stamps.
Questionably, but would be a pain. I heat them up and take them off the block and separate the foam backing as well. Then I purchase this foam backing that has adhesive on one side and the slick surface that sticks to acrylic blocks on the other. I'm into saving the space that the wood takes up.
Beautiful Winter Woods & Cards, Really Enjoyed The Use Of The New Buffalo Check Background Stamp (Love It).
thank you!
Patty, you can remove the stamps from the wood by heating them in the microwave, or with the heat tool....
but I love wood mount stamps... I prefer them, so I buy them that way.. I don't want to permanently remove them. guess I have to buy both :)
Thanks for always teaching us new techniques.
I really enjoyed this one.. so glad you enjoyed it too!
Thank you for showing this technique. I'm going to try this soon.
Have fun!! let me know which stamp set you try!!
Great job
thank you!
Awesome technique video. Thank you so much. FYI, I have had really good look temporarily dis-mounting wood mount stamps by putting them in a microwave for 8 -10 seconds. The newer the stamp, the less time needed.
You can carefully remove the red rubber stamps from the wood mounts in order to use them in the stamparatus. I need to order the stamparatus. Georgia Gunn
thanks, yes, I suppose i could but my preference is to use wood stamps, so that's why I order most of them in wood :)
I used to. I have 3 x as many wood mount as I do clear mount or photo polymer. The older SU ones where the clear cases were almost always different sizes; so I have been seriously thinking about ordering the newer clear mount cases and taking them off the wood blocks so I can use with the stamparatus. I am not a demonstrator so I keep all my old stamps to use and that way they would all be uniform. I understand why you don't though.
Lovely cards! Where do you get the shimmer paint and what did you use for the grass under the trees? Thank you
You can order the shimmer paint in my online store from the Holiday catalog. The grass was stamped with the grass stamp in the same set, just stamped over and over with the same marker colors as the trees. All supplies are linked at the bottom of this blog post: www.pattystamps.com/pattys_stamping_spot/2018/09/winter-woods-layered-ink-technique-video-tutorial.html
Thank you
I thought I saw a question from you about the leaf trinkets but I can't find it now.. they are called Leaf Trinkets and all the info is in this corresponding blog post linked above www.pattystamps.com/pattys_stamping_spot/2018/09/winter-woods-layered-ink-technique-video-tutorial.html
Yes, I posted and deleted as then I figured it out where to get them. Thank you, you are quick!
ok thanks.. i got your comment in my email inbox.. then came here and couldn't find it :)
Hi Patty! I really love this technique. I was wondering what stamp you used for the grass/ground under the tress? TFS!!
I used the stamp that came in the set, it's about 1" long so I stamped it over and over in the same colors as the trees :)
Oh my goodness! I didn't even notice that stamp in the set! LOL . Thanks so much for your reply. Have a great day! Hugs!
i have had over a dozen people ask..I should have included it in the video.. sorry! :)
Patty, is this tutorial available in text anywhere? I am one of those old dogs whose habits are hard to break and I find videos very difficult because I prefer to print out tutorials and keep them in a binder. I am sure my age has something to do with that preference. Regardless, this is a lovely tutorial and I thank you for sharing it. I will soon be attempting to unmount my wood backed stamps, just out of a sheer need for more room.
No not step by step. You can reference some details in my blog post though. www.pattystamps.com/pattys_stamping_spot/2018/09/winter-woods-layered-ink-technique-video-tutorial.html
Hi, I cannot find this set in the online store? I see it on the USA site but not the Canadian site?
All of the Holiday catalog supplies are available starting today!! You should be able to order everything now www.mystamporder.com in the US.
Hi Patty, I am just curious as to why you order some of your stamp sets in wood mount. I have totally gotten away from wood mount
so wondering if there is a specific reason or just because you like them.
thanks for asking.. I get asked a lot.. basically when I started stamping 35+ years ago, all we had were wood mount stamps.. so I am just used to them and love using them... I still order a ton of my stamps in wood.. I guess because old habits die hard and I love them. But now with the Stamparatus and all the things we can do with it, I feel like I need to convert over to clear mount... (hard to teach an old dog new tricks) :)
I find the rubber stamps are clearer & provide such fine details that I too purchase them.
