Young lady. I came home after a crappy day. Sat on my couch and turned on my TH-cam. I saw your reaction to Bob and his experience of being young in this wonderful song. Your reaction made me laugh as I enjoyed your smile, your head bopping, your feel for the soul of the track. You seem like a very genuine gentle soul who loves music and what songs mean. You put that smile back on my face today. You took all that crappy stuff I had happen and helped me throw it away. I say thank-you. For just being you.

That's right. The song talks about the summertime. Sweet summertime. A person's late teens through their mid 30's. Then it's funny how the night moves. with autumn closing in. The beginning of the onset of 40 through 60. So much older.

That's because when we're younger, we're all care-free and enjoying youth while at the same time taking for granted how short of a time we have for that. It's when we're older and we become that person longing for the innocense and vitality of youth that we understand the words more.

I always get a kick out of you kids discovering the truly great ones. I bought this house from the week it came out when I was in high school. Unfortunately you missed the most important verse in the song because you paused the video to make a comment. The verse is this; we weren't in love oh no far from it, we weren't searching for some pie in the sky Summit, we were just young and restless and bored, living by the sword. Go back and listen to the song and its entirety without pausing there it changes the entire meaning. You have been introduced to one of the greatest artists in history. Very underrated as far as the mainstream. He is a rock and roll HOF. But to me there are very very few that can come close to Bob Seger. Def one of my top 3 of all time. I'd suggest you check out a lot of his songs mentioned by others. I'd say some, but they've already done that.

The past is like another country. They do things differently there. She did a good job of showing how a different generation looks at 1962.

Now you need to do Night Moves. You are adorable and love watching you turn onto music from the 70s. They were awesome. Music was the best.

From Songfacts: This song is about a young couple losing their
virginity in the back seat of a Chevy. Seger says the song is
autobiographical, but he took some liberties, as their tryst was after
high school. The girl he was with had a boyfriend away in the military,
and when he came back, she married him, breaking Seger's heart. Seger
says the song represents the freedom and possibility of the high school
    years.
The phrase "night moves" has a
number of meanings, which made it an intriguing song title. It could
mean "putting the moves on" a girl in the back seat of a car, but Seger
says it also relates to the impromptu parties he and has buddies threw
in the fields of Ann Arbor, Michigan, where they would turn on the
headlights and dance their "night moves." They called these gatherings
    "grassers."
Seger was inspired by the movie American Graffiti,
which was released in 1973 but set in 1962. He said, "I came out of the
theater thinking, Hey, I've a story to tell too. Nobody has ever told
about how it was to grow up in my neck of the woods."

India, I just discovered your channel today and my daughter and I have been watching it all night. These songs are so meaningful to be as well. This will be the first comment of many. Bob Seger is amazing. You were so funny calling Bob nasty. I would like to suggest "Come To Pappa" and "Fire Down Below". Love your reactions.

This was one of the first songs I ever heard by Seger and I loved it, but I was really too young to understand what the song was about. I played the 45 all the time! I'm kind of surprised my mom let me listen to it. I guess she never paid attention to the lyrics. lol

@India Reacts I absolutely loved your reaction to Bob Seger, I grew up listening to him, and alot of other 70's and 80's dude's, he is a michigan legend! And yeah he definitely knew how to work in the dirty lyrics way before it was cool, but he had a tasteful and smooth way of doing it. He had a way of capturing the way life was. Another favorite of mine of his is "Who needs tomorrow" which is another great hit. I am definitely subbing to you girly, you are awesome!

This song is a master class in the mixing and balancing of all the elements. The interplay between the organ and the piano is so slick, and balanced so perfectly as to blend in as one aspect of the whole.

Loved the reaction! Great to see youngsters listening to MUSIC! Try Famous Final Scene, a very underrated melody which is passed over quite a bit, also Rosalie which is a tongue in cheek tune about a woman who was the music director at the local radio station (CKLW) who helped launch many careers back in the day Bob's being one of them.
