"..tonight I'm going to party like it's (1)999" Prince .......Congrats on 999 very informative reviews, and thank you for posting and sharing them with the world. Here is to 999 MORE!
Congratulations on your coming 1000 reviews! Love anCnoc 24 & 18. Bought them and put away several years ago when they were so much lower in price than other bottles in the age/quality of presentation range. Opened a 24 to celebrate my 60th birthday last month. Cheers
Congratulations Ralfy! I remember your first review and I enjoyed it then. I still enjoy your reviews today. Thanks for sharing and helping me along my whisky journey. You’re a treasure. The ancnoc 24 was a bottle I shared upon my daughter’s college graduation, great malt!
Spot on, Ralfy! anCnoc is a great distillery and was a big impression on my whisky journey 10 years ago when I had my first bottle of the 12yr old. An absolute gem back then. Congratulations on 999! You keep making 'em, we'll keep watching 'em! Cheers!!
Came for the Whisky review. Got a lesson on human evolution of olfactory sensors. Ralfy in a nutshell. Always transcending the whisky review. Congratulations on a long and successful journey
999 pure gold Ralfy!!!! Congratulations! Thank you for your knowledge I'm looking forward to 1000, an absolutely huge milestone. Love AnCnoc 18 had the opportunity to try 24 It's delicious! Prices did go up but you still can get for $200 if you see one get one.
Thank you so much Ralfy for your content, frankness, and depth that you delve into whisky. Love listening to you and what you bring to us, especially staying true to just wanting a good dram from distillers.
To Mitchell mobilizing millennial malt musings and meditations, merci. Thanks for being such an enlightening guide on this journey. Very much admire your grit and bull headedness. Looking forward to your thousandth, and wishing you the best on your way to the next thousand.
Priceless sarcasm about the :Cristal decanter flasks! 😂😂😂 Well done! 999 ,but still not boring at all! Thank you Ralfy! I've been watching you from the beginning, all 999 was very informative and funny, keep going, you are part of my life. Thanks
Congratulations Ralfy on 999 reviews! It's thanks to you I've learnt so much on my whisky journey. I've enjoyed all your reviews and look forward to number 1000! 😀 🥃
Knockdhu is on my bucket list to visit. Friends were in Scotland last year, but couldn't get their hands on this 24. Would love to have had a chance to try it. That being said, I did manage to get ahold of the 125th anniversary editions of the Cask Strength 16 and the Peat release here in Ontario, several years ago. Both are extraordinary whiskys, well worth savouring. Certainly one of my favourite distilleries! Look forward to hearing your thoughts on 1000 reviews (+ extras)... Cheers!🥃 Marian 🇨🇦
yea, what a journey ! ... thank you 🙏🏻 old boy, it has been a profitable privilege, to follow you all these years ... and; I am still ok for more ! 🍀 🥃 👍🏻
I'm in Australia. A few years ago I could buy this online for $250AUS .... did a search today .... can only see one supplier and it's $837. Another reason why I've walked away .....
What to say dear Ralfy!!! A great whisky and a great prelude to your next review numero 1000. I am enjoying a pipe with Amphora Kentucky tobacco and a Ledaig 10 while I send you my very best wishes and thanks 🙏. Ciao 👋 S.
Haven't seen you enjoying a malt that much for quite a while. Loved the "sucker" Part quiteba lot and the "Diaego - fool" Part in the end as well. Very well said! Thank you, Ralfy.
Another great one Ralfy. Big fan of anCnoc. Unfortunately I'll admit the 24 is a little out my price range so haven't tried it... Yet. However the 12 is my go to 'entry' and the 18, although not 'in yer face' exciting, is a very grown up, sophisticated and delicious dram. Congrats Ralphy, looking forward to 1000 and hopefully we'll all still be tuning in for review 1999
Hello, Molds for Malty Monsters, as a total beginner whisky connoisseur, I have a question for the more advanced of yous: Understood that 40% is the minimum alcohol content, and so the clever business people made it a standard to dilute their malts down to that, how come that we're not too upset to see 46 or 43, becoming the new (or next) standard? Those are clearly purer presentations, but why are they so popular among "quality whisky" producers? Is it for us acceptable just because better than 40, or is there a deeper reason why 46-43% are so popular and welcomed as "better presentation" ? Thanks in advance, and cheers to Ralfy for the imminent big achievement of 1k!
Excellent review Ralfy. Managed to grab this for £109 earlier in the year. Will be keeping it for a special occasion or 2! (Also got the 12 and 18 stowed away with it)
Hi Ralfy , thank you for the video and your expertise.🙏. I’ve been waiting for a long time to get this comment especially ancnoc24 which I loved. Take care Hugs from Ontario 🇨🇦🫶
This review has clearly done wonders for their sales. I'd been looking at buying this, but decided to wait a month or so. I'd even managed to source one priced £120. I've went back to buy it and can only find one retailer with it in stock at £179!
Thanks again Ralfy, you are quality without any hyperbole. To the point that one wants to be modest about their purchases. Living within one’s budget Taking a break once in a while Looking at small whiskey makers Who makes whiskey from the ground up The alpha and omega Thanks again
Wonderful - got me 2x of those couple years back. 1 to keep. The one to sip was my most disappointed 20+ aged malt! Ralfy, what is the batch on yours? All I remember was bitterness
It just so happens that I'm hoping to spend next week with the mrs in Scotland, exploring the far north. What better way for a Dutchman to view review M, than a hotel room in John 'o Groats. ("M" as in "1000" The ultimate malt mention. )
You are simply amazing. I have been following you for sometime, and must say you are highly underrated and need far more recognition. Keep up the good work and enlighten the whisky lovers with your honest reviews 🥃
I bought the 12 last week, despite the 40% etc, loved it! Its one of the cheapest 12 year olds in sweden. just ordered the 18 year old and im gonna order the 24 on its release! Got very happy about this review! P.s last week you were early with extras, which means, this weekk you’re late!
Hallo ralfy, Nice rewiev got an ancnoc 24 åpen from 2019 with only neckpour and I agree with you:) I have cunsider to buy creagallachie 13 what do you think of that one?:)
Ralfy! I wonder if you have considered a side-by-side comparison of a specific whisky with an older supposedly identical version of the product, to comment on the perceived changes. One that I love to do is 3 side by side whiskies: Johnnie Walker Green Label Pre-Discontinuation (circa 2014), Modern Green Label, & Duty Free limited edition "Island Green Label." Johnnie Walker supposedly discontinued Green Label temporarily, because some of the reserves for the standard recipe were in short supply. By the early 2010's, the product was drifting away from the original recipe, in particular, less of the peat smoke. Therefore, production was halted until stores could be replenished, and the original recipe could be correctly executed. Whereas, Island Green has intentionally turned up the peatiness. I think it's fun to compare & contrast these 3 recipes, with different amounts of peat in their respective profiles.
I cannot experience most of the whiskies you review, here in India. And, rely on friends and family procuring the travel variants from duty free. Recently, I experienced Glenfiddich 15yr Perpetual Vat 3 (un-chill filtered and 50%) and then Glenfiddich 15yr Solera (chill filtered and 40%). Totally agree with you; it was like they had turned it down so much for the regular Solera bottling. Probably one of the few cases where the makers have put out a BETTER version on the travel channel.
Hey ralfy congratulations and cheers. You are like a good representation whisky. Conistency, quality, transparency. :) I got a question for you somewhat out of the blue. The edradour natural cask strength series has been discontinued, and a 2015 bottling of a 14 year old whisky from a sherry cask has come to be one of my absolute favorites. In your opinion, is there something out there that's a good substitute and available?
And you are right Ralfy, prices getting absurd. But mostly with older whiskies. For me now, a Glendronach 10 years. Hard to find a review on that one online.
lifting a dram of Edradour SFTC 12yo Madeira Cask Matured @ 58.4 ; the bottle was reserved for revs 999 and 1000 (this is the kind of malt that requires Graeco-Roman wrestling skills)
@@billk9856 this particular liquid is exquisite, but it does need a lot of time and water. Then, the Madeira starts to become apparent in all its luscious notes, although the mouthfeel is not as thick as in the Amrut Madeira NAS (so this could have come from a drier Madeira wine variety cask, or a refill Madeira cask). At any rate, Edradour SFTC series are always memorable (even when they're over the top intractable; not to mention the Ballechins, which are almost warfare-like)
Do you need to put the bottle on its side from time to time to hydrate the cork. And if yes how often and for how long? Looking forward 2 the next video
Just bought a bottle of AnConoc 24yo. I’ve noticed that the front label has been stuck on the back side of the bottle. Did you have the same? Is this a bottling mistake?
A year ago I was so looking forward to review 1000 Unfortunately I got pancreatitis and am not allowed to drink anymore so watching the reviews is more like torture nowadays 😢
Congrats on 1000 Ralfy! Its been a great journey watching and learning from your videos ! Heres to many more !
You've led the way with SM education and advice .... distillers should listen to you Ralphy. Well done.

Thanks again Ralfy, you are quality without any hyperbole. To the point that one wants to be modest about their purchases.

Hallo ralfy, Nice rewiev got an ancnoc 24 åpen from 2019 with only neckpour and I agree with you:)
I have cunsider to buy creagallachie 13 what do you think of that one?:)
My guess is that this will be your whisky of the year!
I have this bottle. Grabbed it for 100 euro. One of the best value buys I've gotten ever. It is a bit of a complicated whisky but very good quality.
Who only 100 euro i pay 170 euro en 150 euro vor 2 bottles never seen this bottle vor 100 euro sadly
Yes this is a nice one and cheap compared to many 21yo marketing Blabla space malt Aston noble car whisky 😉

Nick from York

1000 coming, congratulations, good quality and not chill filtered comments.
Ralfy, if Springbank made Lagavulin I'd never be able to find a bottle to buy.
Ancoc 24 is out of my price range. How is the Ancoc 12?
Wohoooo🎉❤
How does Ancnoc 22 hold up to this one?

Got this malt for 130€. Surely one of the best malts i've tried in my 5 year whisky journey.
Just bought a bottle of AnConoc 24yo. I’ve noticed that the front label has been stuck on the back side of the bottle. Did you have the same?
