- For the past two years I have dealt with gradually worsening acne. I am working with a dermatologist (whom I LOVE) who has been helping me navigate the tricky waters of discovering the cause of the acne and how to help diminish it. I’ve learned many things throughout this process. Number one is, It’s NOT my fault (and it’s not yours either! ❤️) Acne can be a tricky beast due to any number of stressors, hormones, or sensitivity to certain products. Today I thought I would use my breakout “for the best” and take the opportunity to try the ALMAY Clear Complexion Foundation AND the @almay Clear Complexion Concealer! Both were good, but one of these products was an absolute STANDOUT!! Watch to see how the products work together to give me (the illusion) of clear skin! If you’re currently dealing with acne, whether mild, or severe, please know there is SO much more to beauty, than just the clarity of our skin! Hormones and stress can wreak havoc on our poor skin. You are definitely not alone, Jenny. You are one of the few TH-camrs who actually shows your true skin in natural light...which can show every little flaw. I get ready in my master bathroom that is more like a green house because it has two large windows that let in lots of light. And I have learned to love my natural skin!
Almay is a brand I tend to forget about!! So thank you for sharing these products. The concealer impressed me SO much! And, that it is a good idea to buy two shades. How would you have discovered that perfect shade, mixing them? When I was diagnosed with Addison's disease, it caused me to have large melasma stripes on my cheeks. It took lots of work with my dermatologist to take care of them, but I became very skilled at covering them! I remember shopping at Clinique, and removing my makeup, and the sales person was shocked to see how much I had to cover!!

@@foundationlady Getting rid of my melasma was a long process using hydroquinone, prescription strength. I had to be super consistent and patient, which is not a gift of mine.😬This was in 2011, and I don't remember anyone saying anything about laser treatment. I also have to be super diligent with sunscreen, and I stay out of the sun. I can even start to see a dim outline of melasma spots from the sun coming through the windows! So I wear sunscreen religiously. Unfortunately, this is why I am SO pale. As my skin has always tanned easily, this was such an adjustment!!
I'm so glad you are getting this treatment done! You will see results so much faster than I did. I hope you have found a dermatologist that you like and trust!! I'm curious if you have looked into light therapy masks? They were all the rage for a while, but I don't hear about them anymore!

I have heard of the light masks, and in fact my medical esthetician uses them on me a few minutes each time I go see her! I'd love to get one for home use, but I definitely need to some research first.

I totally agree Jules! The products I've tried from them have been REALLY good! I've noticed that the acne products seem to be in new packaging? I'm hoping they rebrand, in a way that can catch consumers eye a little easier, because the products themselves are great! ❤️

My teen uses and really likes this concealer. She dosen't like a full face foundation but will spot cover blemishes with the Almay salicylic concealer
