Please come to the Himalayas. You'll forget you're in the tropics. There are three ranges, the Shivaliks (lower), the Himachal (middle) and Himadri (upper) ranges.
If you are interested in old hindu style architecture, please do checkout BELUR and HALEBEEDU it's 900 years old monument, around 3 hour jounery from Madikeri. A lot of things which are nowadays difficult to even draw on a paper is carved out of stones over there.
Best way to see Coorg/Madikeri is to stay in a coffee estate homestay. You will see how they grow coffee and other spices and get a taste of local food :)
Awesome as always and thanks for the "Tropical Switzerland"/Madikeri/ Hill Station walking tour. Pretty nice park there and l would say there's a little similarities to Switzerland.. 🤓. Chocolates and momos look yum yum and tempting. Nice vlog and well done, Mr Moonshine 💪
I just returned from a trip to Coorg and it was a pretty enjoyable experience, though the ideal time to visit would've been winters when it's cooler. Madikeri is a nice town in itself but it serves as a gateway to many other places nearby such as Mangalpatti nestled in the mountainous Western Ghats, Namdroling Monastery which has such some amazing Tibetan architecture, as well as many tea, coffee and sandalwood plantations nearby. If you're in Karnataka, as many have pointed out places like Belur (Chennakesava Temple) and Hampi have some of the best temple architecture in India. Finally, the mountain states up north do offer some spectacular views of snow covered mountains and crystal clear rivers. Check out places like Har ki Dun, Chandrataal etc in the states of Himachal and Uttarakhand (my dp is from one of these places) which can be visited once the snow clears up during winters. All the best for your stay here!
Having returned from a week-long trip to Mysore and Coorg, all I can say that they're "must visit" places, especially to get away from the daily boring life and enjoy the lush-green landscapes all around. This video was like a quick flashback of what I visited in the Madikeri town. I can relate to so many things in this video! Got all those memories from a month ago refreshed in my mind! Enjoy!
Haha!! A few degrees drop in temperature qualifies as Swiss resort in most tropical countries!!! Lovely hill station .. think it’s legacy from the British!! The MoMos looks like dumplings? Looks delicious!! 😃
If you up North or North East you will get places where temperature drops to -40°C...and you will find quite a few Switzerlands in Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and the North Eastern states....area wise these are much bigger than Switzerland..
Sir u should visit madikeri in winters like September to December u will see the real nature beauty of madikeri and more over u will feel like ur in your own country Switzerland**

If your staying in Karnataka, you should definitely check out the temple towns of Belur, Halebidu, Melukote, Somnathapura, Lakkundi, Badami, Aihole, Shravanabelagola, Pattadakal and Itagi. Then there's the Imperial City of Vijayanagara (Hampi), the tombs of Vijayapura like the Gol Gumbaz and the Fortresses of Chitradurga, Bidar and Srirangapatna. Then there's the beautiful beaches of Gokarna and Udupi as well as the natural monuments along the Western Ghats.
If you are still in Madikeri, you must try the Big Cup Coffee House on the outskirts of Madikeri, and also you will find a big Tibetian Colony right outside Madikeri, some 5-10 km away, but a worth visiting place. You can google for the tibetian Monestary and you will find it easily. Also you can go on some coffee plantation tours like the Sun Blessed Coffee where they have huge area of coffee plantations. I just visited these place last month and had a great time in madikeri. Hope you enjoy your time there. Take Care.

it will be nice if you try curry and chutney separately... after you can also try mixing.. but mixing will produce a third taste and mixing will lose the authentic taste of individual curries..
