One time I was playing Skyrim with my brother and we discovered a wrecked ship and when we went into the captain's room the captain was a skeleton smushed under a giant trunk and in the trunk were a bunch of health potions.

Skyrim Hack: fast travel to Helgen, walk up the path through the mountains, make a left when you clear the mountains and keep going north till you reach Ivarsted. I swear I played this game for 5 years before I realized i could cut through that mountain pass.

Kevin if you read this, I just want to explain to you why you couldn't fast travel at the start: when you exit the cabin, there is always a small kind of piranha in the waters nearby, it is not actively engaging you but it's close enough to trigger the "you're in combat" check and disable fast travel, the easiest solution is as you've done, to just get the feck away until it stops bothering you and lets you fast travel

My character Aremuri, a redgaurd vampire, is pretty much the oppisate of kevin's character. Instead of looking non-threatening but being evil, she looks evil but is non-threatening... Sometimes. Other times she turns into a vampire lord and slaughters villages.
Life hack: fill your house with lizards to prevent mice (I would have expected a cat, but I suppose the Irish do things a little differently 🤷🏻♀️)
If you get a big enough lizard they double as home security. Just watch your ankles!
