Can confirm, they are sturdy. I abused them mightily on the Arizona BDR. I went down hard on a very steep, rocky incline. One plastic buckle was a casualty, sheared off by a sharp rock. Otherwise, just some light scuffing. Through it all the bags are still functional and watertight. The crash was severe enough to bend the crash bars (Outback Motortek, so not flimsy) back into my radiator on one side. The bags had mostly soft stuff in them, and probably saved me from worse damage to the bike. Maybe next time I'll strap a bag to my head and save my helmet too.
I also carry two tubes....for one damn good reason. Changing a tube once sucks.....but having to change the tube you just changed....AGAIN.....because it's the wrong size 🙄 is another level of suck. I will gladly deal with the annoyance of carrying two tubes just to avoid that experience 👌👍.
I went ahead and saved them on my wish list for the day I do a real trip. And I also need to get a spare rear instead of just carrying a front because I know what you mean about stressing out about it if I had to use it in the rear. It would eat at me and take away from the experience lol

That's great feedback! I'm glad my luck with these bags wasn't a fluke.
I carry two tubes for exactly the same reason. It’s smart. And a front tube doesn’t always work in the rear.
Wow, I thought I was the only one lol. 🙃

Yeah, I get the need to go light. But we're not blipping up Mt Everest. I can't see a time I would ever regret carrying both tubes.
What bag do you have on your tank ?
Mosko Moto Nomax
I like having tubeless
