At times we get so many calls and we're not able to get to everything, but we are doing our best - we work from early morning until late at night 7 days a week! Also, I am so happy you are enjoying our wildlife rescues. It makes me sad that these videos usually don't get many views. I wish more people would have watched and appreciated these beautiful wild animals who live all around us.
I would love it if we had rescuers like you in Chicago. There's so many dogs and cats that are homeless and you don't know how they will manage through the winter. I have tried calling the ones we have and not even a response. Thank You for being who you are 💖
@orionh3000 Agree. Other species are born to be in the wild. Even cats seem to be able to fend for themselves better in the wild and on the streets. Independent creatures. Dogs are essentially dependent on humans for their care.
The fact that the dog was wearing a harness makes me believe the homeless owner cared, maybe had him on a leash sometimes. I wonder if this was a case of the homeless person being chased away from where he/she was and it just wasn't possible to get all the dogs rounded up. It hurts my heart to think that, wherever he/she is they are hurting because they couldn't bring this dog with them. The homeless who care enough to give dogs a home should get all the help we can give them. If the homeless person was chased away/forced to leave an area, shame on the person/business who did that. I'm glad Garfield was rescued and hope he gets a forever home soon. I'm so happy Eldad has a cart with wheels to roll the cage around, making the work for him and his fellow rescuers much easier.
It’s highly unlikely the owner didn’t care, a lot of times when people are on the street their pets are the only friends they have, unfortunately. Homeless people are treated terribly in the US, dogs can help them get through the day. I’m glad the dog was rescued and I really hope the owner is okay.
That's all I could think about. Is anyone looking for the owner? What a pity it would be if the dog and owner were not reunited. Besides, the owner might be in worse danger than the dog.

I don't know why, but it's such a treat for me to watch the rescued dogs get a bath! And I am always amazed at how calm they are receiving it! I love this channel!
I love it too, the dogs and cats being groomed by Eldad or Loretta or any of that team, makes me happy seeing them after the bath, the serving of the meal and water also.
Daniel Martinez Homeless often have mobile phones, which they normally use to access free internet, they do also sofa surf from time to time, which again often gives them use of internet. That’s how it is over here in the U.K. anyway.
Here in Southern Ca, sometimes volunteers for homeless can get a person into a shelter or a hotel room with little notice, especially now with a Covid precautions. They always have to leave their animal behind, sadly. The best thing has happened for this dog. To be rescued and given help. I’m sure someone will adopt and care for this pretty boy(?) (girl?)

The construction guy who fed Garfield clearly fed him a LOT! Lol! As long as doggie gets exercise and a proper diet for his size he'll be fine. I'm thinking he's a corgi papillon mix. Jmo

Homeless people aren’t fundamentally any different than other people, except for where they live. And many are just as devoted to their pets as any other person. That doesn’t mean they are all that way, just like people with homes some are terrible and some are good. In the end we are all just people.
yeah i remembered the day a guy stopped by a restaurant i use to work at, he asked for some food and i gave it to him and he took it to his dog. he wasn't eating anything, just wanted his dog fed, so i fed him and the dog and gave him food for him and the dog for later and water. homeless people love their animals. that's really how both of them survive. but good lawd, whoever this homeless guy was, was feeding that dog really good. but i wonder what happened to him and the other dog. doesn't sound good

I’ve seen many in my state & every time I swear the dogs gets the best treatment from their homeless owners from what I can see with my eyes b/c idk what happens at night times but I’m sure it’s all good b/c I’ve seen homeless ppl push their dogs in their cart under shade on a hot day lol! I’m like damn that dog has it good lmfao🤣🤣🤣💯💯💯

Pets are often the thing that keep them going in the struggle to feel human in a society that discards and disregards them. Get sick? Die? Go to jail? It's not common for the homeless to abandon their pets like they've been abandoned. And obviously the dog was cared for - it wasn't deeply matted, horribly dirty or emaciated. And it had a harness. This dog was loved. If the homeless man is alive he's probably very worried and stressed at not knowing where his companion is.❤🐕❤

TheRivrPrncess where I used to live I rescued a stray cat and took it to the shelter because I couldn’t keep it. When I was filling out the paperwork, I saw there was a $40 FEE to surrender an animal. If they can’t afford their pet what makes you think they can afford to pay you to take it??? I don’t even want to know how many times that’s led someone to abandon an animal.

I wish the city would have a service of some kind that when a homeless person dies or goes to jail or moves away, their dogs could be taken care of and found homes for. We may never know what happened to Garfield’s owner but I hope he’s somewhere getting help.
I couldn't help but think that they may have stolen some homeless persons dog. I think its an excellent idea you have there. They could have left a note where to get their dog if it is a case where the homeless person could come get their dog.
Los Angeles does have non-profit rescues (like HFP) that focus on helping people take care of their pets. Some are set up in the city and county shelters to intercept those who feel they must surrender an animal, because they think it's the right thing to do when they can no longer afford food or vetcare. And it is, but the municipal shelters, which cannot by law refuse any animals, are overwhelmed as it is, and I can only imagine how it is now with Covid, the economic and housing crises. Yet isn't it better, whenever possible, to try keeping the people who love their pets together? When you consider the costs of accepting animals into the shelter system and the efforts to rehome them all, often resulting in euthanizations anyway due to overcrowding, it's just a heartbreaking vicious cycle and a sad waste of life and love. Of course, these programs will reach out to rescues and rehome if that's ultimately better for the pet, but all in all, it's just a more efficient, empathetic and humane way of doing "rescue".

He looks like he has some Papillon in him. My Papillon named Dillon passed away this year on 8/26/2020. He was my first dog that I grew extremely attached to. He gave me 13.5 good years of happiness with him. I miss you buddy.

I wish the city would have a service of some kind that when a homeless person dies or goes to jail or moves away, their dogs could be taken care of and found homes for. We may never know what happened to Garfield’s owner but I hope he’s somewhere getting help.

This sounds crazy but how about taking care of the homeless person first? Why look after the dogs before helping its owner?
I couldn't help but think that they may have stolen some homeless persons dog. I think its an excellent idea you have there. They could have left a note where to get their dog if it is a case where the homeless person could come get their dog.
Los Angeles does have non-profit rescues (like HFP) that focus on helping people take care of their pets. Some are set up in the city and county shelters to intercept those who feel they must surrender an animal, because they think it's the right thing to do when they can no longer afford food or vetcare. And it is, but the municipal shelters, which cannot by law refuse any animals, are overwhelmed as it is, and I can only imagine how it is now with Covid, the economic and housing crises. Yet isn't it better, whenever possible, to try keeping the people who love their pets together? When you consider the costs of accepting animals into the shelter system and the efforts to rehome them all, often resulting in euthanizations anyway due to overcrowding, it's just a heartbreaking vicious cycle and a sad waste of life and love. Of course, these programs will reach out to rescues and rehome if that's ultimately better for the pet, but all in all, it's just a more efficient, empathetic and humane way of doing "rescue".
@@Salma-jk4nr In the video it says the homeless person left with his other dogs, meaning Garfield was abandoned by his owner. HFP rescues animals, not people. Other agencies take care of humans.
From the scared dog at the beginning to a happy dog with a huge smile as he plays, just beautiful. Lovely looking dog too and someone is going to get a wonderful addition to their family. Can't see this gorgeous dog waiting long for a forever, loving home.

He looks like he has some Papillon in him. My Papillon named Dillon passed away this year on 8/26/2020. He was my first dog that I grew extremely attached to. He gave me 13.5 good years of happiness with him. I miss you buddy.

I am very anxious about the future, I can’t imagine life without him... But I know one thing for sure; you loved Dillon and he is surely in heaven and watching over you fondly! I wish If I could donate. But then, I think of the Rescue teams like Animal Aid India and Peepli Farm, who are trying to help these poor creatures with limited means. I donate to such organizations once in a Month.
