It's nice to see DM's are getting some toys finally. 5e has been so player focused for it's entire run we often forget that a lot of DM's, myself included, like to have some randomness thrown into the game and be able to craft a story from it. Tables are great, but I could see myself having a lot of fun coming up with adventure hooks using this method for more sandbox-style games or maybe for weeks where I wasn't able to get as much prep in and get an inspirational kickstart.
Same... and just something about reading cards out to the party as a DM gives off more of a mystical vibe and as if they are coming into fruition. Also it is quite fun as a DM toolkit as DMs can practice their improv skills and weave together a campaign without getting bogged down on tge details.
@@finnmchugh99 Agreed, obviously I'm stoked about the adventure hook tool here but I'm also pretty impressed with the added effort for its use as an in-game tool, seems like they tried to find many ways it can be used instead of it's reputation of being a force of chaos in a campaign. Combining this with something like Tome of Adventure Design could yeild some pretty fun results I think.
I enjoyed how as you were presenting the cards, I was sitting there thinking of other ideas. Even with the same cards in the same position, it inspires different ideas.
Love this concept for DM's like myself that love randomization on your campaign. YOu can meticulously plan out VERY DETAIL of your world and campaign, but your players are BOUND to do something off the rails. This gives you the opportunity as you are reavelaing the cards, to create a generalloose outfit of the adventure, for the planning DM, but also ginves a sense of divination/randomness the a sporatic DM can tweak and implement at any time during the adventure. which can still give the players the sense of "THE CARDS WERE RIGHT". Absolutely love this concept, and so glad they really leaned into a concept like this. THis will be used for mayn years to come for sure. And especially with the new 66 Card Decks! cannot wait!
I'd love if there was an option to buy just the deck itself. I've already purchased the digital edition and don't really have the space for more books, let alone repurchasing it!
As a tarot reader I clearly see the roots of this system. I have actually used a full 78 card tarot deck to generate ideas for plots. This is a great DM tool, it's just a pity it's going to cost £80. What happens if some of the cards become damaged or lost? Can you get replacement cards or do you need to spend £80 to buy a whole new box set?
Man!! I think all the preorders are sold out. This video sold me! Hoping they get more preorders in stock! If not, I''ll definitely be knowing what to ask for Christmas haha. Anyone know about further availability after November 14th?
does anybody know if I purchase the digital edition will i get the cards in digital form as part of the book or do the new cards only come with the digital + Physical bundle?

Reminds me of old school rpg chrono trigger, and shining force

Balance is the card I painted!! ❤ so exciting to see it here! Thank you! 🥰
😍
So sick!!! Good job
You did a really good job! I just checked your portfolio and its amazing! I would love to get a commision from WoTC one day haha.
This is genuinely awesome I've just used my deck and book to build a one shot in 5 minutes. That's amazing.
I adore Makenzie's enthusiasm and the creativity she has brought to this project and the D&D team. 🥰
This is actually fantastic, I could Imagine rivaling Dwarves and Duergar fighting over the hoard of a deceased gem dragon deeper into the crater.
This is just fun. Really gets the creative juices flowing

Yay! I am getting into DMing, and this resource seems like such a fun aid for many dungeon masters!
Is this included in the digital version?
nope
Ooh! Nice.
does anybody know if I purchase the digital edition will i get the cards in digital form as part of the book or do the new cards only come with the digital + Physical bundle?
The cards only come with the physical copy
The guidebook content telling you how to do this adventure build and reference what the cards do also isn’t included on DDB
I want it now Please. more physical props that have in game uses please!!!
So keep making more adventure…….. sword and sorcery and heavy metal YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
well this has probably already been loaded into ai for automated generation.
cool cards though.
Is it just me or does the video seem to be in 1.25 mode? 😂
She is probably just a fast speaker
They microdose on the west coast, I would too if I lived there.
and to think... you could do this all for free with some random tables
some of us like real well made physical products rather than using a apps. not to mention its a cool collectors piece.
And no one will stop you from doing it either. Play the game how you like. As long as you and the table are having fun who cares how the idea starts.
