I watched it three times last week but only because I had not watched it for roughly a year. Lol JK I watched it three times because I love this movie. Amazing piece of art
I’m half mexican and half white and with an older brother as a history major he did say that in high school (and I agree after graduating) slavery is talked about but not gone into detail. It’s definitely something that is hidden because people don’t want to face the harsh brutality that happened towards other human beings based on the color of their skin. I just don’t understand how this movie could be controversial for being vulgar or violent or disturbing because that is exactly how it was and if they can say the truth behind the film is important then I agree with them and I support what they say. It’s hard to watch but only because of how accurate torture and punishment was towards slaves. They did a beautiful job in Django and the theme song is one of my favorites without a doubt. America gotta step up and acknowledge what the hell went on.
Django unchained is one of the top 5 movies of all time . It is set in a time when slavery was legal. Take it for what it is a movie, and a damn good one. Samuel L Jackson makes the movie what it is.
Im an Aussie watching from the outside in, and to witness the closed minds of society opening up, and for those who fight to stay closed being dragged over the line kicking and screaming is a gift. Some advice for those who are resisting freedom evolving is this Leave these people alone and let them find their place, find themselves and heal the generational suffering that truly needs to be allowed. Express express express allow expression of the grief it's a very important stage of the transition forward. Love being human, we are all human
Your skin colour and nationality you were born into is all an accidental chain of events of which you had no control over, therefor I see pride in that as being pretty ignorant and short-sighted. Aspects of your ethnic culture should be celebrated sure, but nationality for nationality's sake and the colour of your skin alone is no reason to be proud, at least not to the point where it affects your judgement of others and ability to build friendships with people outside of your roots.
Understanding your ethnicity and being proud of your lineage is a normal thing. If you're ignorant, hateful, disrespectful and dishonorable, it doesn't matter what your views on "race" are.
what jamie fox says is true except for when he says that he is considered a racist for being proud of his black heritage. all blacks can get away with that, but saying your proud of being white is when u r labeled a racist
Django and The Revenant are my fav films about American history. Let's never forget that the US power and glory was built on the ground soaked with the blood of Native Americans.
They call it "atlantic triangular slavetrade" because, as much as Murikah like to feel special and exceptional, North Atlantic slave trade was but one instance in wast expanse of pain and misery that is slavery in human history.
What was going on is our curse. Deuteronomy 28 is our explanation. If we would have understood that ...maybe we would have sinned less and had no idols before and above TMH(God)
