Milo is my fav energy drink in the morning all time! That rich texture and taste of chocolate is so good! But, no need extra sugar as it already sweeten.
OMG finally the "Thirsty For" videos are back in Tastemade~!!! I've watched all of them since I was a kid & found all of them very satisfying to watch. It wasn't until a few years passed, I couldn't find at least one single "Thirsty For" drink video. But now, I'm so happy all the videos are back. THANK YOUUU~!!!! XD
In New Zealand everyone drinks this! There are whole isles of milo in some grocery stores. We never add sugar though! It's definetly sweet enough as is.
In my country, they sell different milo: just milo itself, milo with sugar and milo with both milk powder and sugar. For most of the time, we would get the one with milk powder and sugar so that simply adding hot water into the mixture can do.
I live in Singapore and Milo is a literally a necessity to kids, we usually just pour hot water, a few tablespoons of milo and sweetened condensed milk, and we can get so creative with milo and sweetened condensed milk. The memories.
Take it from the Australian, put in 3-infinity tabletspoons of milo into a large cup (the bigger the better) pour in milk till a cm from the top, stir that shit like youre making a tornado, once its like a milo froth on top, put another 3-infinity tablespoons on top, sort of push around the top of the milo so it has some milk in it, eat the milo off with a spoon, once gone, add more milo, repeat until desired, then scull that milo milk till its all gone. Or... put milo on top of ice cream
OMG this is classic Singapore drinks at the kopi tiam (sort of corner coffee shop). So good and oh so bad for the waist line. They have Horlicks (straight up malt) variants which are just as good.
I really really love this close-up and silent format for cooking instructional videos. It's awesomely artistic and I wish this style was used on normal food videos.
cant get enough of milo, always get told 1-3 teaspoons is enough but i never listen, always put at least 4 heap tablespoons in with just milk, never add sugar, perfect the way it is.
I loved Thirsty For videos - the editing, music etc it's so good! Makes me a crave for one, feel like going to the nearest kopitiam and grab a glass of milo dinosaur!
i used to drink milo everyday back home in fiji :') it was tough trying to find non-austrialian milo here in canada, but i managed! (australian milo is much sweeter) but i found a fiji shop that sells it! so glad. i buy it by the huge tins :')
I grew up drinking Milo! This brings such good memories! Many places make this milo volcano- a smoothie with a mountain of milo powder on the top yummmmm
you never taste ovaltine ? we have ovaltine in Philippines when i was a kid ,,, its a chocolate drink also ,,, these two brands milo and ovaltine is like rivals , milo wins i think ,,, because i can't see ovaltine now , i can't find them on grocery stores ... but ovaltine comes in chocolate candy tablets too ,,,,
Junrie Caoile Nevermind, I know whats ovaltine now. I just saw it yesterday in the supermarket, I had it before when I was a kid, but don't know what its called.
Another awesome video as always! My favorite way to consume Milo is by the spoonful. Especially if it's a little damp (by our tropical climate) and becomes chewy. So good...
They sell Milo at my local Publix and I enjoy drinking it to this day. I don't do it all that often, but a glass of cold milk with a couple teaspoons of the stuff goes down great-no extra sugar required! I always loved stirring the milk only slightly so the Milo wouldn't completely disintegrate. It tastes strangely good when wet and crunchy. Thanks for the video. I may well give this a try soon!
As an Aussie, these just look like standard ways of drinking milo haha. My personal fave would be the "magic milo", I just call them all milo, but topped with WAY more milo on top with no added sugar. Yum.
Milo is a drink I've not only grew up on here in the Philippines, but it's been my morning drink to keep me hyped for the day! Better do this concoction soon!
Im from Malaysia and I grew up drinking milo for breakfast in the morning. Now that I'm studying in the states I brought 5 kilos of milo with me :) I usually drink it without milk and sugar, just with hot water, its called "milo kosong" or "milo-o"
Milo is still around in the Mediterranean! My dad used to love it when he was a child, and to this day calls any warm milky drink (that isn't tea or coffee) a Milo,
I was going to complain that this isn't how you make milo, then I read the name of the video and realised it's like a mocktail and isn't meant to be normal milo. What a novel concept, reading the name of a video.
WOW. milo dinosaur! haven't had that in such a long time! (grew out of my sweet tooth) fellow Singaporean here. We can get that almost everywhere (or homemade if we want to) Heard from my Aunt that Milo is known to many older generation here as Ka Kiu (Hokkien, a Chinese dialect for Soccer) since it was first imported here decades ago with a man kicking a ball printed on the container.
Or....just try it heaped into cold milk and stirred with a spoon. It won't dissolve straight away so you get to eat the soggy/crunchy chocolate that rises to the top. Don't add sugar as it's got heaps in it already from the malt. Thanks for posting. Yum!
If you're hungry for a snack, you can always use the Milo powder as a spread on a piece of bread and eat it straight up. Used to always have that as a child. ^.^
Yey Milo Dinosaur! Its everywhere here in Malaysia especially in mamak stalls. But i think they make in using condensed milk instead of sugar and milk. Will absolutely try the Milo Godzilla!
I love this. I never realized that most Americans never had milo before, (it's a chocolate malt similar to ovaltine but the grains are a bit grittier but taste better). I've grown up on it since I'm Jamaican, but you'd have to live in a multicultural area to get it In a store.
We used to have Milo in México, and I always loved it more than Nesquick or Chocomilk, the competitors, because it was less sweet!!! How I miss it!!! I didn't know it was from Australia! Thank you!
Reminds me of my childhood. I remember there were packs for just a single serving and I just ate the powder, no milk, just the Milo powder. It was awesome. Then you'd end up with powder all over your face. Awesome
i usually drink my milo with a glass of cold milk. it wouldn't dissolve into the milk but that's why it taste good! you'd have the crunchiness and it wouldn't be too sweet and just fresh and cold drink!
In my experience (and I have experimented A LOT with milo!) I find using condensed milk works really well, and brings out the uniquely rich, malty, chocolate-y flavour of milo that you don't really find in other instant powdered chocolate drinks. :) Fresh milk is fine, but using that as the main liquid ingredient I think gives it a more 'hot chocolate/cocoa' sort of 'boiled milk' taste. It's good if you just want a malty hot chocolate though! Condensed milk on the other hand has a bit more of a 'honey/caramel' flavour and this added caramelly sweetness doesn't just make the drink taste milky/creamy, but makes it really malty and that tiny bit sweeter (kind of like liquid milky Maltesers!). Just substitute the warmed milk with condensed milk and hot water - add extra sugar/milk (fresh or whatever) to taste and you have the perfect cup IMO :D The condensed milk method I think is the best for iced milo too!
How to make the best milo (from am Aussie): 2 heaped tablespoons of milo. Little bit of milk just to cover milo. Make into a paste Add ice cream. Top with more milk. Add more milo. Done. It's more a meal than drink Haha! When you added sugar I nearly yelled at my phone! Totally sweet enough without. But yet again I grew up on milo. Milo is also great just over ice cream. And in smoothies with banana and yogurt!
strawberriechoc The unsweetened form in Asia also contains heaps of sugar. Go figure... Then again, we usually use condensed milk instead of milk + sugar in Malaysia which is where the extra sugar comes from.
This is also a common drink in my country, Malaysia (: For a sweeter twist, substitute the sugar with condensed milk (equal amount, or why not, add some more) for that extra-creamy goodness! Nyummm!
How about Spice Milo Chai - Try adding a pinch of ground cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice to the Milo before adding the hot milk! Adds a new dimension and makes it "adult"! I love it!
In Singapore where Milo Dinosaur is common, we do not add ice cream. It's milo powder, hot water, condensed milk. No added sugar as well...and Ice is added and the powder floated on top. That's the singapore version...as well as Malaysian...(I grew up on both sides) I believe this version is an inspired version or perhaps, you might wanna reveal which country is serving your variant?
In Colombia we put everything in a blender with cold milk and serve it cold and frothy. Come to think of it, I haven't had it since I was a kid!

Some of the milos in certain asian countries use mainly hot water, then we mix it with condensed sweetened milk
Exactly
The production quality of this video was great! Thanks for the post.
Really, really innovative way of framing different variations of a recipe. I couldn't love this channel more.
I live in Singapore and Milo is a literally a necessity to kids, we usually just pour hot water, a few tablespoons of milo and sweetened condensed milk, and we can get so creative with milo and sweetened condensed milk. The memories.
Loved the graphics and story board! Brilliant!
By the way, add cold milk, not hot milk
OMG this is classic Singapore drinks at the kopi tiam (sort of corner coffee shop). So good and oh so bad for the waist line. They have Horlicks (straight up malt) variants which are just as good.
What a cool recipe. I have never heard of it, but I am happy one of my fans sent me some Milo the other day. Can't wait to try this out.
I LOVE this series! Thanks for second season.
I really really love this close-up and silent format for cooking instructional videos. It's awesomely artistic and I wish this style was used on normal food videos.
I loved this SO much. Thank you for returning, my dark days are now over.
cant get enough of milo, always get told 1-3 teaspoons is enough but i never listen, always put at least 4 heap tablespoons in with just milk, never add sugar, perfect the way it is.
Oh I miss Milo. In Singapore during cross country meets, a milo truck owuld come, and after racing we would get free milo. Best days ever
Here in Singapore we use water instead of milk but we add condensed milk so we omit the sugar. Malaysians use water too.
a few heaped tablespoons of milo and a little splash of milk is literally the most satisfying thing ever! in fact, i'm going to make some now :P
This is the most amazing video I've ever seen :D
I loved Thirsty For videos - the editing, music etc it's so good! Makes me a crave for one, feel like going to the nearest kopitiam and grab a glass of milo dinosaur!
I'd love to see you make kombucha!
i used to drink milo everyday back home in fiji :')
it was tough trying to find non-austrialian milo here in canada, but i managed!
(australian milo is much sweeter) but i found a fiji shop that sells it! so glad. i buy it by the huge tins :')
In Thailand, children love it when Milo powder is added on top and forms a mountain-like shape. So we literally call it "Volcanic Milo".
I grew up drinking Milo! This brings such good memories! Many places make this milo volcano- a smoothie with a mountain of milo powder on the top yummmmm
Americans be like : The heck is Milo?
Asians be like : The heck is Ovaltine?
No seriously though, what's Ovaltine? ._.
you never taste ovaltine ? we have ovaltine in Philippines when i was a kid ,,, its a chocolate drink also ,,, these two brands milo and ovaltine is like rivals , milo wins i think ,,, because i can't see ovaltine now , i can't find them on grocery stores ... but ovaltine comes in chocolate candy tablets too ,,,,

I do that too. Love it!
So creative & cute!
Breathtaking and delicious, as always!
Miss this so much! When I was young, I loved mixing cold milk with milo. The texture is very interesting!
As an Aussie, these just look like standard ways of drinking milo haha. My personal fave would be the "magic milo", I just call them all milo, but topped with WAY more milo on top with no added sugar. Yum.
You could also use Milo as a bread spread. But you know, it's a bit messy but super good.
Nom!! I grew up drinking Milo
I love the way this video was shot!
Awesome! We ❤ Milo
Milo is a drink I've not only grew up on here in the Philippines, but it's been my morning drink to keep me hyped for the day! Better do this concoction soon!

i love Milo!! used to drink it all the time when i was little. It's rare to find it in American stores.
Never thought Milo dinosaur would make it here!! Was totally addicted to Milo as a kid, still am...
Milo is a drink widely drank in South East Asia. As far as i could rmb we had 'Dinosaur' in Singapore's Indian Prata Shop since the 1990s...
Took me right back to my childhood. Thank you :)
If you're hungry for a snack, you can always use the Milo powder as a spread on a piece of bread and eat it straight up. Used to always have that as a child. ^.^
Looks so tempting! I should try this for my daughter. I like the glass sauce pan that you use to heat milk. Where can I find something like that.
In Singapore, the base(what is used overall) is usually just plain hot water, then we add in condensed milk and also we don't add extra sugar.
Milo plus Icecream equals AWESOME!!!!!!!
Awesome

I thought there was gonna be no more thirsty for? I'll be soo happy if you guys changed your minds! I love the thirsty for series!
they just finished the first season, this is the second one :)
What milk you using??
OMG . BRILLIANT !
How to make the best milo (from am Aussie):
2 heaped tablespoons of milo.
Little bit of milk just to cover milo.
Make into a paste
Add ice cream.
Oh my gravy boat! This looks so yummy!
wow i never add extra sugar, milo's sweet enough! or i just dump shit ttonnes more milo lol
From my experience, Milo from Australia is different from the stuff we can get imported into the US, and possibly different than the Asian Milo.
Milo over here in Asia are sold in both sweetened and unsweetened (dry powder) forms (:
strawberriechoc The unsweetened form in Asia also contains heaps of sugar. Go figure... Then again, we usually use condensed milk instead of milk + sugar in Malaysia which is where the extra sugar comes from.
The final recipe Looks delioucious
Ahhhh, love it! Brings back memories :)
MILO AND COFFEE. SO GOOD.
This is also a common drink in my country, Malaysia (: For a sweeter twist, substitute the sugar with condensed milk (equal amount, or why not, add some more) for that extra-creamy goodness! Nyummm!
I can't believe someone would even make this video!!!! You know I will not be able to think of anything else but Milo until I try one! ....or all 3!
We absolutely love milo here in Singapore. Woohoooooo!
I love milo! I used to drink it all the time when I went to visit my family in Peru :)

So cool! Like it
Such a cool video
I use to make a paste of milo and condense milk, so good. Mmmm, now I want some and I'm 33. Thanks a lot.
I did that too! And spread it on bread. :D
I know, it was so good... :D
How about Spice Milo Chai - Try adding a pinch of ground cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice to the Milo before adding the hot milk! Adds a new dimension and makes it "adult"! I love it!
nice song
i love your tutorial!!! I have been using this =)
where'd you buy the glass mug!
We don't have Milo here in Belgium nor France, but this gives me ideas to use with chocolate milk ;)
NO! home come this has only 86k views?? this deserves more views!
even though I've never liked Milo as a child, I loved this video... so I'm considering giving Milo a second try as an adult :P
Ohhhh milo is literally one of the best things in the world.
I'm British but some of my neighbours as a kid were Malaysian and they LOVED this stuff! It was really good, haven't had I for so long though :(
I want the Magic Milo. Plus, I love my aerolatte frother, it makes warm drinks delicious!
In Singapore where Milo Dinosaur is common, we do not add ice cream.
It's milo powder, hot water, condensed milk. No added sugar as well...and Ice is added and the powder floated on top.
That's the singapore version...as well as Malaysian...(I grew up on both sides)

I live in Singapore and they do sell this and they are addictively delicious!!!!
