You are the first person that has given me a strategy to find my 4th great grandmother. It is an incredible amount of data but but because I have a fairly completed tree that far back on both sides because of 5 generations of LDS it is a little easier.
You need to pin a comment for the part your microphone stopped working early on as you waited for the poll results, I almost stopped listening, but stuck with it, some others might not.
Thank you for putting this on TH-cam. I saw the first four classes at Roots tech, however was not able to attend the 5th session clearly my family tree requires the above and beyond master classes. All my best known matches have multiple relationships
This is great but since Ancestry has updated their DNA pages (including Pro Tools), most of my matches from 2nd cousin have both paternal AND maternal shared matches. Following your method that everyone gets a dot, it would mean that many matches would have the same dot even though they are definitely not on the same line. I have BKM’s that I know are on the paternal and maternal sides but Ancestry say they are connected through shared matches…..please help!
It sounds like they are endogamous and the dot system won't work for this. Here are some resources about endogamy that could help. www.yourdnaguide.com/ydgblog/what-is-endogamy www.yourdnaguide.com/ydgblog/endogamy-dna-test-jewish www.yourdnaguide.com/ydgblog/endogamy-success
This video gives me hope I can figure out my mom's Pennsylvania ancestors, who come from a community where the families seem tangled, with children by marriage and not. And of course they all have the same names🙃
It helps to upload, when you are ready, to another service that allows DNA uploads, such as MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA, Gedmatch, LivingDNA. You never know where your Best Match tested.
will my gg great uncles family qualify for banyan he married 7 wives had 55 children some were sisters i don't look at matches to the chamberlain side of my family as you can imagine there are quite. a few. he joined LDS before it was made illegal he went to prison for 6 months there are books and lots of articles written on the family. Also prior to him there were multiple inter relation marriages on this side of the family

I read RootsMagic 10 has a Leeds method built in. Learning curves getting me.
It does!
I am not consistent with checking the matches of my matches - I need to slow down and do that

I had the same issue. But I did manage to solve it. How far back is the ancestor you are looking for?
Sorry I'm late!
I saw you at Roots tech and saved your channel ❤

Have you established it is impossible for some matches to share both your maternal and paternal ancestors?
I get so distracted. I go down endless rabbit holes. So I’m starting over with genetic matches.
This video gives me hope I can figure out my mom's Pennsylvania ancestors, who come from a community where the families seem tangled, with children by marriage and not. And of course they all have the same names🙃
missed broadcast live. interesting my husband's family have so few "best known matches" ! mixed heritage
and then of course you need to have records available to do the genealogy!

Typo on your slide - immersion, repetition, consistency

BanyanDNA will help you analyze any multiple relationships that you can diagram in their app.
What if you don’t have secon cousin or first cousins?
Start with your closest matches and colour code them into groups.
