Yeah, frosting these days is terrible.
When I was younger I use to love the frosting on deserts, including cupcakes. But when I got older I thought the stuff tasted horrible and at first I thought maybe my taste had changed. It wasn't until one holiday when someone had made cupcakes from scratch that I realized what it was. The store bought frosting is garbage. Growing up most families I knew actually made most things from scratch. The frosting that they made was also made from scratch and had real flavor, not just preservatives and sugar.
The best part of making your own frosting is you can make it however you want by adjusting the recipe as you see fit. It will have more flavor and be healthier for you than the junk sold in stores.

I agree. I hold my pencils in a 'strange' way, and all of my teachers have told me I should hold them 'the right way'. But I didn't do that, and I'm actually quite good at writing/drawing. Sure it might be an easy way to hold it if that's how you pick up the pencil in kidergarten, but there is no way teaching myself to write all over again would make anything easier.
