I am in perimenopause with fibroid tumors, I receive my period every single month but the 2nd day is EXTREMELY heavy if I had to leave the house I couldn't, the 3rd day is very heavy but it just got this bad within the last few year soon to turn 56 yrs old. I have had surgery to remove fibroids in my 30's and other procedures. Now years later no cramps just the discomfort of heavy bleeding for a few days, I can not sleep, my hair broke off so I cut it down even. On a positive note my blood work came back not deficient in anything so I don't know what to do. Decided to loose 10 pounds so fare and eat once a day and I guess wait it out.

What about tranexamic acid? Is it available over the counter? Tranexamic acid is used against heavy bleeding. If not available over the counter, then it should be available via a prescription.
