There is a great explanation video that covers all of the analogies to the Demian book but doesn't spoil the BTS lore called "Blood Sweat and Tears What does it all Mean" by the Channel "Don't worry I'm not Afraid.". They did a lot of research to make the video and its explained in a clear concise way. 💜

Til this day, BS&T is my fav mv. First because it's super sexy, our men with the soft bdsm decadent dandy's vibe is a legendary period (WINGS album) Even if I agree that some looks here are a bit aunty...Their performances or promotional outfits were kinda hot...like the infamous pink silk pyjama...or the chokers...well.
Second, this mv is full of symbolism, philosophical though and art pieces (some of the real ones are in a museum not far from my house) - there is explanation videos cuz there is a lot to say here.
Third, the choreography is HOT!

Since this is about meeting temptation. All temptations the More more more is actually apropos. The first painting depicts the war in heaven and the fall of the rebel angels. Does some of the imagery make sense now? Jungkook is front of the fall of Icarus. Both falls are the result of arrogance and pride. BTS are getting big enough now that they are surrounded by people trying to tempt them. BTS always writes about the stages of life they go through ie started with the school trilogy and the youngest 3 were still in school whist debuting. It helps understand these mvs and songs if you realise they are not shallow themes for songs they are all a progression reflecting the concerns and dangers, the joys and pain they face. Other kpop groups may use themes superficially but BTS are intelligent. Either BOOKISH THEORIES or DKDKTV are good sources if you are confused. Every image has a meaning.

Sir, you're exasperating 🤣🤣 The MV is about temptation and choosing to stay innocent and stuck or becoming an adult and accepting all that comes with that, even temptations and "sin". The concept of the album this song comes from is based off a novel called "Demian" where the main character (Jin) meets Demian (Tae) and he leads the main character thru different experiences and feelings. This all leads him (Jin) to the quandary of staying the same and rejecting all he's seen and experienced or embracing everything he's just been shown and becoming a "man".

The jarring part of the song serves a purpose and goes with the story. I believe it represents the destruction of your childhood views and the chaos you can drop into when you partake into temptation. This is one of the big themes in the underlying message.
This video is so deep and layered. Every thing has meaning including every little detail, setting, famous paintings, the organ, statues, eyes covered, the drugs, the childhood items, etc. I won’t touch on the BU, assuming you are calling that the lore, but the song is based on a book called Damien. It also ties into Carl Jung psychology and the philosophy of Nietzsche. The story of Icarus is involved and the legend of Abraxas too.
The premise is, you must acknowledge the bad as well as the good, both within yourself and the world, to become your true self or to grow up. There are temptations and like the eating of the Apple in the garden, your previous world is destroyed. Your previous view of the world is shattered and you may even drop into chaos. Your child world is like the egg you must break out of to be born. When Jin kissed the statue (Abraxas) he was excepting the temptations or acknowledging the dark side. That is why his face cracked afterwards. He was breaking free of his childhood world.
The Korean word for more sounds like money.

This song is on heavy rotation in my playlists. I love the vibe and the ideas around temptation. The visual storytelling in this one was beautiful too. It made sales for the book 'Demian' by Hermann Hesse rise enough that it made the news. It was one of those moments where the media was confused about why a boy group is influencing book sales. Even though ARMY do tend to buy the books when it's related to the music or if it's been recommended by the guys.
I'm still not sure why people were so surprised by how well BTS's 'Beyond The Story' book sold when it's actually about them and their story. Some were questioning if ARMY were even going to bother to read it or if we'd treat it like merch to put on a shelf since they didn't think we had any reason to be interested in reading it smh. This is why I like when BTS gives us these MVs that make us think. They trust us to care about the work and they don't overlook our minds.

The book Daemian is about the journey into adulthood and how you have to lose the innocence of childhood and face temptations.
In the beginning, Jin is looking at a painting called the Fall of the Rebel Angels. V represents temptation as a fallen angel.
The statute that you said, "I am leaving" 🤣to is Abraxas, the main evil in the book.
Jin's face cracking is symbolic of him entering adulthood.

This is a very lore heavy era, they made me buy the book demian this is based on and got me to read it, even though I previously had to read from that author before (herman hesse is german and our teacher lived him for some reason) and hated every single second of his writing😂
