    Stayed at Strandhill several times at the local campsite. Terrific for sunsets!

    That “just like they do it in England “ comment at 4.08 would make an Irish mammy have a heart attack . Sligo Abú🇮🇪🤝

    I feel your pain. I can’t imagine doing it on the run not knowing if you will have strong Wi-Fi. Making it happen. Have a deadline for Athens tomorrow..😊😅

    Strandhill is a great surf beach but it has really dangerous rips - there’s no lifeguard to dissuade people from swimming.

    If feel your pain-it is baffling to me that there is no surfboard rental in Strandhill (the town of my people). If you are curious to hear some more stories about Irish surfing history and the West Coast. Check Keep It A Secret documentary. No streaming on TH-cam.

    Too late for your trip, but Waterways Ireland have free overnight parking at jettys all along the river Shannon.
    You can buy a card in local shops that give you access to the shower/ toilets.

      @@MathersOnTheMap From memory, €10 card gets you 6 showers and unlimited use of the toilet.
      Most villages and towns along the waterways have good restaurants and multiple pubs.......

    I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU CAN NOT FIND A BAR IN IRELAND - Corn Flakes whiskey

    How do you like the 3 passenger front seat? Ive allways wondered how that would work in a van. Does yours swivel around?

    • @MathersOnTheMap
      @MathersOnTheMap  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It did not swivel and we aren’t really fans of it since you can just walk to the back of the van

    Portugal is better (IMHO), it’s the country many people from Ireland and the UK go for ‘holiday’ aka vacation, beach, surfing, camping and/or van-life, etc… They have Irish pubs along the southern coast where they eat, drink and ‘sing’ karaoke. Good people & Good times! Don’t forget the big waves at Nazaré, Portugal. BTW congrats! wishing you guys a safe pregnancy with a healthy baby.

    • @MathersOnTheMap
      @MathersOnTheMap  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We love Portugal!! That’s actually the first place we tested out vanlife and it was incredible! Unfortunately, Nazare was really small when we visited but we would love to go back again in the future!

    Hello, thank you very much for your videos because they make me travel. With my disability and the help I have to get, it's a little more difficult to travel, but soon it will be USA and Europe. My question is ; your orange block to charge your cell phone, is it rechargeable in the sun? if so, where did you buy it? Should I buy a cable for or only USB? Thanks.

    • @MathersOnTheMap
      @MathersOnTheMap  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jean-Marc, I’m not sure if we’re talking about the same thing but the orange block is a hard drive. We do have battery banks that is pretty reliable this is the one we use amzn.to/3TodkOB

  • @pauljones2146
    @pauljones2146 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you had problems with the battery, the company should have fixed it for you.

    • @MathersOnTheMap
      @MathersOnTheMap  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It wasn’t broken we just depleted the batteries but it eventually charged back up

    We've had 99 icecreams in England since I was a kid now I'm 77, it wasn't 99 pence then it was about sixpence or less. It started in Italy with the Royalty, they had 99 guards so that's were the 99 comes from, it's a Cadbury flake from England, then it came to Scotland 1920s and England 1930s, it was probably only a penny or less in those days. It went to Ireland much later,
