i bought this day one along with both of the offered tube upgrades - absolutely love it with the upgraded tubes, esp the power tubes with adapters cv1079 - swapped out the gain tubes for some rca red base 5691 - the stock jj el34 power tubes are not recommended - its my wfh stack daily driver supplanting the hypsoor
I ran them with my Noble Audio Viking Ragnar, a terrific pairing. You MUST run the amp on low impedance if you're using the 4.4 output. I was really impressed. I still can't get my head around a massive amp like this to drive IEMS, but if you want to go this route, this amp is excellent.
So I decided to get this amp and sold the Woo WA5 LE. Nothing horrible with the WA5 LE as it’s my all time favorite but I’ll move on and I glad the Aegis can power the Susvara and Tungsten even though my headphones are way easier to drive. On my WA5 LE the high power cathode switch is never used. I only use one DAC the Gruve 2 from Wells Audio. I still don’t like having sold the WA5le but the next I buy will be the Speaker Tap version. I’m just horny for ZMF 😂.
If you are experiencing noise with IEMs and the Aegis, you likely had the impedance set to high. The 4.4 Pentacon output is intended for use on low impedance only. I have tested this amp with the Noble Viking Ragnar, the Kinera Nanna 2.0, and the 7Hz Timeless AE. All perform well and I didn't hear any appreciable noise, in fact it's quite clean for a tube amp. This amp is amazing with the Noble, specifically in the bass, though I'm not sure of the need to have an amp the size of a small microwave to drive an iem. People on the bus will be hostile.
Old folks the capabilties of hearin hi end are diminishin' so sory if u cant hear it...ask younger people instead..sumtime old folks didnt knows their has old peoples hearin prob which is Normal...ha4. Peace!
Great review as always. Curious what Ryan sent you from Modhouse.
@1:41 that is the Aeolus, not the Atticus. The Atticus is a semi closed model, and not open backed.

The iem feature is more than what i want tbh. Looks like a cool amp.
But im leaning towards a woo wa22, LTA velo, or amp and sound Kenzie

What mods have you done with your WA-6se? If you’ve covered it in a video I can’t find it. The Aegis is great but for me the woo is more attractive.
Well…well done. ❤
Which ZMF suede pads do you recommend for Atrium Open ?
I use Caldera Suede.
BTW, the standard price is 3500 and the 3200 was just a promotional initial price

Noisey for iem bra...ha4 Peace!
No it’s not…ha4 Peace (whatever that means)
Totally bra! I have an Empire Ears Raven, King of all IEMs, and it noisy as any I've heard.
