Today we are building a couple stone towers that will work perfectly on my wargaming board! These ruined towers are definitely a must and I am excited to use it in some upcoming battle reports.
This build is perfect for tabletop games such as Frostgrave, wargaming, or other tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons!
This is a great way to get started in making some tabletop terrain for new folks and those that are experienced tabletop crafters as well.
I love that building style, but the green is a bit too striking to my taste! Still looks incredible!
Thanks Cage! Always appreciate the comments and input! 🥰
Reminds me of Gauntlet on GameCube
I think ever terrain project has a mandatory "This looks like hot garbage" step, its just part of the process!
Absolutely astounding towers, its great to see you experimenting with nontraditional shapes because it really shows the rewards creativity can bring! As for future ideas, one thing I always wanted to build for frostgrave but have never had the bravery to start is some kind of floating or elevated octahedron or nonahedron shaped wizard tower. I think those shapes are something that evoke the kind of esoteric madness wizard architects might delve into. Maybe something like that would work for you? please feel free to steal it!
A intricate and imposing "wizard's tower" has been on the list for a long while now. Really liking these ideas! Thanks 🥰🥰🥰
The green is absolutely sick.
All your builds since your return from hiatus a while back have been awesome. You manage to still keep the spirit of your older videos while improving on ideas that many might consider to have run their course.
I have fallen in and out of interest in the tabletop hobby as a whole over the years, but have steadily watched most of this channel despite that. This is one of those channels that give me the itch to create something new after a long time away. Thanks for sharing your creations!
Thank you Trash Cabbage. I appreciate you saying all of this. It means more than you know. ☺️
I love the way your stonework builds come together when you add the spackle mortar.
Thank you! I've done the spackle step numerous times at this point in my crafting journey, and it still makes me nervous... 😅
It's always really interesting and a great inspiration to see how you use cardboard as a substructure. Personally, I usually use either XPS foam or foam cardboard in such cases ... But that's actually the best thing about crafting: Most materials can be used in a huge variety of ways, so it's always worth thinking outside the box :)
So thank you for your tutorial and your "other" ways of crafting!
Love this! And, thank you for your awesome content as well! 🤩🥰
Gorgeous build. You’re not afraid to go bold with design and color and it makes a world of difference. Killer stuff!
Thank you! Trying out weird colors and ideas is what makes the hobby so much fun!
Great stuff! I think a hodgpodge of building types give the feel of a cosmopolitan cityscape, So it really depends on how you see your cities and ruins.
Thanks as always Ryan! 🥰
Green? Dude, not the green!
LOL. Just kidding. Looks great. It would look even better if it was surrounded by jungle trees and other foliage (now, there’s an idea for you!).
I’m really enjoying your channel tonight, every episode so far, plus I just had back surgery and my wife won’t help me look for the remote. :)
love the triangle based build style! thats something i’d love to experiment with myself!
Please do! And thank you!
It already looked amazing….now I am left speechless. Freakishly well done.
Thank you so much 😀
The different coloration and building style may represent a number of interesting things, even if on the same board as the more traditional pieces.
1) Wild magic warped existing structures
2) The green ruins represent the structures from an entirely different culture, that held different values (ex: elves or merfolk)
3) The divergent colored stone was quarried from a different place as the local stone, perhaps for its magic insulating properties (the triangular shapes also have arcane significance), as befits a city built by and for wizards
4) Planar anomalies ripped structures from other dimensions and deposited them there; perhaps bringing all manner of native flora and fauna from that plane into this one, that might still be lurking about
Love all of these thoughts! 🥰 I appreciate your insights!
Dude, what is this camera work? I wish all hobby videos were presented like this! Superb work on the terrain too!
Hahaha! Thanks Nortic! I'd say it's more the camera doing the work, rather than myself. 😅
Wow, great result. At first I found the shape odd, but the result looks great
Hahaha! I thought the same thing! Glad it worked out. 🤓
Nice little build. The shape is nice and the color is a nice change of pace.
I think so too! Thank you! 🤓
I really like the asymmetrical look of the diamond tower's second floor! Not 100% sold on the color though, it looks great in isolation but the yellow-green vs red-brown contrast is a lot.
Appreciate the comment Keggers! Not every creation is going to be perfection… 😅
I love the green, the diamond tower is awesome too. Great video 👍
Thanks as always 😁
You might want to consider swapping from the army painter washes to acrylic inks, they work rather well as a wash option while being a LOT cheaper, and if unthinned, you can use them for easy painting with the airbrush
Not a bad idea! Thanks for the insight!
I like the green. Reminds me of Castle Grayskull. Maybe try arranging it in an octagonal manner instead of around a triangle?
I've been craving a Dice Chatter episode and man did you deliver above and beyond (gettit?!) but for real - such a great build, such a well produced and relaxing video, and what a wondrous guy!
Hahaha! Thanks, Robbie! Always enjoy reading your comments!
Watching always gives me motivation to get back to building.
I'm not gonna stop ya! 😂
looks good ^^ the table is getting more and more interesting pieces
Thank you, thank you!!!
Awesome build as always! Your brickwork is superb!!! Love the bold color choices 😊😊😊
Thanks so much! 😊
@@DiceChatter you are very welcome
Sweet builds! I really like the diamond pattern on the one.
Thanks a bunch manjr!!! 😬
Another great build well done Donny! 😊👍 Hope to see more batreps soon.
Thanks! Next video I am working on is a bat rep! Soon!
@@DiceChatter awesome! 😀
Love seeing you continue to experiment with these. This tower is sick
Thanks, Robby!
that color scheme... all i could think of was.... BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL!!! another banger dude!!
Thank you! Maybe a different color scheme for the next build?
@@DiceChatter well.... depends on if you want a set of these or not... like what you did with your ruins. I actually really dig this coloring.... im going to replicate it when i get around to my Castle Greyskull build. But back to what you were asking, if you do another ruined structure a different color should signify a complete different building.
Well if you are looking for ideas I got one. How about making scatter terrain in the same sweet color?
Like is the bits and pieces that fell of the towers and then were used for make shift barricades and stuff.
Ahhh yes! I need more scatter terrain on the table! A very good idea!
Great looking terrain!
Thanks 👍 Appreciate the comment!
Gorgeous build, nicely done!
Thank you very much!
A truly beautiful board! Would love to see some Warcry on it!
Maybe one day!
The only channel where I first push the like button and then watch the vid.
Desperately waiting for a new Frostgrave bat rep. 😊
Hopefully the next vid will be a Frostgrave bat rep! 🧙♂️☃️
Always great to see you upload!
And always great to see your comments!
Always appreciate the video, I love the new build.
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks, Erik!
More! more! More!
Will do Don!
Bro go the other way, octagonal towers (fits the theme on your board) and domes on top (new challenge) as a centerpiece building
Great idea! 😃 Thanks for the input!
Very NIce
Thank you!!!
Flame barricade!!!
I'm very interested in the spackle design that you use, does the spackle crack or chip over time or does it stay in place after it dries?
So far, the spackle has done quite well. I guess if I see any issues as time passes, I can always fill it right back up with some spackle!
@@DiceChatter Thank you so much for the reply!
What are you using to do your template plz ?
If you mean the program, Adobe Illustrator. Though I will say, it's quite overkill for putting a few rectangles and circles together! 😂
Looks awesome! I'll take six!
I’ll have your order on standby Dave. You can expect the towers in 6 months… 😅
