Band maid really knows how to put on a good live show John these ladies sound really good
Now you understand why Jimmy Page after watching Akane's drumming said that she was one of the best drummers that he's ever heard and that she reminded him of John Bonham. Saiki reminds me of Alanis Morissette in her ability to change her vocal styles. As always Michael Myers and Jimmy Page agree that Band-Maid is an awesome band!!
It's gentle compared Saiki with Alanis Morisette but Saiki is better than her. I'm Canadian and I'm Japanese, sorry for my compatriot! 😉
No other song builds like this...starts light and easy and majestic from the Gorilla's spot onwards!! Oh BTW...if you don't love Thrill...double the volume and repeat :-)
As many have stated, it’s Ah-khan-eh, Japanese doesn’t do silent E sounds. As for remembering Miku, when I first got into Band Maid I found it easiest to just remember she’s the Pigeon, Band Maid fans will all know who you mean. (It’s like a Japanese pun on her last name, it’s a whole thing for her) I’m sure you’ve seen Pigeon comments in the past, that’s what it’s about.
I’m sure there will be Jimmy Page stories with this video, the facts of that are: he saw Akane play, he wanted to take a photo with her and she thought people were pranking her when they told her. The pic is out there, he gave her some encouraging words, she has not said what they were. That story has exploded to mythic proportions in comments of TH-cam videos.
I’m rooting for No God or Blooming next!
John, I agree with your point that Akane's drum action was a feature, not a solo. The thing about that feature is that Akane and the band never missed a beat. A different song I have really grown to like is "Wonderland". Kanami's work is amazing and Saiki's vocals are outstanding.
I love Band-Maid. I plan on going to their concert in Houston if all goes well. (Fingers crossed!) 😁

I know nothing about these ladies whatsoever.
She's known as Mika Noguchi (Noguchi Mika) when she was in an idol trio Lil' Cumin prior to BAND MAID, many years ago.

Try some other great Japanese metalband called "Galneryus", the song "Angel Of Salvation"is great, especially the live version.
I did a Galneryus video a few months ago and nobody watched it.

So what is a drum solo in your mind then? I'm a little confused about your comment. Are the guitar solos then also no solos? If you're referring to the lenght, why should a drum solo be longer than a guitar solo.
Except from this, I agree totally to your comments. I watched also bands where you could see that they are bored on stage, it was terrible and I left the concert.
The happiness of Band-Maid on stage makes them adorable and I always love to see them playing.
There is only Nemophila where I have the same impression, especially between Hara-san ( bass ) and Tamu ( drums ). Sometimes you can see that they try to stay serious, but it costs them much effort. Maybe I'm wrong and there are more bands, but not at the level of the Maids.
In my eyes/opinion, drum solos aren't in the middle of a song. This is my opinion, my opinion is not law.
