Agree with your overall assessment of the Baha Mar - very nice resort, but we prefer the all-inclusives as well. Rooms at the Baha Mar were small for a family of four and the lack of a mini-fridge was frustrating. We did not buy food or liquor at the store, but did bring coffee K-cups from home and made our own coffee using the Keurig in the room, which saved a ton of money and time. Food was good, but not great, and was ridiculously expensive. It was also quite painful paying $20-$25 for each beer. In my opinion, the #1 reason for a family, particularly with tweens or teens, to go to the Baha Mar is the water park. Absolutely fantastic and we haven't been able to find anything in the Caribbean or Cancun that comes close. We're going to the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana this summer, which does have a water park, and we're hopeful that it'll be at least in the same ballpark. Would love to see you review the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana before the summer!
Love this! I wish we were going there before summer! But you will love the Hyatt I think. The food in DR is always a little subpar than Mexico but I’ve heard it’s a great experience
We love BahaMar. We’ve stayed twice so far and will go again this summer. The SLS is not adult only, just their pool is. The Fortune pool you showed also isn’t adult only. I would’ve eaten at Marcus or Katsuya over Filia. We usually go to the Pizza Lab on the first night we’re there since you can usually get a table without reservation. I’d say give it another try!! :)
It was a nice resort, but the food and drinks were extremely expensive. Not to mention how the food wasn’t the greatest at times. Went to Cafe Madeline there and paid $42 USD for 2 ice coffees and a plate of pre packed sushi. Wifi sucked too.
We just got back from a cruise and went to the water park as a day pass. It’s beautiful, but if you have any kids under 48” tall you might want to wait. My daughter was too short and was upset that she missed some things that she might have been able to do at great wolf lodge
Stopped here for the day during our cruise, the waterpark was worth it, but man expensive doesn’t even begin to describe what you will spend here. I would never stay there after seeing the prices for stuff. But it is a beautiful place.
It is a nice resort. We like it better than Atlantis. But, it pricey is probably a understatement - when we were there in August 2021 (2 adults + 2 older teenage kids), a very basic room was (with taxes and fees (which adds about 50% to the nightly rate) with two queen beds was $5,100 for 7 nights, and cheap compared to the cost of food and drinks (easily $100 pp for dinner (steak dinner for four was $670), $50/pp for lunch and $30/pp for breakfast; and the food was fair to good - not spectacular. Drinks were spendy too - soda $4, beer $10-13, wine $14-20, no-name cocktails $15-20. For the week we spend over $13,000 (plus air fare). We had a far better time as a family in August 2022 at Beaches Turks & Caicos (all inclusive, including snorkeling and scuba diving), and in a much nicer room (king bed in separate bedroom plus 2 twin beds), for 7 nights the total was $11,000 (plus air fare).
Awesome review!! Baha Mar is a cool place, but we just love the all inclusives , indeed they take the pain away just by charging you for everything upfront😅
I guess it depends on the weather! And honestly I would pay for my own transportation even because it was annoying lol. It may be cheaper because this trip is going to Rose Island and not Exuma. It’s a much shorter day
Fyi - it's Sept 2024 and I recently inquired about renting a mini fridge and was told they have done away with the mini bars and now ONLY have mini fridges in the rooms.
I just spoke with a someone at the Grand Hyatt on Dec 26th 2024 & was told we could rent a fridge for a one time fee of 65.00 for the week we will be there in May of 2025. You can’t reserve ahead of time but assured me they do not run out.
Stayed here in November last year. Dropped $10k on food, drinks, and cabanas for 5 days. The food and drinks are expensive. The pools are nice, for lunch the optioms got old quick. I agree the food is way overpriced for what you get, bland. Rosewood is and was overrated. The wifi was also terrible worked when it wanted to, unacceptable.
Baha Mar is awesome, So much missed in this video...Every pool is awesome, depending if you want to relax, hang out or hear music from SLS and all within literally a minute apart including Rosewood & Nexus pool overlooking the ocean. Food options range from budget to fine dining. yeah all inclusive food & drinks are included, 95% of the time the food & drinks are trash whether staying at luxury or budget friendly, lets be honest, those sugary bottom well drinks will leave you with a hangover on vacation. The only difference is you pay for it up front. If you are not going to Exuma to swim with the pigs...you are doing yourself a disservice. Honestly cant wait to go back

I didn’t say I wouldn’t go back!! Just prefer all inclusive! But thanks for the tips. We didn’t find Marcus until our last day 🥹

Right???? Crazy
Would love to see video of the waterpark. Thank you for this video, great info.
Okay! It probably will be next month!

@heathern7174 awww that’s the worse!!!
I've always wanted to try the Bahamas, but I'm too cheap. Hence, going back to Cancun 2x in 2024.
Exactly lol!!!!!
Great videos. We almost pulled the trigger and booked at the Grand Hyatt…figured for the price we would give Turk Caicos a try instead.
Yes!!! Ty for watching
Bahamas beaches are beautiful ❤
Very true!!

It’s pretty crazy lol but beautiful as you said

@joeperrone6677 wow!! Pricey is right!!

Yes!!!!
Quick question about your excursion with the pigs. Do they pick up at the resort?
Yes! And they stop at the Atlantis too. And squeeze you in 🤣
@ it’s so much cheaper than booking through the resort! Do you recommend a certain time?
I guess it depends on the weather! And honestly I would pay for my own transportation even because it was annoying lol. It may be cheaper because this trip is going to Rose Island and not Exuma. It’s a much shorter day

You mentioned about renting the fridge for the room. Do we have to contact the hotel in advance for that?
I believe you do!
The daq shaq is so legit! Our Pirate Jeep tour guide Captain Krunch took us here and it was probably the best drink I had on the whole vacation.
Definitely!!!

Insane!!!
For the transfer service, how did you arrange a stop to the liquor store ahead of time?
I notified via email or WhatsApp. It depends on how they communicate with you!

How was water temperature in pools and water park in December?
It was cool. I don’t remember it being heated but don’t quote me on it.
Can you provide the link to your cover up? Thanks
Sure! The crochet one?? hapari.com/?rfsn=7227602.098279
Was the gym an extra charge?
It was not! It’s part of the resort fee
What grocery store and liquor store??
We went to Super Value and then the liquor store next to it
