A fact about the snake scene: The famous scene where Indy has to confront his biggest fear in The Well Of Souls, thousands of hissing, snakes, was a logistical nightmare to arrange. Originally, Spielberg had the idea of using mechanical snakes, but it was decided that they looked too fake, so Spielberg opted for real snakes instead. They ended up using SEVEN THOUSAND live creatures. They started with up to 2,000 snakes and they barely covered the set for a wide shot, so they got way more live creatures to fill it all in. Using legless lizards (what the majority were; they're lizards because they have eyelids, earholes, and can drop their tail), boa constrictors, and pythons. Most were non-venomous, though there were some cobras. A crew member was only bitten on-set by a python.
This set is officially $39.99 and is also the best priced LEGO set of the decade. 🤯 I thought it was $80 because if you scanned the sets barcode at Target it would say $79.99.
If this is $80, then it will be a VERY hard no for me. Just moments before I watched this review, I watched a different one that said will be $40. I sure hope it's $40.
@MandRproductions The reason Sallah doesn't have leg printing is because this version of Sallah is supposed to be wearing a Galabeya which is a traditional long ankle length gown worn by men in Egypt. I'm sure for the sake of play-ability, LEGO decided not to use the dress piece for legs for Sallah and just went with minifig legs instead for a simplistic approach.
I think the skull on the sticker with Gali's mask is supposed to be an exo-force robot skull, it's very reminiscent of the design on some of the 2x2 tiles from those OG exo-force sets
Was just headed down here to comment this!! You’re 100% right! It’s super clear if you look up the box art for 7702. Love that Lego is showing exoforce some love!
I remember getting the original set as a kid, so many things from my childhood including Indiana Jones are coming back, and it's so nice to see. Will definitely be getting this.
I believe the reason why the pillar is two different tile pieces is because it makes the pillar look old and cracked, I understand it looking silly without that frame of reference but with that in mind I think it looks really cool and is a good bit of detail
Snakes are elongated, limbless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes. Like all other squamates, snakes are ectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlapping scales. Many species of snakes have skulls with several more joints than their lizard ancestors, enabling them to swallow prey much larger than their heads. Living snakes are found on every continent except Antarctica. Around thirty families are currently recognized, comprising about 520 genera and about 3,900 species. They range in size from the tiny, 10.4 cm-long (4.1 inches) Barbados threadsnake (found on Barbados and Anguilla) to the reticulated python (found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia) of 6.95 meters (22.8 ft) in length
That is what happens when the FANBASE gets wider: the prices increase. It is the BASICS of "Supply and Demand." Don't get me wrong, I still think it sucks.
I’ve had enough LEGO sets in 20 years to know this is “worth” and will cost more than $39.99. I am an expert in the field. 1. 600 parts. 2. Those 600 parts aren’t DOTS, they’re generally large bricks and such. 3. 4 Minifigs, while not 100% indicative LEGO usually tiers the number of figs in sets. 4. The eye test. It ain’t $40
I know it’s nostalgia, but I prefer the original set. I also like the Skeleton over the mummy, since that was my only skeleton as a kid. But I’ll still probably get this one, it does look nice af.
Ravenwood. Marion Ravenwood. You get on LEGO pretty hard when they are inaccurate so I can’t let ‘Redwood’ go by. Glad you are doing Indy in addition to Star Wars. Congrats on the new house.
The fact that they put the time to add a satchel to the Indiana Jones character is great but of course it’s to much work to add a satchel to are clone troopers
I thought what you saw as a reference to space police was actually a head of the Exo force robot. If that is the case, it would truly be an ancient reference.
I reeaaaally hope we get new Indiana Jones figures based on the opening and end scenes of temple of doom! That so the tuxedo and the ripped shirt, both solid looks!
I love the fact it has a fall function. Definitely picking this up and the fighter plane. Both will be my first Indiana Jones sets. I'm definitely getting some to have as a sealed set too. Hopefully though this will be 40. A lot harder to justify if it's 80
I think the stickers also show a Sankara stone and the one on the top shows the Crystal Skull. Great review man! I hope it's just a little cheaper but only because I'm getting all of the sets LOL
Sucks the temple of doom set was canceled. Lego had no issues making it before. As a kid it was my favorite of the trilogy. The heart melting scene was awesome.
Why cant we get this good of a set in Star Wars for $40. Its freaking ridiculous That we get a 4 + set for $40 . Amazing set tho, watching review while building.
wow! i love the new setup! but one thing i cant help but ask is Do you havr a nre camera and a new microphone? or is it just the lighting paired with the table
Definitely gonna do some modifications and use this as a display on the movie shelf. Doing away with some of the play set indicators and finding some substitute snakes to add to fill it out more! Cool set and not too bad at $40
For me as a kid, some of the best legos ever were the Johnny Thunder theme sets. Now today as a 36 year old I am a history teacher. The Indiana jones legos kind of fill the void for me after they stopped making Johnny thunder legos.
maybe the grey snake holders can be replaced with beige ones ? I also would like a piece to put at the end of the lever to make it look like a lever. now it looks like i missed building it correctly. :D
YESSSSSS R2 AND 3PO!!! I was nervous they weren’t gonna do it cuz you know…Lego…but they did and I couldn’t be happier. Once again, great review another one I’ll have to get at some point
Ooooh I remember this scene... This scene was really great! I will most likely pick this up, because of figures and the scene. Thank you for the video!
It is crazy that there are people who literally have their hands on this set, and yet Lego still havent even put this on their site yet. Honestly it's embarrassing for Lego

Also the scene was shot in London and at the end of shooting not all the snakes were accounted for. Now that is why England has snakes in the country.
In one scene you can even make out the glass partition between Indy & the snakes with venom spat on it. Presumably from the snakes not Harrison Ford.
Except when watching the scene I can see fake snakes
Thank god he was only bitten, I was worried he would have been kicked by a legless lizard
@@spencerbelcher9688 easy, most were alive, some were fake :)
Can't believe we're getting new Indiana sets after all these years
I know I’m so happy!
This set is officially $39.99 and is also the best priced LEGO set of the decade. 🤯
I thought it was $80 because if you scanned the sets barcode at Target it would say $79.99.
I find it crazy how you've managed to get the set before you even know the retail price of it
If this is $80, then it will be a VERY hard no for me. Just moments before I watched this review, I watched a different one that said will be $40. I sure hope it's $40.
@@RadSalacan it’s $40. Different sites have it up for that already
It wouldn’t even surprise me if that was the price point
LEGOs pricing sucks now
I thought it was $50. If it’s $80 no way.

I thought the same thing!
It isn't, easiest way to tell is the 2 lines above the "goggles" on the hieroglyphs match up with the gali mask and not with the exoforce.

I'm like 99% sure that space police reference is actually an exo-force reference 8:49
Love the new format of the review still keeping the personality you normally have but more professional
And 4K!
This sets build is really good, I love the c3-po and r2-d2 stickers, but the $80 price is just ridiculous.
I hate saying this bc I'll get "u broke" replies but, Lego is becoming overly expensive in EVERY aspect. It's honestly getting ridiculous.
It’s $40!!!
That is what happens when the FANBASE gets wider: the prices increase.

@@ExpertAssass1n this
For those curious now that the official price has been revealed, this set is retailing for $40!
Love all the hidden Easter Eggs in this set, like the R2 and C-3PO and the Bionicle mask
The 80 dollar price point seems to be a mistake as it has been listed elsewhere as still being 40
I love the little starwars reference of C-3PO and R2-D2.
The original was my first ever LEGO set, and the fact that this is coming back makes me feel like that 5 year old me in 2008.
I think the skull is actually a reference to Exo-Force. It looks like the robots heads
Really awesome review Ryan! The camerawork and the editing was great!
I like that they used the old 'scary mini swings down from the ceiling' trick, it takes me back to playing with set 6036 as a kid :)
Based off of Just2Good’s review of this set, he seems to think that it will cost $40 in the US
There’s just no way unfortunately

with a well known IP like Indiana Jones it would be lucky to be $60.
Ah yes, Marion Redwood. My favorite Indiana Smith character
Marion redwood is my fav

Great set, great review! It baffles me that some people only saw these movies for the first time just recently, what is wrong with them?! 🤣
Yeah who even are those people? Couldn’t be me.
probably younger generation
@@MandRproductions Now I'd like to disagree with this
Um, didnt these movies come out like 30 years ago?
They're pretty old movies bro give the younger gen a break lol. The first movie is 42 years old
I’ve always loved the Indiana jones series and hope to see more sets based on it
0:50 love how MandR does a full detailed review on a 15 year old piece as if it’s a new mold 😋
I knew it was the same as the old one. It’s on the box of the other set: I just felt like it’s worth saying because not everyone had 2008 Indy sets.
I am disappointed that LEGO did not use the molded sarcophagus pieces from Egypt sets of the past and opted for stickers instead.
Really cool set. This is the size of set i'd love to see for the LOTR sets. Under 100, interesting set, decent display look. Make it happen LEGO
The cameo of R2-D2 and C-3PO! Yep, I´m buying this!
Ngl im gonna miss the background filled with lego sets on the shelves it was a amazing display
5:35 “because… kids are dumb” 😂
anyways, great review!
i love how this indiana jones has gloves on which he rarely does so its very accurate
I love your wooden table, I think this looks nicer than your old white table. Keep up the great videos and reviews.
Good on Lego for going the extra mile to add INDIANA Jones tie to the print on the fighter plane set too

So hype for all the indie sets
I could be wrong but I'm fairly sure that the space police nod is actually an exo force nod
How did you get the set?
How do you get these sets early?
I’m glad you get to review these sets before the LAN members for once.
THE QUALITY IS SO MASSIVELY IMPROVED AND THE LACK OF THE SPINNY MINIFIGURE STAND IS NOT EVEN A ISSUE BECAUSE THE WOODEN TABLE LOOKS SICK
Is the Wall and the statue in perfect Hight? So we can build a roof
On one of the pillars are R2-D2 and C-3P0
really? NO WAYYY, HE ACTUALLY MEANT IT IN THE VIDEO
Kids that are super into Lego won't neccesarily miss those nods to older Lego Themes. Or maybe I just had a strange childhood.

So happy to see one of my favourite Lego series coming back!
Dude, I remember wanting the original when I was kid! This blows my mind!
These released early where I live and I bought a few, and the price tag is in fact $40. Not sure if it will stay that way but that’s what I paid.

8:50 may be space police, more likely exo-force drone
Please dear God let it be closer to $40 than $80. It's more than worth $40, but $80... ooooof
the skull on the wall is the robots logo from exo force

ive had this set on display for like 4 months and im just now finding out about c3po and r2d2 i cant believe it
It's been 15 years since I had the old original set. Time flys man.
It would be fun if they did a set of barnett college
I have the old set and looking at this, I like it even more. Only need the Sallah figure. For the ark, they didn't do a 2*4 gold brick...
Is that a Jawa as well on the sticker on the bottom right corner?
If it's $80...oh my, Lego is getting stupidly expensive.
