Props to whoever made this. Mark Aguirre is a westside legend. Chitown's finest. And Mexican-American on his daddy-side, don't forget that.

Back in the day I was a big fan of Mark Aguirre because of his all around great game. He was like a combo of Adrian Dantly and the "Iceman" Gervin because he could post up like a boss at only 6'6" yet also had a sweet outside game with a soft touch. He'd get the ball on the low block then go up quick with a nice kiss off glass, take a quick turnaround jumper, or lay in that smooth finger roll. On the break he could finish above the rim in the defenders face of dish to a cutting teammate. The dude was bad. 💪

One of the most underrated moves Jack mccloskey made for the 88-89 bad boys.. Dantley was more concerned with getting his than winning. Mark gave up a lot of shots when he came to the D but he was a Godsend and the Pistons went 44-6 with him in the lineup and the rest is history

Mark is the most underrated player of the Dallas Mavericks . But is the best player the mavs drafted and. He's not in the NBA hall of fame. But was a NBA champion 3 time All-Star

@@Myman989 wow. That might be the worst draft day trade ever. I remember Tractor...who really thought that body would hold up?

I believe that the dirk trade was planned before the draft pick was made so for all intents and purposes it’s the Mavs pick. Same thing with Luka

You must all know this about me, to understand where, when and how I grew up, and why I think the way I do about things: Born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. A stiff, who didn't have cable TV until college. Therefore, I was limited to seeing Sonics and national TV games. I did NOT know, until seeing highlights like this, that Mark Aguirre could dunk! I knew he was a very good shooter and post up player.

Fools just don't understand how great Aguirre was prior to coming to Detroit.
He was unstoppable on the block, he used to handle the ball all 94 feet like a guard, could take you from the paint to the 3 point line and he used to dunk with the best of them
That's why I laugh when I hear fools say Dantley was better because AD wasn't in his class as a talent.

  • @JT-jn4mf

Underrated... He was a beast off the dribble..to the hoop or pulling up... Not too many better. Gervin, Dantley, Bernard King.... King Michael of course!

Ah, a sweet mixtape of the Muffin Man! Easily of the greatest b-ballers of the 1980s. Mark could & did do it all as he was just unstoppable on offense. Those Mavs teams were always tough dealings for any team in the league-especially the Lakers. He played so much bigger than his actual size & his deceptive speed was too much for when the post giants tried to body him. And man, the variety of way he could get his shot off......watching this mixtape I was making the same faces as back then watching him on tv. This mixtape perfectly captures a lot of what made him such a great player.
But something else that separates him is what I recall his Chi-town homeboy Zeke saying about him upon arriving in Detroit after a Hall of Fame run with Dallas. He saw that on this new team, he wasn't required to score 30 points every night( like Isiah dialed down his offensive game from the early 80s to fit this new Pistons team as well) and made the decision to split playing time with the up & coming Dennis Rodman- which changed up that whole Bad Boys team. Mr. Aguirre is every bit a Hall of Fame player in my opinion & more importantly any of the greats who competed nightly against him. And for his unselfish team play in the later part of his career- winning back to back championships in the Motor City.

1983-84 he averaged 30 ppg, 6 rpg, 5 apg on 52% shooting for the Mavs. A stone cold killer of a scorer

I had a classmate in high school, whose last name is Aguirre. Wrongly, I called him "Ah-GWIRE," like Mark Aguirre. My classmate was cool about it. I learned my first year in COLLEGE, that it's really pronounced "Ah-GEAR-ay."

Mark Aguirre is half mexican, that's where he gets the name from and it is pronounced ah-gear-ay. I'm sure he knows how to say his name. He was almost going to play for the Mexican national team. Too bad he didn't. In Chicago they've always used ah-gwire, including Mark himself.

Based on the players in the Hall, Sampson, White, McGrady, Mullin, Ming, why is Aguirre not in?? Could and did score from anywhere. 5 players play D, but only one can score, only one ball. Blackman and Harper, Perkins, couldn't score close to what he could do.

the 88 mavs were more elite than the 91 pistons weren't as elite as the 89 and 90 pistons

    • @123slasher.16
      @123slasher.16 หลายเดือนก่อน

That's because the 1991 Pistons played 35 games without their best player.
Prior to his injury, Isiah Thomas had Detroit with the 3rd best record trailing only Boston and Portland.
Poor example you used because 1988 Dallas didn't lose Aguirre for 35 games.
