Random sidenote - just looking at Tati and James makes me feel so warm and happy inside. You can tell they're absolutely head over heels in love and truly care for one and other - the type of love everyone wishes they would get to experience once in a lifetime.

Can everyone please chill with the 'your foundation is too orange' comments? She said that her face is paler cuz she self tans.. As a MUA, you match your foundation to your chest so that the color of your face matches the rest of your body..

at 10:06 you can see where her face makeup ends because its the wrong undertone for her skin, that has nothing to do with the darkness of the shade, a MUA knows that too, also you rarely have to go that much darker if you use bronzer and contour as they deepen the way your foundation look. your neck and your face should match, or you look like you're wearing a mask.

I usually match my foundation to my neck; my face is white and my neck is tan. Before I knew better (in my teens --I am 31 now), I used to match it to my face. It was bizarre looking lol
Yea, I noticed that, too. Also I can see around her hairline where her natural skin is. I just can't stand face makeup for that very reason. To me, it's just like a mask..(a mud mask. lol) .ie...it's just so noticeable when there are 4 or 5 different layers. I can't help it but I cringe when I watch beautiful young women putting layer after layer over their beautiful SKIN. Can't help it, but that's just the way I feel about that! ;)
+vegasjill21 That's for people who don't know how to apply foundation. Your foundation should naturally blend into your hairline. People who don't blend in it in a way are usually just inexperienced and 90% of the time also have cake face.
So many comments about her not matching foundation to her face. You should ALWAYS match your NECK not face. Some can have yellow undertones in their body but pink undertones in your face, matching face would look very odd. Also some tan their bodies but not face so matching face and not neck again very odd. Always match neck and not face and guarantee you always look fabulous!!!!
What if my arms and legs are a darker color than my body and neck? Do I still match it to my neck?

+lizzy gotstyle YES!! You're face will match your neck so you'll look gorgeous. Lots of gals just have their legs and arms tan in summer even if just from driving in car or walking around. You won't look odd at all.
It looks a lot more natural when you match to your face. It looks a lot more glam when you match to your chest.

an interesting idea for a video could be comparing spf vs non spf face products and seeing the difference on how they apply, last on the skin, appear in photos, etc. and comparing amongst different drugstore and highend brands - just a suggestion xo

I love my color me applicator been using it for the last few months. At first I thought it was a gimmick, but it makes my foundation last longer, less used, and totally a smooth application.

In many cases, foundation should match your neck. You wouldn't want a pale face with a dark neck.

She's trying to match the rest of her body. I know I personally have a more yellow tone to my body, and a pinker tone to my face. To balance that, I use more yellow based foundations.
Yes you match your foundation to your neck/chest. You do not match it to your face. If you did that you would have to blend foundation or powder all the way down your neck & chest (if exposed) so it would match. This way you only have to apply it to your face & down the neck a bit for it to match.

Why do you use a more orange toned foundation ?
I think it's cause she uses self tanner so she wants her face to match her body's skin tone.
she self tans so if she used her skin tone shade her face wouldnt match her body and look off
She probably uses sunscreen everyday just on her face. You can see that her face is much ligher than her neck. I think that the foundation she is using maches perfectly with the rest of her body.
+Yasmin It's not that orange as it may appear. The lights change the colour sometimes. If you see her in her kitchen or at the end of her workout it's not orange.

I've been seeing this so much lately, and I'm watching loads of makeup tutorial vids trying to learn how to apply makeup well, and what shades look great, etc. I did actually read that it was the reason another TH-camr was choosing a darker color foundation than what actually matched her face.
