First there was Robert Johnson, then Muddy, then Elmore James and so on but Johnny Winter and Eric Sardines are the dream team of slide guitar. RIP Johnny.

Johnny...I've seen you 6 times and loved every minute. You were the best! YOU knew how to rock...and YOU knew how to play the best blues. Nobody was/is better! We will miss you. You were absolutely incredible! I never heard you make a mistake. Every time I saw you...after the show...I said to myself..."Wow...how can a guitar player be that good?"...you were unbelievable...absolutely unbelievable." You showed the world how blues is supposed to be played. Many future blues guitarists will get their inspiration from you. "You are truly "THE"... "blues God!" Thank you...and you are well loved! Show them how to play in heaven!
I had the pleasure of seeing Johmny when he was Rick Derringer at The Albert Hall, shows how long ago that was....did jumping jack flash and we damn near jumped of the balcony with delight.......sure was one of the greats.......Read a quote the other day....apparantly Jimi Hendrix was asked how it feels to be the greatest guitar player...he said I'll ask Johnny next time i see him.....dont know if its true but eitherw ay it shows just how great they both were....As you all say RIP
