Interesting to see the initial misdirection to hit hard. I have read the light novel. It is quite well written I think. Interestingly: the anime hair colours are actually real in universe. This is an alternative Earth scenario, where humans look slightly different from what we are.
Oh. This show is really heavy. I felt like having watched a movie rather than an anime when I finished watching all 23 episodes. And the emotions stick.
It’s not your fault for not knowing because they don’t consider them as humans so when they call them dolls, of course you would think robots but after you realized it’s just like you said disgusting 🤦🏻♂️💯 I love how they show some of the same scenes but from different points of view. The title of this anime originates from the period of Segregation in the United States. Have you ever heard the expression “we 86’d that idea”? The history of that expression came from early 1900s where black people weren’t allowed in white only establishment 86 means “not allowed service”. 86 is also the origin of “nix”.
As you say at the end, "they are teenagers, they are kids", because the majority of the older 86 are dead after being used as cannon fodder to wear out The Legion until its operating time is up.
You should react to Girls Band Cry and Jellyfish can't swim at night. Both will 100% give you that Bocchi the rock energy of a buncha girls making music
Uh oh... buckle your ass sister.. you're in for some seriously dark and emotional pain.. without spoilers, let's just say this will most certainly make you ugly cry at some points. This show is full of feels and real grim dark plot points...
Suddenly alot people are checking out Eighty Six for some reasons? Although its a great show but knowing how you react to stuff this show gonna be a tough watch for you but do enojoy the journey until you cry out another ocean this time.
I mean I’m not sure about any one else but the racism in the anime being the most disgusting thing you’ve seen in anime? I mean for example we have that one scene in demon slayer with the weird fish guy muichiro was fighting turning the sword imbedded into like 5 different people and them all spewing blood so I mean the racism is bad but it being the worst no.
I still remember the visceral disgust I felt about the poor kids being used like this 🥲

Yeah, this shit is dark. And a pretty good reimagining of actual historical events in a fictional setting (which just makes it darker tbh)
