For me,86 is the most perfected anime i've ever seen. You simply can't criticize anything about it.The art,the OST and ED by SawaGOAT, storytelling,the emotional scenes,the lessons through it,even the comedy and fan service...all fit perfectly.I belive those complaining that this is boring doesn't want to use their brain cells to understand this masterpiece.
The only valid criticism I've seen is that the exposition of the themes on the classroom scene, back in ep2, was VERY heavy handed... And it's a big thing, because a good amount of people might've dropped it before they got to the "good shit" on ep 4 and onwards. Very similar criticism people give steins gate actually, and both are some of my favourite animes lol
People that call shows like this boring, are people that only want to watch surface level stuff. Same with Re: Zero, people call that one boring because they don't want to indulge into the story but rather, watch crazy action stuff that grabs your attention.

Ngl, when i binged the first 12 episodes, i felt like it's not the same as people describe or Masterpiece or underrated as they said. But god thankfully i give it a one last chance. The rest from ep.13 to the finale is the true masterpiece.
@@JayceCH. I liked both parts but part 1 really felt like a prologue, and explored the basic themes you would've expected in a war drama like 86. The second part is really what made 86 special in its own right, exploring Shin's mind and the effects of war on children. The 2 were necessary for the plot, but part 2 has more interesting themes imo. Besides that, the direction and music were fantastic in part 1 and 2.
86 is the most underrated anime i have watched its in my best anime list of all time so yeah i want to rewatch it through your reaction , it will be good if u complete this series

The name Vladilena is a female version of the name Vladilen which appeared in ussr and basically means (VLAD)imir (I)lyich (LEN)in. If the author chose this particular name of course
That would actually make a lot of sense. Idk if it was purposeful but it would be a great reference. Both Lenin and Lena Mileze fought to overthrow an oppressive power scheme and save a population being exploited and having their rights stripped.
For me it wasn't good, even though people were saying it's really good I found it extremely boring (I mean no hate to the anime with this) so just because people are saying it's good you should still expect to not like it. Not every anime can be liked and enjoyed by everyone

Let's be real. Those who didn't like this anime: First....see it as a mech anime. It is indeed mech, I don't like mech also, but this one hits different. Second.....expect intense combat scenes, wanting to see the upper surface of the iceberg only, that's a fact, don't deny it fr. People love 86 because of it's story telling. The combat is also peak but not every episode has those scenes. Those who watched and then dropped it, I bet you didn't watch till ep4. If you don't like it, none of the 86 fans business, we only recommended y'all. But pulling shit like 'overrated' is honestly an insult to this anime. It is underrated, that's an undeniable fact based on the amount of fanbase. And it's storytelling is honestly built better than most of the famous anime rn. Don't believe it? LOL, ask those who have fully watched ss1 tell them to give their opinion.
So this guy used Eng to Ger translator for Lena's name. The Slavic variant is more-so pronounced: "Lè-nà", or also without accenting as: "Leh-nah". Vladilena's family seems to have a mix of Slavic naming schemes (Václav), Latin (Margareta). The surname is a toss up though it likely isn't Germanic, other people in the country tend to have more German names. It could have been this way just to make her family stand out from others. Surname could also be based on Milišić which is more Balkan-Slavic (Croatian specifically), but obviously it's a bit of a stretch since it's not 1-to-1. Anyway gloves off for this one now that its explained. Who the fuck says Vladi-LEENAH bro what is that LMFAO you hear Vladi and you immediately throw on the Slavic accent to Vladilena; why the shortened version gotta be different. XD For real though if anyone got other ways to pronounce things that's fine. I think it's interesting and I find linguistics/language derivation fun. Ironic ending note: My cousin's name is pronounced "Lè-nà / Leh-nah" and she's Serbian living in Austria. Imagine that mess if they really pronounce it Lee-Nah. I felt the opposite. Season 1 was amazing but season 13 onward was awful (last 2 episodes were great though)
