Even though most westerners are in denial regarding the situation you spoke today, I know that, that is the truth. Here, the youngsters are alarmingly showing the 'snowflake' signs. It is increasingly becoming difficult to cut a joke without being apologetic about it at the outset. Wokery is in fashion and the flavour of the season.
Since you asked what folks feel, here goes 🙂. A few points for people to ponder. 1. I feel that special forces are extraordinary people, no matter which country’s military they serve. First of all, it IS a different mindset when a person voluntarily signs up to the possibility of losing his/her life for the protection of people who are largely strangers (if you do not count for a moment that all people may identify with that country/civilisation). Considering that most average people will only go so far in sacrificing for people he knows, you will see that they are off the scale. As for the special forces people, they are a level higher (I’m ignoring the fitness, training, skills etc), because they have signed up to face an extremely asymmetric situation. They are always used in places where a small team needs to achieve that will otherwise take a lot of people increasing the risk of losses. So they always walk into situations where the odds are highly against them. 2. As for your comment on the snowflake generation, you are on the right track. Because Europe has had a period of relative peace, the need of a band of people ready to give up their life to protect the larger populace is hardly felt and does not find a presence in their daily consciousness. Even in India, I suspect we will discover that people in the border areas are a lot more appreciative of the role of the armed forces than folks in the metropolitan cities. Before others feel I’m misrepresenting the truth or take offence and say that we remember the armed forces too, it is because of the situation that our country is in and the frequent news of attacks in various places. I guess the demand supply equation is behind why people in peaceful places do not value people willing to sacrifice their life for the community/country. There is no demand, so supply of it is not valued. 3. The modern societal system is built to take advantage of anisotropy in society. But the downside of employing the anisotropy to our advantage is to take cognisance of the fact that there will be severe anisotropy of the fallout of events on the people. Most common people will probably shed a tear, write a note, place a bouquet, hold a candle or make a donation for someone who gave up his life for protecting practically a bunch of strangers. Look at it from the other side, the person is paying the ultimate price of giving up his life so that the small joys of our ordinary lives can continue. Apologies this is a long post but I do feel strongly about this.

And when that civil war reached her home, the mob showed her bra and panties in public. That’s what NATO is doing right now. So when you say that NATO is not doing anything, please please please, start reading the NEWS WHICH COMES FROM OUTSIDE EUROPE AND AMERICA, and consider both. But then do research and then figure out on your own that what is the truth …
