Cole, my dad had nothing higher than a 8th grade education as he helped his dad on the farm. Yet, he was one of the smartest intelligent persons I ever knew. He could design and make so many things like you’ve made on here. Here I have a masters degree and I couldn’t hardly do anything the things my dad did and all that I see you and your dad do in these videos. I love your humility, but don’t undersell yourself. Thanks for including us along with you and Brian. I’ve been watching your channel for several years now and absolutely look forward to the new videos each week.
You are smart enough. I was raised on small farm in Michigan. I always thought those quys were smart. I went to dental school and graduated #1 in my class at U of Michigan dental school about 50 years ago. I taught 25 years in dental schools in Oklahoma, Nebraska and Michigan. You are as smart as any student I had. Having said all that, don’t quit doing what you enjoy. You and your dad are an inspiration. I follow about 10 farmers on youtube. You are what makes this country great!.
I agree---- farmers are far smarter than they give themselves credit for, plus they are innovative, can and will do the job at hand, have a sense of urgency, ability to work under any conditions, respect for life in general. Plus both Cole and Brian have great spatial sense.
In a class of 100 doctors, guess what they call the one with the lowest marks? You got it, Doctor! I know lots of Doctors and they’re just folks with training in a particular skill set. Some of them are brilliant, and some not so much, LOL. You’re super smart in your particular field. I sure enjoy your videos, keep them coming.🇨🇦
I saw a bunk cleaner like that at a Farm Show last week. My 6 year old son said "I could run that for you dad, it looks fun." He's pretty proud that he gets to drive the Bobcat.
Western Welding Academy have a few videos on how to have a steady hand. Something I came across the other day. I'm not paid advertising. I've been watching your channel for a couple of years. I am so thankful for you and Brian's humor. Thank you for being you!
Cole, dont sell yourself short! A good farmer has to be many types of people, welder, surgeon(to his animals) feed salesman/dietician, midwife, mechanic, engineer, banker, accountant and about 10 other things! You know how many of those require Master’s degrees or better? Nearly all of them! You are every bit(and more so, because you are flexible) as smart as they are!
Cole the best way to get that bent out of the shift is to lay it between two v-blocks and turn it. Use a dial indicator where the high place is mark it and use a press to get it straight. Keep doing it until it runs true.
Cole is a very good inventer, machinist, welder, engineer.....lots of talent. This is really a plus for a farmer. You both make an excellent team. Great to watch. I really enjoy all aspects of your videos.
Great bit of fabrication Cole. I would have loved a plasma cutter when I was making farrowing crates and steel troughs. Our dog loves your channel, jumps off the sofa, and sits in front of TV when she hears your intro music. Barks at cows and growls at dogs! Will send a photo when we can put her in the Sonne farms t.shirt we've ordered. Best wishes from Whitby , North Yorkshire UK.
I love Cole Sonne projects! I love Mr. Brian Sonne and Mrs. Tiffany Sonne making the project scene. 🎬 It was as cold,in Alabama as it was in this video in South Dakota. We are freezing here in Alabama. My German Shepherd refused to go outside until he just couldn’t hold it anymore-made mad dash at the last second to the pasture, and zipped back inside. Little Ellie just pranced around like it was the same ole same ole-my dog should be ashamed. Y’all are working in the shop-I’m currently in my pajamas with 3 pairs of socks on my feet. The horses have haired up-they look 3x bigger than normal. Y’all are made from sterner stuff-thank for taking us along!❤❤❤
Hey Cole--I'm about to do you a big favor. Reminding you that tomorrow is one month before Valentine's Day. Don't blow it this year! Would hate to see you sleeping out in the calf shed.
@SonneFarms Cole. 3 days a married man had better not forget if he doesn't wanna spend the night in a cold doghouse is : Number one, wife's birthday. Number two, wedding anniversary. Number three, valentines day. Optional for some extra lovin, day of first date. Another, day you met. Just some little inexpensive gift goes a long way to a happy Wife. Happy Wife, Happy life. 20 years this last 4th of July experience married Wife is still a happy girl. I picked the 4th of July knowing I'd never forget our anniversary !
Great Job Cole👍👀 GREAT seeing Tiffany on the vlog today... Behind every successful Man is an AMAZING Women... GBY BOTH & Your Beautiful Families ALWAYS 🙏❤️💙💖💙🐕... 💙(for Uncle Jeff )🙏🤗✝️
Straightening a bent shaft: You’ll need one of those compressed air siphon engine cleaners. Run the hose into some water. Position the shaft so that the bend is pointing straight down. If you have a rosebud torch, use one. If not then just use your regular torch or a big propane weed burner torch and gradually heat the bent portion of the shaft. No need to get it red-hot. Once it’s hot you’ll want to get your engine cleaning sprayer directly over the bend and spray it in one spot - don’t move it around. You’re trying to shrink a small area. One shot may be enough but if it isn’t then repeat this procedure and move the spray tip over about a half inch. Usually a couple times will do it.
What I learned today is I wish I knew what you were making🤣. Whatever it is I know it’smade with a strong hand and amazing knowledge! Can’t wait to see the finished product working outside..👏👏👏👏
So good to see the intern sorry your Christmas with the family cut short but cattle never can go a day without feed. Just wondering if you still have the cats at your house haven't seen them for awhile.
May I suggest for Ver2.0, Using the output shaft out of an old pickup rear end. It's stout, already balanced, has a 5 lug hub and a high speed bearing on the end. Weld paddles mounts on the rim or just harvest the wheel center. Easy pit crew change for brushes, belt paddles, flail chains, etc. Also, you can 3D print parts to build a CNC table for your plasma cutter. No need for steady hand, just a little code on a card. There are a couple designs posted, folks are clever. Impressing the wife, it's what we do. ❤ Thanks for sharing, Cole. -EZ
Cole weld a small area of the shaft on the one side to heat pull the shaft for a straighter center line before you mount your pulley’s, let it cool and repeat until you get it some what straight. After cooling grind off the welds it will work to get most of the misalignment out so you don’t shake your tool apart.
Hi Cole, I like your building projects! In the Hydraulic motor are bearings as well. You should use a flexible coupler instead of a solid one. Otherwise the bearings of your motor will be worn very fast. Greetings from Holland!
Cole, keep building stuff, it is so much fun to watch you!! You should patent all your creations. Good to see Tiffany, she is looking great. Where was Elly today, nice seeing her in the video's. Stay warm if you can.
I never graduated from high school, but I can look at something and I make it, I thought myself how to weld and I thought myself how to sharpen saw blades and chain saw chain, I even learned how to drive a tractor and a dozer and I have built a lot of things that other people asked me who did that for you and I said Me Myself and I They didn't know what to say 😞😞🇺🇸 I can look at something and I can see it together and I built it.
You may think you are not smartenough to be a surgeon. You have the best and most important job and reroading job there is out there I can think of. Thanks to you and your dad. Thank you again.
What a great idea, One of my jobs was sweeping out, yeah I weren't in love with that job. So Did I spot Brian rocking a Christmas prezzie shirt? very smart. Cole, It'd be a fair assumption that a surgeon is quite clever but they'd be stuffed trying to weld or pull a calf out matey. Long live farmer built kit!
My wife was going to an eye doctor. The eye surgeon had to stop doing eye surgeries because he developed a tremor. Cole you can be anything you want to be.
Outstanding job Cole( LOL a slight infringement ) you made it better than the video of the one you watched. Still a great job 👏🏻 Can’t wait to see the finished product in action.
Hey Cole that bunk sweeper is looking good. I haven’t made it all the way thru the video yet but thought I’d throw it out there. If you put one more bearing between the 2 already there it will way stiffen up that shaft and probably correct a huge amount of that run out it has in it. Just a thought
5:33 hey Tiffany, when are you guys going to make a gate opener for him? I know they take eight years or so to mature enough to be a good gate opener but we’ll wait. Lol anyhow happy new year you guys.
Great video cole. Your good at the fabrication. Like anything it's trial and error. You won't know if you don't try. Best of luck with your new manufactured implement, hope it works great for you 👍
Larry hereI have to smile every winter when I see Brain with orange stocking hat Ihave same over 40 yrs old warmest ever had not use any more winter in Tx from cold Wi Go Pack
Cole, a love joy 2 piece coupling would be better for your application. It would allow for variations in shaft misalignment, and would transfer less bending to the hydraulic motor mount. Good luck with your project. Paul
Looks like Brian is as much help as I was when I was a kid "helping" dad. lol. Hey Cole - does Brian hold the flashlight so you can see where you are working? My siblings and I never mastered that task to my dad's satisfaction. lol
Thanks for another great video Cole. It was interesting. B Great job on making this tool to clean out the bunks. You have a great talent for fabricating Cole. You put all of that together step by step and made it look easy. Great job!!!!!!!’ Will be a handy tool to have. Easy way to clean the bunks. Nice warm shop to work in when it is cold. You have a nice set of tools for doing this work. Will be anxious to see the finished product. Nice work Cole. You did great on this. I totally agree with your comment about farming. Yes, you are a good farmer and you know how to get things done on the farm. Very good Cole!!!!!!! Thanks for everything Sonne’s. Take care. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

You are smart and I love how creative you and your dad are. And how close. Oh and without farmers we starve.❤ Congratulations on getting married.
That was beautiful thanks for sharing your wisdom ❤️
I've needed a surgeon three times in my life. I've needed a farmer/cow puncher every day of my life.
Well said!!!
Cole the best line is "But I know how to farm" That is the reality of a realist.
Jerry Reid, Brian!!... 🤣"She got the gold mine, I got the shaft." Have a nice week, guys..😉😉
Amazing work Cole.. Tiffany you should be so proud of your hubby.. he’s definitely a keeper.👏👏👏👏
You could be a surgeon, or whatever else you can imagine. Intelligence can be increased with hard work.
The surgeons couldn't do without you. They need your food to survive. You play an important role.
I think y'all should have an episode of cooking with momma Sonne. Have her cook up her favorite dishes, and get Tiffany involved with it.
In a class of 100 doctors, guess what they call the one with the lowest marks? You got it, Doctor! I know lots of Doctors and they’re just folks with training in a particular skill set. Skid loader work is a great way for the young ones to get into farm life!
Thank you Cole for sharing everything.Good to see Tiffany .Dad Brian thank you for sharing too.God bless you all.
Cole keep doing what you are doing so you don’t need a surgeon. And it was rather nice to see your wife.
Western Welding Academy have a few videos on how to have a steady hand. Something I came across the other day. I'm not paid advertising. I've been watching your channel for a couple of years. I am so thankful for you and Brian's humor. Thank you for being you!

Thank God you can farm we need our farm families I like watching your channel.
Nice to see Tiffany in your video Cole
Most surgeons don't have the business sense to ever keep up with the ag industry. Keep on keeping on! Thanks for the extra work with your videos!
Cole, you are just as smart as a surgeon.
Cole you're doing a great job, I worked on a ranch for 5 years it was the greatest time of my life keep up the good work, say hi to dad 😎

Hello Cole, I am amazed. You are a genius. I am glad that Your loved wife and Your Dad also noticed that. I am ready for more. Hello from Denmark.

Love you, see you build useful things for the farm. Stay warm and always enjoy your videos 😊
I thought I needed my welding helmet and safety glasses to watch that video. Great job!!
Anxious to see your sweeper in operation, there will be a few tweaks at first but it will just as great as the wire winder does.
Looking good Cole. Sorry your shaft is bent.
Great video Cole and Brian

Wowed!! Brain said he was proud of you. First time and I’ve been watching 4 years.
Brian says he's proud of Cole and his other sons(Robby and Jake) quite often so not sure you've paid a whole lot of attention for 4 years.
Cole everyone has their calling yours happens to be a rancher raising black Angus steers and heifers
Of course Tiffany is impressed. She has to be. She's your wife! :):)
