Why did Alan Ovens and Joe Jones not go looking for Jodi when they were very close by to where 'search party' met Luke M?
Instead we are asked to believe they just sat back and let an old women, her granddaughter and boyfriend come from a neighbouring village, thru woods/playing fields to search woods close to Jodi home.
ScottF ... allan ovens would've been busy helping his distressed partner (Judith) deal with the police. JoeJ might've been sleeping or also helping calm his distressed mother. Besides, didn't they eventually arrive at the car park in newbattle high school just after midnight? Clutching at straws again, Scott. Jodi was regularly out after 11pm. The path Jannine, Kelly, Alice say they walked was used by Jodi regularly, but they didn't 'search' that path.
Jannine and Alice could have comforted Judith. Instead of walking to RDP they could have easily went to Judith from path they were on, as easy and as quick to walk to Judith home as it was to RDP.

Honestly, well done for bringing attention to this case. It's shocking what happend to luke. I was in Polmont when he came In.i was maybe 16 or 17 at the time, I remember the screws, even says they thought he didn't do it at tht time. That planted a seed, I kept seeking information and researching the case. I believe he should be free and he did not kill jodi Jones. Again respect for bringing attention to this.
I know for a fact at St, Mary's Kenmure, he said he'd do to another kid what he done to Jody, he thought nobody was watching or listening while he was threatening the other kid.

The nonsense about transcripts putting an end to the speculating is laughable and all it would take to put an end to it all: Alan Ovens, S Kelly, Dickie's, or Ferris take a polygraph test. IF any one of them pass, it would put an end to any argument

The garage's at Home Farm where the large knife was found in the skip, was threatened with closer by police as mechanics had 'special knowledge' of Jodi injuries days after the murder. Its alledged a worker from Mayfield was having an affair with a police photographer.....this was never investigated

The large knife in the skip was examined back in August 2003 ... it had nothing to do with the murder and was not the murder weapon. As for special knowledge . . . word does tend to get around small villages & settlements, especially during an investigation of a child who was brutally murdered. Do you have a link or a cite to any of this (the special knowledge part)??

Even the social worker (Alistair) didn't feel the need to intervene at Dalkeith police station when the police were questioning LM. He held his own. I've never read luke saying jodi told him about Joe. But luke would have been scared of him as was most in the case. Jannine gave statement about Joe 'swinging about her by the hair' and Jodi blamed herself for his mental health and Jo said he attacked Jodi.

I think Dr lean is amazing and I don't believe she would do anything to harm Luke or his case, but listening to the videos, they are quite extreme. I was wondering perhaps could they have a similar effect as Joe steals methods? And do u think luke would have progressed had he not released the videos?
I don't mean to be critical, I just say how it is. I don't think Sandra or any of the team(although ex members are trying now)would harm luke. My 'critism' if any of Sandra is she takes on too much and controls too much, some of which she isn't experienced in.

Good podcast, been following this a while , i was certain LM was innocent, now I’m uncertain due to various things that don’t seem to match up. My question is where is Sandra Lean ?, as we heard all this talk of big developments coming soon, and she’s been awol for few months now, something seems way off IMO

I’ve followed the case for years, i know all about the aforementioned, but isn’t it criminal to have someone’s medical reports on your phone, and show them to others ?.

I'm not a lawyer so cannot comment on what 'exceptional circumstances' are however, if it were my medical records I'd be taking legal advice especially because those 'records' were really making me look like the 'murderer'. Somehow I don't think Joe is gonna seek legal advice 🤷♀️

Who thinks that the body of Jodie was moved from the kill site to the other place that she was found brutally murdered in a way which is rare for this type of crime in the area that she was from and her home was just up the road from the lane where she was found , too many people were more likely to have done this horrific killing or involved in the help to move her or whatever happened because the moped boys were at the scene of the crime at the time it's registered by the coroner's report so they say in the sticks but I have doubts myself actually !!!
It's hard to say really. I read somewhere that they moved the body on the scooter! What is possible but seems crazy. Surely someone would of seen a vehicle or the scooter at the ends of the path.
Can somebody point me in the direction of Mr Forbes law firm? I'm having trouble finding his credentials, and his success rates within in the legal system. I'm looking for a lawyer/detective type to represent me in an upcoming case, i cannot say too much at the moment, but it is about dogs shite. Since Mr Forbes is an expert on forensics, and he seems quite happy to poke around shite, he fits the bill to get me out of the pickle i'm currently in.

I've only listened to the first 5 or so minutes of this podcast ... Scott F says: "A transcript is what someone says in court. That doesn't mean to say that what they said in court is the same as what they said in their statement." What does SF mean by this? Does Scott F think that the police manipulated witnesses & witnesses' statements to the extent that what they said in court was lies? That Luke was, in other words, fitted up? It's the same old excuses from LM's supporters. You know, direct evidence of LM killing Jodi on cctv could be shown to LM's supporters and they would probably still say he's innocent ("But the cctv footage of LM killing Jodi could have been edited or doctored!" for example. This is the level of denial that some of his supporters likely have; they are entrenched in their own ignorance and obtuse reasoning). I've read all the transcripts published so far and, imo, they reinforce tenfold that LM is guilty beyond reasonable doubt (Corinne & Shane's testimonies were particularly damning to LM's defence, imo). I think that Scott F & Sandra L are keeping this 'innocence campaign' going in order to line their own pockets.

This is all one sided lots of evidence to prove Mitchell's guilt including his own brother lying about an alibi. His mother was also charged with perverting the course of justice or perjury,(rightly so) charges were dropped. He's guilty, should never be freed!!! For the simple reason there is not enough blood on t shirt IMO the t shirt is put at the crime scene

Ron ... wrong! It was proven in court that the t-shirt belonged to Jodi's sister, Janine. Jodi had borrowed it and put it on in her house before setting off to meet LM at 1650 on 30.06.03. The t-shirt had been freshly laundered (it smelled strongly of washing machine detergent), but, unbeknownst to Jodi, the T-shirt had an old semen stain on it from Steven Kelly (Janine's boyfriend at the time) that had survived a washing machine cycle. That's the reason why SK's dna was at the murder scene -- it was innocently transferred onto jodi's body by the rain that night and the only full dna profile found at the murder scene. It was innocent transfer. All the other dna found at the scene was mixed profiles of old semen from courting couples who'd had sex in that woodland strip where jodi's body lay, prior to the murder. Innocent transfer. That's why the police couldn't use the dna in this case to convict. They had to pursue a strictly circumstantial case against LM -- of which there was loads of evidence to use against him.

If there was fresh evidence left at the scene, that would have been detected by the forensics team immediately. It wasn't. Hence why a circumstantial case was pursued.
